she knew she would say something that she would regret later. They both sat
there for the longest time without a word passing between them. Tina was
getting madder by the moment and she was about to the point of getting up
and going into the hut and if Winifred wanted to sit out in the cold and
rain then she could. However something was stopping her, but that wouldn't
stop her words that just had to come out.
"You know one of these days; I'm going to stop giving into you on
everything you want." Tina told her harshly.
"What?" Winifred asked.
Tina let out a very loud sigh that she wanted Winifred to hear even
over the pounding of the rain, "I said that one of these days I'm going to
get tired of giving into everything that you want. I'm going to do what I
want!"
There was silence for a moment then Tina barely heard, "I give into
you too you know."
"Like when?" Tina asked as she finally looked over at Winifred who
was just looking forward and not looking at her.
The time just stood still as Winifred just sat there not saying a
word and Tina was starting to feel good as she had gotten the best of
Winifred since Winifred obviously couldn't come up with anything, so that
meant she was right.
Just as Tina was about to smile, feeling proud of herself for
getting the best of Winifred, Winifred turned her head toward her. Tina
could see the tears running down Winifred's face as she softly said, "When
you want to go on an adventure and explore somewhere or visit some far off
village. Even though it scares the hell out of me and although I may put
you off a little while, I always go and stay as long as you want."
Tina just looked at Winifred and her heart broke, she knew why she
never argued with Winifred for real, she always lost and she knew she had
just lost again. Winifred was right. She knew Winifred was scared to leave
the security of their home but she always did. Tina felt the tears
streaming down her own face as she got up going to Winifred. She put her
arms around her pulling her in tight.
"Yes you do always go with me and I'm sorry for what I said." Tina
said as she gave her a kiss on the cheek which Winifred accepted but
barely.
Tina kept kissing Winifred's cheek and she wiped the tears that were
running down Winifred's cheeks. Winifred did begin to relax and she let
Tina pulling her in closer and tighter. Tina gave Winfred light kiss on
the lips that Winifred did return then Winifred pushed her back scaring
Tina. She saw the serious look in Winifred's eyes and she wondered what
Winifred about to tell her.
"I don't... I don't know why I need for the floor to be just right
but as soon as we got it down, something inside of me just kept telling me
to wait just a little longer and let the floor get as hard as it could
possibly be. I don't understand it myself so I can't explain it to you but
that is why I wanted and needed to wait." Winifred said and Tina could see
Winifred's eyes pleading with her to understand.
"Well if you want to wait then we'll wait." Tina told her. "But I am
going to dig us out a place to lie down and cover up. It's going to be a
long night."
"Okay, you do understand don't you?" Winifred asked.
Tina stopped then she looked Winifred directly in the eyes,
"No... not completely but enough to follow your lead as you do mine." Tina
then gave her a smile and a kiss that seemed to satisfy Winifred.
Tina got up and she began to move and shuffle things around until
she had them a dry place to lie. She put down a couple of old blankets for
them to lay on and once she got Winifred laying down, she lay beside of her

The time passed but then one morning Winifred woke up complaining

toward her and Tina saw that Winifred was holding a very young baby girl

"Where did she come from?" Tina asked as she just stood there.
"The same place that we did I suspect. Now come here and meet the
newest addition to our family." Winifred told her.
Tina went in front of Winifred and she leaned down giving the baby
girl a kiss on the head as she wrapped her in the blanket around her being
careful not to pull the baby from Winifred's nipple. "What's her name?'
Tina asked.
"I don't know, I guess we'll have to name her." Winifred said as she
gave Tina a big smile.
"You're going to make her a great mother." Tina said giving Winifred
a kiss.
"No we're going to make her great mothers, and we're going to figure
up a name for her." Winifred said as a tear went down her cheek falling on
the baby's head christening her with her new mother's love.
Tina reached out touching the baby's hand and then feeling the tiny
fingers wrap about her index finger. That was when Tina's tears began as
she looked down at such a beautiful child. She fell in love with the baby
girl at that moment as she could see that Winifred had already fallen for
her. Tina ran her fingers lightly against the baby's cheeks and she knew
that this was why Winifred had to have a bigger hut and why the floor had
to be perfect. They may not be dropping things on the floor but this baby
would be doing more than dropping things on it. Once the baby got her belly
full and had fallen back asleep, they took her up to her new home.
This was their first child that they would be given to raise but it
would not be the last. When this child was just learning to walk, Tina's
