True Love-4

Chapter IV

I realized that I was being unfair to Lexi it's not her fault, it was MY
fault. She doesn't deserve that kind of treatment. She is so special that
hurting her is the last thing that I would do.

I learned how to control my feelings for her. I accepted the fact that we
can't be together, that we can only be friends. "FRIENDS"

Nicole and I has just finished our lunch as we headed back to our office, I
saw a familiar face waiting at the lobby of our building.  * Paul? What on
earth is he doing here! *
	"Hey Paul, what are you doing here?"
	"Can I have a minute with you?" as he looked up to us. "In
private?"
	"Umm, I'll go ahead, see you later." Nicole said.

	"Ok, have a sit. What can I do for you?" I asked seriously. When
it's all about Lexi I am dead serious of it.
	"I don't want to waste your time Alex. Do you like Lexi?" he asked
as he tapped his fingers on the table.
	"Huh? Excuse me?"
	"I mean, do you have feelings for her? You know what I mean."  He
asked.
	"You know what Paul, if you're having problems don't include me on
that, all right?" as my temper is building up.
	"Alex, this is hard for me to ask. Please answer It. Do you like
her?" he pleaded.
	I paused for a while to think of what the right words to
say. "Whoa, ok. Yes, I like her. But you don't have to worry Paul, I know
the two of you are involve and I will stay away from it. I will respect
your relationship ok? I promised you that. You can count on it! Scout
promise!"  "Lexi and I broke up--" As he clears his throat.  "Sorry to hear
that." I said.  "I don't know if I should say this but you made Lexi happy
without you knowing it. I mean, she likes you a lot she sees you not just a
friend but more than friends do. We've been together for eight months but I
haven't seen her so happy like that." Paul stated.
	"Wait up Paul, what are you trying to imply? I don't understand!"
	"She loves you!"
	"You're crazy, why are you saying this to me? I'm sorry Paul, but
are you blaming me about your break-up?"
	"Because I love her I can give up my happiness just to see her
happy. And yes, I was hurt by the fact/truth that she left me for you, but
I want her to be happy. And you're the only one who can give that happiness
to her and I'm not."
	"I don't know what to say! You're making me laugh." I laugh
nervously.
	"I won't be here if I'm not serious."
	"So, what do you want me to do?" I asked.
	"Tell her how you feel, that simple!" he said.
	"What? No, I can't. What you're asking is not easy." I can't
believe hearing those things from him. I don't know if I should be happy or
what. I have mixed feeling about it.
	"Why? You both love each other. Then why wait? Come on think about
it. You'll be happy with the outcome." He said smilingly.
	"I don't know. Anyway, thank you!" I said.
	"Just make sure you won't do anything to hurt her!" As he extends
his right hand for a friendly handshake.

	I came home and find Lexi watching t.v in the living room. The
moment I saw her everything comes back with the conversation I had with
Paul. I really don't know what to do.  I'm sad that they broke up and the
guy really loves her. I knew Paul has good intentions for her but it
doesn't make sense anymore.

	"Hey!" She nearly jumps out on the couch "You scared me, how long
you're standing there?" she asked.
	"Sorry? I just walked-in." I said. As I settle myself beside her
and intently stare at her.
	"Hey, you just kept staring at me, something on my face?" she
asked.
	"No, no, Sorry, I'll go to my room, night! Wait, umm--"
	"Yeah?"  "Umm, Never mind. Sorry!" * I'm nervous, should I tell her
that Paul talked to me? * "Alex, come on you're going to say some thing?"
her beautiful face lit up.
	"I'll go and change first Ok?" I said as I stand up and headed to
my room.
	* I wonder what it was? * Lexi asked herself.

After a few minutes, she's still in the living room transfixed to the t.v.
I sit on the other end of the couch and watch the movie for a while. I
can't focus on the movie I was thinking of something else.
	* What should I say? Come on think! * *Sigh* "Paul went to my
office this afternoon." I said still looking at the screen.
	"Paul?"
	"Yeah, we talked. He still loves you.--" *Am I doing the right
thing?*
	"Alex --" as Lexi moved a little closer to me.  "He loves you that
much that he ignores his own feeling for your own sake." * Am I what being
a saint here? * "You don't understand! What do you want, keep on our
relationship and ignores my own feelings and happiness? Is that what you
want? Continue to live a lie? Pretend? Huh?"
	I just turn away from her and said no. She gently places her hand
under my chin and turns my face towards her. "I love you!" as tears falls
on her face. "This is the first time I have deeply fallen in love with
someone --" I gently wiped the tears on her face and give her a hug. "I
should've told you this before but I got scared I'm sorry. Alex."
	"Why you didn't tell me right away? Just because you're scared?" I
inquired.
	" I thought I see in you my sister, but when I saw you with Nicole
at the restaurant, it hit me, I got jealous. I knew it's not a sister thing
anymore, I knew it's more than that."
	"I'm sorry, if I cause you so much trouble. Lexi, I love you too."
We look in each other's eyes and see the love that we've been looking
for. For the first time, I felt her lips unto mine. Our first kiss
together, the kiss that sealed our lives forever. A kiss meant to be the
beginning of forever.
