Chapter One Introduction of Characters

This story begins in a countryside Orphanage called: Our Mother of Charity.
Father McGee is in charge of the orphanage. He is the one who makes all the
final decisions as to what will be done in the orphanage. Sister Charlotte
is in charge of the Kitchen. She is an excellent cook and is well liked by
the boys. Sister Mary Agnes is in charge of the regular duties that are on
going in the orphanage. As this story progresses you will see how the boy's
of the orphanage will touch all of these people's lives.

I The orphanage has been in existence since the early 1900's. It is present
day time and Father McGee is in his office going over expenses for the
month. Sister Mary Agnes comes into the office with a handful of paperwork
for Father McGee, such as receipts for deliveries and so on. " So, how are
you doing Father? Are we still within our budget for the month?" "Yes
Sister we are doing just fine." " Could I ask you for a voucher for some
sporting goods for the boys to play with? It is baseball season and you
know how much the boy's like to play." " Sure Sister how much money did you
plan on spending on the boy's?" " Well, Father I only need maybe four or
five bats and a couple of gloves and maybe a box of balls. I really don't
know how much that will cost but that is the bear minimum that we can buy
in order to be able to allow all the boys to play." " All right Sister, I
will have the voucher on your desk by this afternoon. Take some of the boys
with you to town and pick up the supplies that you need. Don't go overboard
Sister we wouldn't want to go over our budget." " Okay Father I will do the
best that I can. And Father, Thank you I am sure it will make the boys
happy." "Well, Sister I do my best for these boys, most of them will be
with us until they are 18."

No matter where you were in the orphanage you could always smell the food
that Sister Charlotte was preparing. Tonight was meatloaf night and the
boys always raved about her meatloaf. It is a relatively cheap meal so
there are always a lot of leftovers for the boys for lunch the next
day. You could also smell the wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookies that she was
baking for a treat for the boy's.

My name is Chad and I have been here since I was six years old. My mom and
dad died in a terrible car wreck and my Auntie brought me here right after
the funeral. I have been here 6 years now and no one has wanted to adopt
me. We don't get many people coming here looking for a boy to adopt. We are
kind of out of the way of the regular traffic and no one really pays
attention to us. Every now and then a couple comes up to see the boys but
they are always interested in a younger boy. Very few of them are
interested in a 12 year old. There are only a few boys that live here
because this is a small orphanage and there isn't a lot of room.

I was working my way into the Kitchen to see if I could help Sister
Charlotte fix dinner. " Hi, Sister I see you are making your famous
Meatloaf again tonight." "Yes, Chad I know its your favorite and favorite
of all the boys." " So Sister what else are we going to have with the
meatloaf." " Well, Chad we have some homemade mashed potatoes, Corn and
Peas mixed. Some fruit cup for the beginning of the meal and a cup of
chicken noodle soup." " Not that I can't tell what we are going to have for
dessert but, is that chocolate chip cookies I smell in the oven Sister?" "
Yes, Chad but they are a little bit of a surprise so try and not give away
the dessert." I can always tell when Sister is making the cookies. The
whole orphanage smells sweet from the chocolate chips. And it makes
everybody hungry. " Sister, is there anything I can do for you to help get
dinner on the table?" " No not right now Chad but if you come back in about
and hour you could bring some of the boys with you and set the table." "
Okay Sister that's what I will do then. See you in about and hour." " Yes,
see you in and hour Chad." So, I went outside to the playground and there
were a few kids out there shooting hoops. Since, I was the biggest one of
the group, they kind of all looked up to me. " Hey Chad, you want to shoot
a few baskets?" "Yeah sure, Judd thanks." I took a couple of shots and
thanked the guys that were there and then I went up to my room to read for
awhile before it was time to go down and set the table for dinner. Even
though I was one of the only gay guys there I always made sure that all the
guys got my attention. They all sort of look up to me, like a Big
Brother. Since most of them are younger than me I kind of take them under
my wing and help them out if they are in a jam or need help with their
homework or whatever.

I was reading a book about this guy who was a drifter and he went from town
to town just doing things for people to just make a living. He would live
with a rancher and their family and help them put a new roof on their barn
or wherever this guy could get some work. It was called The Wild
Frontier. I couldn't imagine why they called it The Wild Frontier it was
really a good book to read so far and there was no Wild Frontier mentioned
yet in the book. But it has a good story line so I enjoy reading the
chapters.

Well, it was time to get the guys together to go and set the table for
dinner. So, I hollered out the window to all of them to meet me in the
dining room in 5 minutes. I told them that I told Sister Charlotte that we
would help set the table for dinner. So they put the basketball back where
it belonged and they went into the bathroom and washed their hands and came
down to help me set the table.

We all had out places at the table. Of course, Father McGee sat at the head
of the table and Sister Mary Agnes sat at the other end. In between, there
was a place for all the boys. Brad sat closer to Sister Mary Agnes in case
he needed some help cutting his meat. He is only nine and I think he likes
the attention that he gets because he is the youngest one of us here. Judd
and I sit across from one another. And when all the food is on the table
Sister Charlotte sits next to Father McGee.

The boy's met me in the Dining Room and they all knew what had to be done
as we go through this at every meal except breakfast. In the morning Sister
Charlotte just makes up some trays of Bacon and eggs and everyone helps
themselves. It's like a buffet sort of in the morning. In any case we all
went into the Kitchen to help Sister Charlotte bring out food to the table
for dinner. Including Father McGee and Sister Mary Agnes. Everyone has to
pitch in here. Unless you are sick we all have to do our share of the
work. Every meal someone else has to say grace before we eat. Tonight it
was Brad's turn. "Dear Lord, Bless this food to our use, strengthen it,
nourish it and put strength in our bodies that we be of service to you."
Father McGee said; " Very good Brad that was an excellent prayer. Where did
you learn that from." "My grandma and poppop use to say that when I went
over there house when we had dinner." "Very good Brad." Dinner was usually
a quiet meal. As, we were usually very tired from school and our homework
and chores that we are all assigned to do.

Once, in awhile one of the boys would talk about sports or something that
happened in school that day. But most of the time it is a quiet dinner.

After dinner was over it was our job to clean up the dining room and put
the dishes in the dishwasher. So when we are done with dinner everyone
knows that they have to take their plates and stuff and bring them into the
kitchen. Of course we take Father McGee's plate and Sister Mary Agnes's
plate also. Usually Sister Charlotte brings here own stuff to the kitchen
and she overseas what's going on just to make sure that the dishes get
where they belong.

After dinner was over and the dining room table was cleared it was time for
whoever had homework that day to sit at the table and get it done. As usual
tonight we all had homework. And as usual little Brad was having trouble
with his homework so being as though I am the oldest boy here I go over and
help him first before doing my homework. He is a great kid he just doesn't
like school. Well who does really. "All right Brad, what's wrong now."
"Chad I am having trouble with my Math problems can you help me with them?"
"Sure buddy tell me where your stuck." Well those words usually mean that
he wants me to do his math work for him but I don't I just explain it to
him and he does the work himself. I try to not let him get the answers
wrong but sometimes as a typical 9 year old he just doesn't listen.

Well, I finished up helping Brad so that he could get to bed early. He is
hard to wake up in the morning so I make sure that he is in bed by no later
than 9pm. Otherwise he can't get up in the morning.

So, I sat down and did my homework and finished it up and I went up to my
room to read. Because I was the oldest here I got a room all to myself. The
others have to share rooms with one another.

I turned on the light in my room and was reading a article in a magazine
that Father McGee got for me. When I heard Brad crying across the hall from
me. I went over to his room and found him sitting up in bed crying.
"What's the matter Brad?" "Chad there were these monsters and they were
chasing me and I got scared." "Relax Brad you were only having a
nightmare." "Chad could I sleep with you tonight? I am really scared." "I
really prefer that you stay in your bed and try and fall back asleep." Brad
started to sniffle and start to cry and the softie that I am I said ; "
Okay, c'mon you can sleep with me." So I picked him up and took him into my
room and put him in the bed. "You're the bestest friend I ever had Chad. I
love you." "C'mon now Brad just lay down and try and get to sleep. I will
be joining you in a little while." "Okay, Chad I will try." He rolled over
on his side and went to sleep. He is so cute I just love him to death. He
has such a cute smile and a set of dimples that really are adorable. And he
has a cute ass too. He still wears pajama's to bed cause he is little but I
could see his cute bottom staring right at me while I was sitting in my
chair reading my magazine.

I finished the article that I was reading and climbed into bed beside
Brad. I guess I must have disturbed him because he rolled back over on my
side and he put his arm over on top of me. I guess he felt safe that way
knowing that someone else was in bed with him. I was having a little
trouble controlling my lower body parts as he is so cute and to think of
having sex with him really got me stirring. But I talked myself back down
to earth and went to sleep

***** Writers Note: Well folks that's the end of chapter one. I hope that
you enjoy it. I will introduce the rest of the characters in the next
chapter. As I just took the time to talk mostly about Brad and I in this
chapter. I know there isn't any sex in this chapter and there may not be
any in the next chapter either. I don't know for sure but I just wanted you
to get to know all the people in the story first and then move on to the
relationships that abound here at the orphanage. Please let me know what
you think of the story line. Whether you have good comments or bad I would
