Subject: ROMY AND JULIE: THE SUMMER OF 1979

Ladies and gentlemen, I have returned with a brand new story featuring your
favorite characters.

First off, if you are under the age of 18, live where it is unlawful to
read this type of story, or find the notion of young adult women in love
with each other offensive and objectionable, then please do us a favor and
leave for your own sake. Any other questions? If not, then let us begin,
shall we?

ROMY AND JULIE: THE SUMMER OF 1979

by Keith

The 1970s were finally winding down by the time 1979 came to pass. This
would be the year in which everything was about to change....for good and
bad. The punk rock scene that began in England a couple of years earlier
was gaining a foothold in the form of a much softer version of it called
New Wave.It would become the year of Blondie and The Knack, but we are
getting ahead of ourselves. For right now, this is how it all began....

It was a warm Wednesday afternoon around late July/early August of that
year. Romy Woodward was hard at work at the vintage car automotive
boutique. She had just finished putting the final touches on a vintage
'50s era Thunderbird when one of her fellow employees walked up to her. She
was dirty and full of grease from working on the automobile when she and
the other employee walked up to each other.

"Oh good! I was just on my way to telling Charlie that the T-Bird's been
fixed up as good as new", said Romy as she stopped so that the other person
could approach her.

"You've got a phone call by the main office from a girl by the name of
Julie something...."

He motioned with his thumb to the front office as Romy looked at him.

"Thanks, I'll get it", said Romy as she patted the guy on the back shoulder
innocently getting an oily palm print on his light grey uniform shirt.

Once she was at the employee phone, she picked it up and was pleasantly
surprised by a familiar voice.

"Oh, hey Jule! What's up?"

"I just wanted to see if you were going to stop by my house on the way home
from work", said Julie from the other line.

"I wish I could Jule, but I gotta get home to get cleaned up because I need
to take my aunt to the Sears at Del Amo Mall to pay her bill, but I promise
to take you and Jennifer to see the Muppet Movie this Saturday."

"Oh, I didn't know about that, Romy."

"That's okay, Jule. So I'll pick you both up at around 10-11 Saturday
morning then?"

"Sure. That'll be nice. We'll see you then."

Romy heard Julie hang up the phone from the other line. Once that was done,
she shrugged her shoulders in the grey jumpsuit she wore, turned around,
and headed towards the boss's office. She needed to have a word with him
about something.

It was a little after 5 when Romy got home from work. She quickly parked
her black TransAm on the drive-way of her aunt's house, got out, rushed up
to the steps and opened the door to enter.

"Aunt Gerty, I'm home!",she called out to the older woman whom she was
staying with.

"Oh good you're home! I got a phone call from a girl that you went to
school with", called Aunt Gertrude while she was busily finishing up the
bills at the table in the kitchen.

"Was it Julie Spencer, Aunt Gerty?"

"Um....no Romy. It was a different girl who goes by the name of
Veronica...."

"You mean Veronica Waynewright, Aunt Gerty?", asked Romy as she stood at
the threshold of the hall.

"Something like that, but I'll tell you all about it after you get cleaned
up and ready to go. I'm on the last of my monthly bills so I should be
ready when you get showered and dressed."

Romy took her aunt at her word and quickly hurried into the bathroom and
shut the door behind her.

It was a little while later inside the TransAm that aunt and niece were on
their way to Del Amo. As the muscle car roared its way up Anza Avenue to
Hawthorne Boulevard, Aunt Gertrude began to complain.

"Slow down, Romaine! You're about to get us both killed if you keep that
up!", exclaimed Aunt Gertrude as she sat alongside her niece as she was at
the wheel.

"Sorry Aunt Gerty", replied Romy as she attempted to ease up on the speed.

"Now that's more like it, and would you please stop calling me Gerty,
Romaine. It's so annoying when you do that."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes, really", replied Aunt Gertrude a matter of factly as the TransAm
stopped at the intersection that connected Anza Avenue with Hawthorn
Boulevard. The light had just turned red as the muscle car stopped behind a
couple of other vehicles.

It was at this time that Aunt Gertrude noticed the gas station at the
corner as it was filled with lines and lines of cars as they waited their
turn to fill up on gasoline.

"That damned gas shortage just won't quit, won't it?"

Looking her aunt's way, she concurred with her.

"I can see what you mean."

Both women looked to see the lines and lines of impatient motorists honking
their horns and cursing at each other, but just then, the light turned
green. The TransAm made its way to the corner and quickly turned right to
make its way down Hawthorne Boulevard.

The candy stand and snack bar were still there by the book department when
Romy and Aunt Gertrude walked in. There wasn't that many people inside the
Sears store as they proceeded to make their way down the escalator to the
billing department. Thankful to see only one person finishing up with her
payment, Aunt Gertrude made her way up to the counter and quickly paid her
bill as Romy stood behind her.The clerk was courteous enough as she was
clad in just a white blouse and a pair of what would become a fashion
statement in the next decade: designer jeans!

"Please do come again", replied the woman clerk courteously as both aunt
and niece left.

"Where to now, Aunt Gert....trude?"

"To Penny's, Montgomery Ward's and hopefully to dinner."

"Where do you want to eat at?"

"How about that new restaurant by Ward's called the Black Angus?"

It did not take them much longer at JC Penny's and Ward's until the TransAm
was parked by the newest restaurant in the neighborhood. As soon as they
were inside, they waited for a table as Aunt Gertrude asked Romy who that
other girl from her high school days was.

"It was just a casual fling with her, Aunt Gertrude. It was long before me
and Julie ever met, but we had to break up because she demanded too much
from me."

"What did she demand from you, Romaine?"

"I'd rather not talk about since we're both inside a public place with
fairly sizeable amount of people", replied Romy cautiously as she looked
around to see if anyone would overhear the soon to intimate conversation.

"You can tell me, I won't tell anyone else, I promise."

Sighing softly to herself, Romaine went into discreet detail about her
fling with Veronica Waynewright just as dinner had arrived at their table.

It was a little after 8 at the Spencer house when Jennifer was in her room
listening to Blondie's first album on the record player that was on the
floor. She was on the floor close beside it when Julie knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's me, your older sis."

"What do you want?"

The Heart of Glass song was playing steadily on the phonograph as Julie
carefully opened the door to enter.

"I just wanted to see what you were listening to."

"Oh, it's actually Stacy's record. She allowed me to borrow it until I can
get enough money to buy one for my own. It's part of this New Wave thing
that's sweeping the country."

"It's rather interesting so to speak", said Julie as she carefully shut the
door to just an inch as she stood up before her.

"What did you want me for, sis?"

"I just wanted to remind you about our movie date this Saturday."

"Meaning the Muppet Movie?"

"Yeah, but also I came in to tell you that I'm going to be going with Romy
either tomorrow or Friday afternoon to visit an acquaintance of hers. She
just called me to see if I could go with her and I told her I did."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because I think you're old enough to understand my relationship with Romy
Woodward and that that mutual acquaintance used to be close friend of
hers."

"How close?"

"Let's just say that Romy and that friend of hers were very, very close to
one another for a brief time, but it was before we met this past November
if you can remember what I told you about that time. I just wanted you to
hear it from me because I would not want you think there was anything bad
happening between me and Romy. Good night, Jennifer."

"Good night, Julie", said the 15-year old girl as her now 20-year old
sister left the room and closed the door behind her.

Jennifer immediately went back to listening to the Blondie record she had
just borrowed from her classmate down the street.

It was finally Friday afternoon when Romy and Julie made their way towards
El Segundo. Veronica moved in with her older brother, Lloyd, in an
apartment that was by the shore as Romy continued to let Julie know of her
past relationship with her. She was astounded, but understood where she was
coming from when she mentioned that Veronica had become a little too
possessive to Romy's own liking. It was less than a few minutes later when
they made it to the white washed apartment complex. They parked the TransAm
next to the exit and got out to walk to the stairs. It was a good paces
until they would have to climb the steps to the second floor where the
Waynewrights lived. Upon arrival, Julie rang the bell.

The door opened to reveal a petite young woman with dark brown hair styled
in a center parted bob. She was dressed in a pair of cutoff shorts and a
white peasant top when Veronica Waynewright let them both in.

"No time, no see, Romy", said Veronica to Romy as she bade them welcome
inside the apartment she shared with her older brother. The walls were
painted white as Romy and Julie planted themselves upon a huge and massive
black couch. They could feel themselves sink deeply within the folds as
Veronica asked them if they needed anything.

"Whatever you have is fine by me", said Julie to Veronica as the petite
hostess excused herself to walk into the the kitchenette just as her older
brother arrived from down the hall.

"Well look what the cat finally dragged back in from the street", commented
Lloyd as walked up to the young women and made them feel even more welcome
inside his apartment. He had on a white shirt and brown corduroy slacks
when shook both of their hands.

"It's been awhile, Lloyd. How's Veronica really been doing?"

"To be truthful, she's been dreaming of you since you both broke up with
each other before you all graduated from Redondo Beach High."

"I'm sorry for hurting her feelings, but she was becoming too possessive of
me for both our own good. I felt trapped by her and needed to get out of
the relationship. I'm sorry if I hurt your sister's feelings, Lloyd."

"It's all right, Romy. She's gotta learn that she can't always be in
control of any relationship she begins with just about anybody. She has to
consider their feelings, too."

"But does she still understand that, Lloyd?"

"I'm sure she has because I made her understand since both our parents
passed away in case you've forgotten."

"I haven't forgotten, Lloyd."

"What's going on, Romy?",asked Julie.

"Both of my folks were killed in an accident a year or so ago and it's been
just me trying to raise Veronica. I've been working at the local insurance
firm when we both heard the news and I've been taking care of her
since. Still, she needs someone who is not afraid to set her straight and
to lay down some rules before any relationship she begins with that person
is to continue onward. I'm hoping that you and Julie can help me with her
on that."

"How can we help, Lloyd?"

"I was hoping to invite you both to have dinner with the two of us. I've
just ordered from the Barro's Pizza down the block and it should be here
any minute."

And as he spoke, the doorbell rang.

"Pizza's here! I'll get it, Veronica!"

It was a little while later at the table by the kitchenette when siblings
and their guests sat down to eat. Veronica could not keep her eyes off of
Romy just as Julie was keeping a wary on them both. It was not about trust,
but more about the need to talk things out between them.

"I hear that you and Romy were close at one point during our high school
days", said Julie to Veronica who was seated across from her.

"It's true", sighed Veronica. "And Lloyd was right. I was too possessive of
her", said Veronica regrefully to Romy's girlfriend.

Touched by her sincerity, she turned to Romy who had heard every word as
well as Lloyd who was seated by his kid sister.

"Are you truly sorry for being too possessive of me, Veronica?",asked Romy
to the bobhaired brunette girl.

"Of course, Romy. Can we still be friends after our falling out?"

There was a silence between the quartet as Romy looked to Julie for a
moment. What Veronica did not know was that Julie had an idea in her head
when they both turned to face the Waynewrights once again.

"Would you care to join me in the bathroom after we eat?"

Surprised by the new girl in Romy's life boldness, she consented. And after
the table had been cleared, Veronica joined Julie in the restroom for an
encounter neither of them would ever forget....

Julie and Veronica stood in front of the mirror with the longer haired
young woman right behind her. They looked at their reflections plaintively
enough until.....

Julie buried her face deeply into the left side of Veronica's neck as the
petite girl with the bobcut tilted to the side to accomodate her. She
closed her eyes as Julie kissed her not once, but thrice. Veronica trembled
and shivered all over her as she was about to embark upon a sexual
adventure unlike any she had experienced since Romy broke up with her. She
moaned softly as Julie continued to kiss her neck to the left side of her
as she closed her eyes to fully appreciate what was being done to her. It
was then that Julie stopped. Sensing something wrong, she was quickly swung
around to stare into Julie's deep blue eyes as she held her upper arms with
both her hands. At that point, she kissed her passionately upon the lips as
the bobhaired girl allowed herself to let go in her embrace. They kissed
each other for a little while longer until she stopped once more to look
deeper and deeper into Veronica's own brown eyes.

"Would you like to go down on me, Veronica?"

"Ohhh yessss....I'd love to", replied Veronica as she slowly knelt down
before her guest's cutoff shorts. Keeping her eyes upon her guest's crotch,
she graciously unbuttoned the button and pulled down the zipper until she
was able to pull them down to her sneakered ankles.

Julie had on no panties much to Veronica's pleasant surprise as she slowly
buried her face deeply into her well furred snatch! The longer haired woman
spread her legs to accomodate her hostess as she placed both of her hands
upon her bobhaired head as she looked down at her.

"Ooooohhhhhhhh....."moaned Julie as she gasped once or twice as Veronica
placed her hands upon her naked buttocks.

Julie had on just the red and yellow striped ruby shirt she wore over to
the apartment as she looked down just a minute more until she reared her
head up and began to pant and hyperventilate. The mirror before them
steamed up sufficiently because of the ecstacy that was being stirred up
between them.Julie's bosom heaved up and down as she kept her head tilted
up and back with her eyes closed as Veronica continued to nibble and suck
upon her clitoris while she stuck her tongue into her birth canal every so
often. Julie would be nearing orgasm any moment until.....

She bucked her hips into Veronica's face as she came into her hostess's
mouth! She gasped and moaned as she experienced the afterglow of such a
pleasurable experience that was had between the both of them. It took a
little longer until at last she looked down into Veronica's brown eyes
widened by innocence as well as relief.

"Now it's my turn", said Julie as she raised Veronica to her feet, spread
her legs apart and knelt down before her. She then buried her face deep
into her crotch as the act was repeated upon her.

Meanwhile....

Romy and Lloyd were outside the bathroom listening in with their eyes
planted to the door. They were tempted to giggle, but barely managed to
keep themselves quiet enough for Julie to finish going down on Veronica.
Lloyd's kid sister let out a loud and deep moan which prompted both boy and
girl to quickly return to the couch in the nick of time as the bathroom
door opened. Lloyd and Romy sat on the couch inches from each other with
their hands to themselves as Julie and Veronica returned to notice smiles
across their faces.

"Have you two been eavesdropping in on us?"

"Why no, Julie. Why would we wanna do a thing like that?"

For the rest of the evening, nothing more was said between the four of them
even as it was time for both Romy and Julie to go home. However, the fun
was not over just yet....not by a long shot, that is....
