I landed on the bed and I felt Kelly pull the sheet up over me. I guess

what I have been told it was only a couple of dates. Anyway one night Tyann
meets Casey and that's it. Casey and Tyann got married and were together
for almost 5 years, is that right Stephanie? Was it five years?" Sara
turned to Stephanie. However Stephanie's gaze was fixed on Casey and Alex
standing outside.

"Hmm..yeah that's right," Stephanie said turning back to the conversation.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

"Alex...wait," Casey called out.

"Why, so I can watch why you take another one," I said.

"That is not what it is. Didn't you see everyone else around the table?"

"No, I was fixed on Kelly. What are you doing here," I asked.

"I am having lunch with my partner Sara and my two best friends, and Kelly
who was invited by Sara. Kelly said that she was meeting someone here also,
I put it together as soon as you walked in."

"How long have you been with Sara," I asked. "She is the one that I saw you
with a few weeks ago wasn't it?" Curious about how long Casey had waited.

"Yeah. We have only been together about 8 weeks now. It was time to move
on. Alex you know what Tyann meant to me. I did not take this decision
lightly, it hasn't been easy on either Sara or myself."

"I know Casey, Tyann thought you walked on water. Every time I saw her all
she could talk about was you this and you that. Maybe I over reacted," I
said.

"It looks as though Sara and Kelly are going to be friends, it might do us
good to be at least civil to each other while they are around," Casey
suggested.

"You know Casey, I knew the moment that Tyann saw you, that I had lost
her. I have no idea why she played hard to get all that time. All I ever
wanted for her was to be happy and that was to be with you."

"Neither do I, but I know that I fell in love with her the moment that I
looked into her eyes. Do you think that we could be at least civil when we
have to be together, I don't expect us to be friends, but for Sara I will
do what I can," Casey said.  "Yeah, I think I can manage."

"Just do me one favor," she asked and I nodded. "Just don't bring up Tyann
around Sara, it's still a little sore of a subject right now."

"I can do that. We had better get back in there. In case you haven't
noticed we have two beautiful woman looking at us with a rather interested
look on their face," I said and Casey looked at what I was referring to. I
turned with her. I watched Casey's eyes and could see how much she cared
for Sara, they were definitely in love. "One more thing Casey, it's not
going to be too much for me to be around is it, being a constant reminder."

"No, I have come to terms with what happened. I know it must have been hard
for you too, to come upon that accident and realize that it was her."

"It was rough, I knew that I would not be able to tell you about it. It's
good that you had DJ and Stephanie to help you."

"Yeah, they were my lifesavers. Can we call a truce?" Casey stuck her hand
out to me. I reached out to take her hand and we both smiled, feeling a
great weight had been lifted off our shoulders. "Now I am starving to
death."

When we walked back in Sara got up and met us halfway.

"I take it you're Sara," I said when she stopped. I reached out my hand,
"I'm Alex."

"Alex it is nice to meet you," she said and then moved closer to Casey and
put an arm around her. "Baby is everything okay?" I walked away to let them
have a private moment.

I sat down beside Kelly who was just looking at me. "What," I asked. And
she just shook her head. I turned to Stephanie and DJ. "Girls, it's nice to
see you again."

"You too, Alex, how have you been," DJ said. I could see a look of
reservation on Stephanie's face.

"Just so that you know, I asked her if it would be a problem if I stayed
and she said that she would be okay. I don't want to make this any harder
than it has already been. I really mean that. I harbor no hard feelings and
we are good."

"Okay, we just worry about her...Sara has been so good for her," Stephanie
said. We all looked over at them, they were standing there with their arms
round each other staring into each other's eyes and it was obvious that
they were the only two in the room. I turned back to Kelly.  "Sorry for
being late," I told her.

"You do know everyone, I am convinced now." She had a smile on her face.

"I guess," and then I lowered my voice so only she could hear me. "I didn't
mean to cause a scene."

"I was just worried when you came in and then walked right back out." She
whispered in my ear. "I understand now. Sara told me a little about it."

"Okay, is there anything else you would like to know," I asked.

"Not now, maybe later. Let's just try to enjoy lunch." I nodded. The rest
of lunch went smoothly with all of us getting along, even Casey and I. I
really harbored no hard feelings towards her. That was a long time ago and
besides she had suffered enough. When we all got up to leave Kelly held me
back behind the group.

"Do you mind giving me a ride back to work, I came with Sara," she asked.

"Sure I can do that." I figured she wanted to ask me about earlier but on
the drive back she didn't ask me anything about it. When I dropped her off
at the front door she leaned over and gave me a quick kiss and said that
she would see me later. And then she was gone. I stared after her until the
doors closed and I could no longer see her.

As I drove away I decided to go see my parents. I really had nothing else
to do today. On the way I kept thinking about the way Kelly got out of the
truck. It was like we just met again, not had been having sex just about
every time that we got the opportunity for the last two weeks. Oh well, I
said to myself. I put it in the back of my mind. Once I got to mom and dads
it was completely out of thought, until my mom asked me about her.

"Alexandra, how is that girl Kelly doing, are you still seeing her," mom
asked.

"She is fine I guess, and I guess you could say that we were seeing each
other." I wasn't really sure how to answer that question. How do you tell
your mom that you are just having sex with the girl? It was true. Every
time that we were together we didn't do much talking.

"I really like her. You know you ought to settle down one of these days
girl."

"I know, but I have yet to meet someone who makes me want to spend the rest
of my life with her." Which was true, I hadn't yet.

"Well Kelly seems like a good girl," mom said.

"Mom, let me pick my own will ya."

"I will, I just want to see you happy."

"I know you do," I said thinking that maybe I should try to get to know
Kelly some more.

	* * * * * * * * * *

I left my parents house and headed home. I called Kelly on the way home. I
wanted to invite her over for dinner. I had to leave a message for her,
told her to call me if she was interested. It was only four when I got
home, so I started some laundry and sat down on the couch to read some. At
a little past six I heard a knock on the door.

"Hi," I said to her as I opened the door.

"Hello to you to Alexandra," she smiled as she came in.

"I wish you would stop calling me that."

"Nope." She started laughing. "What is for dinner?"

"Nothing," I said.

"What do you mean nothing you called and invited me to dinner."

"Yeah, I told you to call me if you were interested and you didn't," I said
as serious as I could with a straight face.

"You are kidding right?"

"No." I felt the smile start to tug at the corners of my mouth so I walked
past her and back to the couch.

"Alexandra."

"Kelly," I copied her. It was getting harder and harder to keep from
laughing. She was standing where I left her with her hands on hips. I could
see the look of self-doubt in her eyes.

"Okay, I will go. Tomorrow I will return your call." She turned to go.

"Well you know...I maybe could be persuaded to cook something." I shrugged.

"And just what would it take to persuade you to do that?" God her grin was
sexy as hell.

"I am not sure but I know that you could think of something. I have some
pork chops that I need to cook. I could throw them on the grill and make a
salad to go with them. It shouldn't take too long." I watched her walk
slowly to the couch and stand in front of me. She just stood there and
looked down at me. Then she kneeled on the couch straddling my legs while
her hands were laying on the couch on either side of my shoulders and then
she lowered her head and covered my lips with hers.  After she broke off
our kiss she pulled back and looked me in the eyes.

"Does that convince you," she asked and then licked her lips.

"I think so..." I nodded, but I kept my eyes glued to her lips.
