FROM CHAPTER 38

"You can, you know," Greg said softly, closing his eyes.

"No doubt, but you wouldn't respect me in the morning," David answered,
laughing.

"Maybe, just don't.....," Greg trailed off.

David grinned, his roomie had drifted off. He puttered around the room a
little before turning off the light and slipping into his bunk.

LIFE GOES ON - DAVID AND CHAD #39 - For Every Action....

David was dreaming of being in an earthquake. He was desperately looking
for Chad, but couldn't find him. He searched frantically. He could hear a
voice calling his name, but no luck, and the shaking was getting worse.

"Dave.....DAVE."

"Huh, wha?" David rolled over to see Greg's distressed face through the
fog of sleep.

"Hey, man, I'm sorry, but...," Greg started, then heaved into the trash can
he had brought with him from the other side of the room.

David sleepily groaned, "What the hell, Greg?" Still not completely awake,
he was a little upset at being woken.

Greg wiped his mouth and looked back at him. "Man, I feel like shit."

"No duh," David answered querulously. "Now why did ya wake me up
at....two-thirty in the morning?"

Greg's face became embarrassed and he turned away from David. "Ummm, well,
I kinda made a mess."

"Huh?" Greg pushed himself onto his knees. David almost lost it himself
when he saw that Greg must have missed the trash can at least once. "So go
take a shower," David advised.

"Well, I tried, but I can't stand up without losing my balance."

David started chuckling, now almost completely awake. "Betcha this is the
last time you go out on the town, huh?"

"Can you just help me a little?" Greg asked.

"What? Want me to give you a bath?"

"Just help me to the showers, that's all."

David sighed and rolled to a sitting position. Greg was weaving on his
knees. He obviously couldn't make it down the hall by himself. "Okay, you
goob, let me get your stuff." Greg nodded and sunk back to his hands and
knees as David collected his shower stuff and bathrobe. He tossed the
bathrobe at Greg, who managed to put it on with some difficulty. He
reached his hand down to Greg, who grasped it. Using the side of the bed,
he was on his feet, albeit unsteadily. David chuckled again. "Man, you're
so wasted."

"I'm just sick, Dave."

"Yeah, well, c'mon." David slipped his arm around Greg's waist as his
roomie slid his arm across David's shoulders. With some difficulty, they
opened the door and shuffled down the deserted hallway to the showers.
"Sit," David gestured to one of the benches. He turned on the closest
shower and adjusted the temperature. Turning around he laughed. Greg was
sitting on the bench morosely, elbows on his knees and chin pro[[ed up with
his hands. "Okay, goob, shower's ready."

Greg nodded and tried to stand. Giving up, he stripped off his robe and
crawled to the shower on hands and knees. Under the spray, he sat up,
letting the water wash over him. A few seconds later, he heaved again, the
water washing the remnants down the drain. "Man, I am so sick," he moaned.

"Well, man, if ya can't run with the big dogs, ya gotta stay on the porch,"
David answered, leaning against the wall behind Greg. Greg nodded and
managed to slip out of his soaked underwear, tossing them into a corner.
David watched as he tried to stand up. His grin faded as Greg tried to
stand and his knees slipped out from under him, causing him to fall on his
side. "Hey, hold on there a sec," David ordered, moving over under the
spray with his roomie. "You're gonna hurt yourself, man. Hit your head on
the floor, or something."

"Wanna wash off," Greg sighed, eyes closed.

"Well, hold on, okay?" David knelt behind Greg and slipped his arms under
Greg's and locked his hands across the sophomore's chest. "Okay, on three,
try to stand."

When David reached three, he managed to help Greg to his feet, getting
completely soaked in the process. "Ughnnnnn," Greg moaned and dry heaved.

"Put your hands on the wall man, lean against it, I'll get your soap and
stuff." David waited until Greg seemed to be braced and retrieved the soap
from the bench. "Here."

When Greg reached for the soap, his feet started to slide out from under
him again. David once again reached around him until his sick roomie was
once again stable. "I can't." Greg said tremulously. "I'll fall."

David sighed. Now what? "Look, if you want, I'll do it for ya," he
offered softly.

"What if someone comes in?"

David shrugged, "Up to you, man." Greg remained silent for a few seconds,
then nodded slightly. David worked up a lather in his hands and started
washing Greg's back. Greg tensed up as David's hands made first contact.
"Hey, relax, I'm not gonna do anything except wash the puke off, man,"
David scoffed. Once again, Greg nodded as David's hands worked down his
back and briefly across Greg's butt. The cheeks, nice ones too - David
thought, tightened as his palms rubbed across them down to his thighs.
"Look, man," David argued, "don't worry, okay?"

"Just thinking what this would look like if someone came in."

"Jeeez, Greg, you feel too crappy to do this, anyone can see it. But, I'll
stop."

"No, that's okay," Greg mumbled.

"Relax man, it's not queer. Just one bud helping another," David tried to
reassure as he worked up more lather. He moved behind Greg again and
slipped his arms under the still braced soph, working the lather over his
chest and stomach. He took a breath. "Okay man, you wanna do this part,
or do ya trust me?"

"Ummm, I guess go ahead," Greg replied in a whisper, his body tensing as
David's hands briefly washed his groin.

"Nice one, man," David laughed, giving Greg's soft dick a brief squeeze.

"Hey, don't," Greg mumbled.

David laughed and washed the slightly hairy legs of his roommate.
Finished, he stood upright. "Okay, Greg, your back's rinsed off, gonna
hold ya up while you rinse the front, okay?" Greg nodded again and stepped
back as David supported him, letting the spray rinse the soap off the front
of his body. Now soap free, David guided Greg over to the bench again.
"Stay put while I rinse off."

David stripped off his wet shorts and stepped back under the spray, rinsing
the remaining suds off himself. He turned off the shower, wrung out his
shorts and walked back to where Greg was sitting. Grinning, David stood
about two feet in front of Greg, dripping. Greg looked up, his eyes
resting on David's groin for a few seconds before moving up to his face.
"See something that interests you?" David teased, chuckling as he reached
for a towel.

"Shut up," Greg groused, remaining seated as David dried off. David
slipped on his damp shorts and tossed a towel to Greg.

"Dry off man, and let's see what kinda mess we have in the room."

Greg slowly dried off and slipped on his robe, still seated. He took
David's offered hand and the two made their way back to the dorm room.
Opening the door, David's nose was immediately assailed with the stench.

Greg grimaced and moved back from the door. "Ugh."

"Oughta make you clean it up," David complained, a little angrily. "But
shit, you'd make even more of a mess." He turned on the overhead light,
took a breath, and entered the room. Greg had slightly missed the trash
can obviously. It wasn't too bad, though. The stench was obviously coming
from the trash can. "Just sit there in the hall," David ordered, picking
up the trash can and walking back to the bathroom where he emptied it into
one of the toilets and flushed. He rinsed out the can under one of the
showers, and walked back to the room. He grinned to himself as he
approached a forlorn Greg.

"I'm so sorry," Greg apologized, sitting on the floor with his back against
the wall.

"Should be," David groused a little. "I'm not your mommy."

"Sorry," Greg mumbled again.

"Look, man, just messin' with ya a little. Relax, okay?"

Greg nodded as David went back into the room, using the wet towels to mop
up the remnants of the mess. He walked by Greg again and deposited the
towels in one of the linen hampers in the shower room. Returning to the
room, he opened a window, allowing the cold air to circulate through the
room for a few minutes. David examined Greg's mattress and covers, no
mess, thank God. He slipped back into the hallway after slipping on a pair
of dry shorts and t-shirt.

"We'll just sit out here for a bit while the room airs out," he said,
sitting beside Greg in the hallway. "Your bed and all is okay," he added.

"Okay," Greg mumbled quietly.

"How ya feeling?" David asked.

"Better now, after the shower," Greg replied, his eyes still on the floor.

"Good. Look man, don't feel bad, you know how I am when I get woken up."

"Well, I'm sorry," Greg apologized again.

"Shit happens," David chuckled, squeezing Greg's shoulder. "No biggie."
They sat silently in the hallway for another 20 minutes, before David rose
and closed the window. He walked back out into the hallway and reached a
hand down to Greg.

Eyes still averted, Greg grabbed his hand and pulled himself upright. He
was obviously a little more stable than previously. "Thanks," Greg
whispered as David helped him into the room. David closed the door behind
them and assisted Greg to his mattress. Greg slowly sat, then reclined on
the mattress, propping his head on one hand. He looked up at David and
smiled slightly. "Thanks, really."

"No problem," David replied, then chuckled. "Just don't let it happen
again."

"First time is the last time."

"Good, cos next time, you'll sleep outside," David laughed, slipping off
his shirt and shorts and sliding into a pair of briefs. He turned off the
overhead light and slipped into his now cold bed, shivering slightly.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, just got a little chilly," David replied.

"Oh," Greg paused for a few seconds. "Dave, really, I appreciate what ya
did."

"Even though it was queer?" David shot back. Greg was silent. David
rolled onto his side to look across the darkened room to where Greg was
still propped up. "I mean, jeeez, I felt your dick, that's queer, right?"

"You were just helping."

"Well, shit, the way you acted. You musta thought I was gonna rape you or
something. You gotta get over that shit, you know."

"Okay, okay, no need to get mad."

"I'm not mad. Just confused. So just go to sleep, okay?"

"About what?"

"Just go to sleep, Greg. I don't wanna discuss this," David replied,
rolling over to face the wall. He listened as Greg tossed and turned for a
few minutes before settling into sleep. David remained awake, however.
Yeah, he found Greg good-looking. Yeah, he'd probably 'go for it' if he
knew Greg was into it and he didn't have Chad. Yeah, he kinda took
advantage of the situation to cop a feel of Greg. Yeah, it was nice.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," he mumbled to himself. As the thoughts were running
through his mind, he slipped into a fitful sleep.

"Ohhhhhhhh," he heard from the other side of the room the next morning. He
ignored Greg's complaints, pretending to still be asleep. He heard Greg
groan as he stood up. Then he felt a presence next to his bunk. He rolled
over onto his back and opened one eye to see a disheveled roommate staring
down at him.

"What?" David groused.

"Nothing."

"You look like crap," David observed.

"Feel like it too."

"Take two aspirin, and call me in the morning," David replied, rolling back
onto his side. He sighed as he felt the edge of the bed sink as Greg sat
down. Rolling onto his back again, he asked, "What now?"

"Nothing really," Greg said softly.

"Oh okay," David sighed, closing his eyes. He jerked when he felt Greg's
hand on the front of his bare shoulder.

"Really, thanks for last night. I owe ya one."

David nodded, the hand still on his shoulder. "If you say so." Greg was
almost absentmindedly rubbing his palm on David's shoulder. He glanced up
at his roommate, who was staring over at the mattress on the floor. "Ummm,
what's with the rub down?" David chuckled.

"Oh, sorry," Greg exclaimed, jerking his hand away.

"Well, it felt good. Just wondering what was going on, that's all. No
need to get uptight."

"Well, umm, uh," Greg stuttered, face reddening.

David laughed and patted his roomie's arm. "Chill, man." David stretched,
watching Greg's eyes wander a little over his chest and stomach. He smiled
to himself. "You oughta take some aspirin or something, Greg."

"Yeah, my head feels like it's gonna fall off."

David laughed, "Aspirin, man."

Greg nodded and stood up. After downing two aspirin, he returned to his
previous position on the edge of David's bunk. "So, I made a mess, huh?"

"A little bit, no big deal."

"I'll never do that again," Greg stated forcefully.

"Awww, does that mean I won't be able to feel you up again?" David teased.

A look of concern flickered across Greg's face, then faded as he saw
David's grin. "Well, guess not, huh?"

David sighed dramatically. "Oh, the waste."

"Well, maybe if you ask nicely," Greg laughed.

"In your dreams," David replied.

"Never know," Greg grinned and trailed off.

"Yeah right, my roommate the tease," David laughed.

Greg laughed and patted David on the shoulder again and then winked. "Ya
never know," he laughed again. Then he stood up and started dressing.
David watched him from his bed as Greg shrugged out of his bathrobe, then
turned to face David. "See something ya like?"

"Yeah right, remember, I got a close inspection last night," David laughed,
then averted his eyes.

Greg laughed and finished dressing, then sat down at his desk. He sat
there quietly for a few minutes, then jumped to his feet and ran out of the
room. David laughed quietly as he laid there. Okay, if Greg wanted to
play the game, David could be a tease too. "Might be a dangerous game,
Mr. Barker," he chuckled to himself. He did have somewhat of an upper hand
though - after last night. It could be interesting. He shook his head,
still grinning and stood up to dress. He was buttoning his jeans when a
knock came on the door.

"Hey, goof," Mark grinned when David opened the door.

"Where's the mirror?" David laughed.

"Yeah, yeah, anyway, how's the roomie this morning?"

"Man, he's a mess. Was up at two-thirty cleaning up."

"No shit?" Mark laughed. "Bad night, huh?"

"Big time. He obviously never drank that much before."

Mark gestured toward the mattress on the floor. "He slept on the floor?"

David laughed. "Yeah, couldn't manage to climb into his bunk."

"Oh man, he WAS bad."

"Trash can was half-full of barf," David chuckled.

"Don't think he'll want to do that again," Mark stated.

"Nope, don't think so either. Probably won't wanna eat breakfast either,
wanna go?"

"Yeah, sure," Mark replied as a self-conscious Greg re-entered the room.

"What was that all about?" David smiled.

"Had to barf again," Greg sighed.

"Man, Greg, wanna go out again tonight?" Mark teased.

"No way, no how."

"Well, Dave and I are going to breakfast, wanna come?"

"Don't think so. I think I'd better not eat anything yet," Greg answered
ruefully.

Mark laughed and punched Greg lightly on the shoulder, "Whatever floats
your boat. C'mon, Dave."

"See ya later, Greg. Just take it easy, I'll be back in a little."

"Okay, thanks," Greg replied, grimacing as he lifted his mattress back onto
the bed. "Think I'm gonna take a nap."

"Good idea," David agreed. He patted Greg's shoulder, and followed Mark
out the door.
