REALISTIC DISCLAIMER: Be safe....

OK, jumping ahead a few months with this chapter. The guys are now 15,
time flies when you're having fun, eh? A few more double dates have
occurred, with the typical 'post-date debriefings.' LOL

Some of you are under the impression that 'intimacy' between the guys
happened every weekend, or something. Not a chance! Sometimes twice a
month, at the most. We both had our realities, homework, family stuff,
etc. And a lot of times, we just hung out - like friends do. I try to
skip most of the boring details of day to day life...and believe me, it
could get real boring - but try to put enough in to keep it real. So, I
guess that's where the misconception comes from. I'll try to do
better... :-)

Here's Chapter 9 - Springtime of our freshman year......

FROM CHAPTER 8

David rolled to his side facing Kelly and the other boy smiled and rolled
the same way, spooning himself back into David's body.

"Night, Dave," he whispered.

David kissed the back of Kelly's neck, "Night."

UNDER PRESSURE/HIGH SCHOOL 9 - Peer Pressure

"Well, I think we should go alone this time, Dave," Sally argued.

They were standing by David's locker at the end of the day, discussing
their next date.

"Yeah, but we have a lot of fun with Polly and Kel."

"But I think we need some time to ourselves, just you and me. And anyway,
Polly feels the same way."

Over the last few months, the two pairs had become 'couples.' They had
gone on a few more double dates, held hands and kissed in school - to the
amusement of their four other friends, both boys had made out with their
'girlfriends' on a few private occasions, but had gone no further than
kissing. The guys could tell their dates were getting somewhat frustrated
at the slow progress, so this discussion didn't come as a surprise.

Image was everything, so David relented a little, "What did you have in
mind? Another movie? Sorta don't have the money for that at the moment."

"Maybe just take a walk or something," Sally smiled, then reiterated, "just
you and me."

"I guess that would be cool," David admitted. "When?"

"Maybe this weekend, I'll check with my mom."

"Ok," David sighed, then gave Sally a peck on the lips, "My bus is here, I
gotta go."

"See you tomorrow, Dave."

David smiled and waved to her on his way out the door. As he got aboard
his bus, and slid into his seat, he sighed heavily. Life just wasn't
simple. He was content with his relationship with Sally, she was more of a
good friend, than a 'girlfriend,' but she obviously thought the opposite.
He fingered the necklace he was wearing - Sally's, and then returned to his
thoughts for the rest of the ride home.

Arriving at the house, he went to his room and started on homework. His
parents and sister got home, said their greetings, and went about their own
tasks. After supper, the phone rang.

"David," his mother yelled back the hallway.

"Coming," he replied, putting his book down on the bed. Grabbing the phone
off the counter, and putting it to his ear. "Hello?"

"Hey Dave," came Kelly's voice, bringing a smile to David's face.

"Hey, man, what's going on?"

"Did you get 'The Talk' today?" David could hear the capitals.

"The one that went, 'We don't spend enough time together'?"

Kelly laughed on the other end of the line, "That's the one."

"Yeah, sometimes they act like they want to get married or something."

Kelly chuckled, "Yeah, but we'd make beautiful babies, don't ya think?"

"So, what are we gonna do?"

"I dunno, guess we have to go with it. Unless you wanna break up with
them."

"Nah, I guess we'll spend some time....alone with 'em," David answered.

"Just remember, no home runs," Kelly laughed.

"Nope, not even close to going over the fence, man."

"Me neither. Hey, did you get the math homework problems?"

The two of them discussed their Geometry homework, comparing answers for
another few minutes before they hung up.

"Who was that?" Lynn asked, coming out into the kitchen.

"Kelly."

"Oh, what did he want?"

"If you're writing a book, Lynn, leave that chapter out and call it a
mystery," David answered, peeved at her nosiness.

"You were talking about your giiirrrrrlllllllfriends," she teased.

"Whatever," David answered, brushing by her on his way back to his room.

Friday at school, leaning against the lockers, Sally approached him,
informing him that they could have their date Saturday night. This was
greeted by a typical ribbing from the other four boys - Kelly was notably
absent for some reason.

Spinning to them, Sally snapped, "I don't know why Dave hangs around you
guys sometimes. All you do is give him a hard time."

Steve draped his arm over David's shoulders, "It's because he looooovvvves
us." This action received chuckles from the boys, and just upset Sally
more.

"C'mon Dave, let's go to home room."

Rolling his eyes at his friends, he took Sally's offered hand and they
walked up the hall.

"You know Dave, I like your friends and all, but they can be a pain."

David laughed, "Yeah, they can, but they're my friends. Don't let 'em get
to ya."

The rest of the day passed in its typical Friday slowness. David caught no
sign of Kelly in any of the classes they shared, and wondered what was
going on.

He and Sally were standing by his locker, waiting for their busses, when he
finally found out. "Polly says that Kelly can't go out with her this
weekend 'cos he's sick. Would you mind if she came along with us?"

"I thought it was gonna be 'just you and me,'" David answered, miffed at
her proposed change of plans.

"Yeah, you're right," Sally answered, "but I just thought you wouldn't
mind."

"Look, do whatever you wanna do, but make up your mind, okay Sally? I
mean, you made a big deal about Kel and all, then you're saying the same
thing."

"Yeah," she agreed, "okay, meet you at 7 in the park ok?"

"No problem," David answered, squeezing her hand before letting go, "gotta
go, bus is here."

When he got home, he called Kelly. "So, you're sick?"

"Yeah, a little," came the low response.

"Man, that sucks. You're gonna miss your big date," David teased.

"Big deal, there's always another time."

"Yeah," David answered, then filled Kelly in on Sally's conversation.

"Man, they are so weird, sorta glad I'm not going now," Kelly said.

"Yeah, just leavin' me to the wolves," David laughed, getting a chuckle
from his boyfriend.

"Well, you have a good time, and don't do anything I wouldn't do, Dave."

"Well, since I know what you do, guess I've got it made, huh?"

"You know what I mean," Kelly laughed.

"Don't worry, my honor will not be tarnished."

"What honor?" Kelly snorted.

"Yeah, you're right. Well, I'd better get off of here, supper's almost
ready. Get better, man."

"Gonna try, Dave. Bye."

"Bye."

Saturday started off to be a good day. David finished his chores early,
giving him some time to wander back into the woods behind the house, and
play some catch with his dad, who was home for once on a Saturday. His dad
was constantly making suggestions on how to improve his throwing and
catching, and soon David tired of the game and begged off, saying he had to
get ready for his date.

His dad grinned, "Well, just don't do anything I wouldn't do."

"Dad, you have two kids, what is it exactly you wouldn't do?"

His dad seemed to be surprised at the comeback, stuttered once or twice,
then grinned again, "Well, you know what I mean."

"Yeah, no worries, dad. You won't have to plan on being a grandpa for a
while, ok?"

David went inside, took a shower, and got dressed in shorts and a polo
shirt in preparation for the evening.

"Don't you think you should dress a little better?" his mom asked.

"Jeez, mom. You act like we're going to an opera or something. It's just
a walk," David answered, exasperated.

"Be careful of that tone, young man," she warned.

"Okay, but it's just a walk."

"You know, you should take Sally to dinner sometime," his mom continued.

"I'm going broke now," he replied.

"Well, you can always take money out of the bank."

"Mom, that's for my car, remember, I take Driver's Ed this term."

"Well, some things are more important than a car," she answered.

"Not to me."

His mom smiled, "They will be. Your priorities will change one day."

"I guess," David answered. He didn't want to get into this discussion
again.

"You ready to go?" she asked.

"I was gonna ride my bike, that way I can leave whenever."

"You don't want to get all sweaty, David," his mom informed.

David sighed and shrugged, "Okay, I guess, I'll just give you a call when
we're done."

The ride to the park was nerve-wracking for David. His mom kept up her
constant 'pre-date chatter' and he was actually relieved to get out of the
car and walk over to Sally, who was sitting on a picnic table bench.

"Hey," he smiled.

Sally stood up and gave him a close-mouthed kiss on the lips, "Hey, ready
to take a walk?"

Taking her hand, and turning to wave to his mom, they started walking the
path. They chatted aimlessly about school and friends, then Sally slipped
her arm around David's waist. David responded to her action by draping an
arm over her shoulders. Sally sighed and smiled at him.

"This is nice, don't you think?" she asked.

"Uh, yeah, I guess so," David replied nervously, keeping his eyes straight
ahead.

"Dave, you're acting like a stick again," she giggled.

"Sorry," David muttered and tried to relax.

They continued walking, arms around each other, until they had reached the
end of the path. David had become used to the feeling of his arm around
someone else's shoulder - besides Kelly, anyway, and had begun to relax.
Sally guided David over to a picnic table where they sat with their backs
against the top, looking out into the park. They sat there a few seconds,
then Sally took David's hand and once again put it over her shoulders. She
snuggled against David, laying one hand on his thigh, causing him to jump
in surprise.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Nothin'," David replied.

"Why are you so nervous? Don't you like this?"

"Yeah, I like it," David answered, trying to choose his words
carefully. "It's just that, well, it's like the first time we've been alone
and stuff. And there's people around."

"So what - there's people around, you're my boyfriend after all."

"Yeah, guess you're right," David admitted.

They sat there a few more minutes. David's uneasiness didn't subside, and
increased again when Sally's hand started rubbing his thigh.

"I like you, Dave," she said looking up, "you can kiss me if you want to.
You don't have to be nervous."

"Is that why she thinks I'm nervous?" David thought. "Okay," he answered
out loud.

Sally raised her head, and David closed his eyes lowering his lips to hers.
When their lips met, Sally immediately slipped her tongue into David's
mouth. David opened his eyes in surprise, but Sally was insistently
hugging him to her. He closed his eyes, trying to get into the kiss, but
was having no luck until he thought of Kelly. Keeping that image in his
mind, he responded to her kiss the way he would to Kelly's. They kissed
for a minute or two, and Sally pulled away. Eyes still closed, David
whispered, "That was nice, Kel."

"What?" Sally asked. "What did you say?"

Snapping back into reality, David replied, "Just said that was nice, cool."

"Oh," Sally replied, looking closely at him.

He smiled at her a little, then kissed her again, hopefully stopping all
further thoughts of his screw-up. It seemed to be working, then Sally slid
her hand up to his crotch.

David jerked away from her lips, snapping his eyes open. "What the....?"

"Just thought you might like me doing that," Sally defended, "you seemed to
be really getting into the kiss."

Thinking quickly, David replied, "Yeah, but let's go a little slower, huh?"

"Okay, I just thought you might have wanted me to feel you, that's all,"
Sally said, somewhat embarrassed.

David gave her a quick peck, "S'ok, Sally, let's just hold off a little
okay?"

"Okay," she replied, then smiled, "You kiss pretty good."

"Really? Thanks," David replied, blushing, "So do you."

Sally giggled at the compliment, then snuggled back into David's shoulder,
still lightly rubbing his thigh. He didn't know what she was thinking, or
maybe he did, but his mind was on his sick boyfriend. And how he almost
messed this up by whispering Kelly's name after their first kiss. He'd
definitely have to be more careful.

They sat there until it started getting dark, then walked back to the
parking lot holding hands and chatting. Their moms were sitting in the
parking lot chatting to each other as they came down the path, and both
waved. David stopped, turning to Sally, "Thanks for the good time." Then
he gave her a quick kiss.

"I had fun too, Dave," she answered, then ran her tongue across his lips.

"David pulled away, glanced over at their moms and grinned, warning, "Big
eyes."

"And mouths," Sally answered, giggling.

David squeezed Sally's hand, "Bye Sally. See you Monday."

"Yeah, I might call you tomorrow," she responded.

"Okay, dunno if I'll be home. You know, the normal Sunday with the parents
thing."

"Well, I'll try. If we don't talk, I'll see you Monday."

"Okay," David smiled, somewhat relieved the evening was over.

They got into their separate cars, Sally blowing a kiss to David as they
drove away.

"Did you have a good time?" his mom asked, grinning.

"Yeah, it was nice."

"Well I could tell, you smell like perfume, and you've got some," she
reached over and rubbed the corner of David's mouth, "lipstick here."

"Moooom, stop it."

His mom laughed, pulling out of the parking lot. David sat lost in his
thoughts on the way home, replying to his mom's questions with one-word
answers. When they got home, he retreated to his bedroom after suffering
through another inquisition from his dad and sister.

Laying on the bed, he smiled. "Wait til Kel here's about this," he smiled
to himself.
