Chapter 8

The Weston women's soccer team ran two session practices for the
next week or so. They had a round robin tournament they played in on
Friday and Sunday before classes started. The tournament was in the
Pontiac area were Oakwood University was hosting the tournament. It would
be a good change from practicing and scrimmaging against each other.

The team was spending the weekend in Pontiac at a hotel. Since it
was the first road trip for the freshman, Curtis laid down some ground
rules before the team boarded the vans.

"Although some of you may have other ideas, the purpose for this
trip is to win games. We need to start the season on the right foot."
Curtis eyed his team. Keegan watched his face go stern as AJ whispered
something in Carol's ear. "I have the room assignments. There will be no
swapping. I do not care about personal feelings. You are all adults and
you can get over it."

Keegan silently prayed that she would not be paired with AJ. Since
Rabbit's party, AJ stayed clear of their dorm room. Gwen had told AJ off
at the party and it seemed to have an effect on AJ. Gwen made it very
obvious that she did not want anything to do with AJ.

Curtis had not given them the starting lineup. Keegan and AJ were
interchanged as the striker or halfback. Curtis began to read off the
rooming list.

"Lerner with McGregory. " Gwen jabbed Keegan's side as she was
placed with the goalkeeper. "Garry and Sullivan" Keegan was placed with
one of the sophomore's that had not seen a lot of playing time. "Dailey
and James." Keegan almost burst into laughter at the face Janet made.
Gwen elbowed her to stop.

"You are being bad." Gwen scolded in her ear.

"Ten bucks says that Janet would be in your and Rose's room."
Keegan whispered under her breath to Gwen.

"Let's go ladies we have a drive ahead of us." Curtis said as he
climbed in the passenger seat of the front van. Most of the upper classman
were in the second van leaving the under class man to ride with the
coaching staff. Gwen leaned against the window as Keegan and Janet piled
in to the seat with her. The drive to Pontiac was only two and half hours
but Keegan leaned on Gwen and tried to sleep a bit.

"Try not to miss me tonight." Gwen quietly teased. Keegan opened
her eyes and looked at Gwen. This would actually be the first night that
they would not sleep in the same bed. She had never thought about the road
trips.

"Why didn't you wait 'til after the game to remind me? This is
going to stink."

"You better change your tone or its going to a long season.
Especially with the road trips." Gwen lightly touched Keegan's forearm.

"Half of the games are at home. And some of the games, we will not
be staying overnight." Keegan reasoned out loud. "I think I can handle the
situation." Keegan closed her eyes and leaned against Gwen as she settled
in for the drive.

Oakwood, Weston, Valpo and South Bend were participating in the
weekend season opening tournament. Weston would play South Bend this
evening at six o'clock. Oakwood and Valpo would play in the night game.
The teams with the best records would meet in the championship game on
Sunday. Keegan hoped that Weston would perform well. Practices had been
tough. She was correct in the fact that Curtis wanted his team to run.
Trying to get the team to work together was another challenge. AJ seemed
to be the negative force behind each issue that came up. When AJ would
start to complain, than she would get Carol and a few of the upper classman
to contest. Soon Keegan found out that she was the scapegoat for why a
play did not work. She showed her frustrations with the team after
practice last week. She and Gwen went out to the movies after a rough day
on the field. Gwen tried to hold her hand as they walked to the theater
Keegan just pulled away.

"What's wrong?" Gwen said as she fell into step next to her.

"What's right? Is an easier question to answer?" She shouted.
Keegan stopped and looked at Gwen. "I'm sorry." Keegan apologized. "It's
really frustrating. You saw what happen today. "Keegan referred to that
afternoon's practice.

Curtis had sent in a play for the offense to run. AJ deliberately
set up the play so that Keegan was off sides. Curtis was blowing his
whistle every other minute. Keegan was so upset and angry that Curtis
pulled her out of the line up. She sat on the bench and watched as AJ ran
the play as planned.

"Why are you yelling at me?" Gwen asked. "I realize that you are
mad. I understand what AJ and some of the upper classman are doing. They
are doing it to me also. If we start, if we start in a game for Weston, it
means that two upperclassman are sitting the bench. Positions that they
played in last year."

"The team sucked last year." Keegan threw her hands in the air.
"Sucked. What did they win? Four games. What did they score? Fifteen
times all last year."

"I am not arguing with you." Gwen sat down on a near by bench.
"Kee, it's going to take time. They will come around. You can only do so
much. We can't beat any opponent if there is not some type of teamwork on
the field."

"I know that." Keegan sat down next to her. She leaned her head
back on the bench. "Its frustrating. Aren't you frustrated?"

"Yes, I am but at this moment. " Gwen put her hand on Keegan's
knee. "I would rather spend time with you and not talk about soccer."
Keegan smiled at Gwen's statement.

"Okay, no talk about soccer or the team. You are starting to sound
like Dailey." Keegan commented as she got to her feet. "Come on let's go
see the movie."

"I am holding you to your word. If you behave you may get a
reward."

"Promises promises.." Keegan took her hand and walked to the
theater.

The vans rolled into the hotel parking lot around two o'clock.
Keegan smiled as she realized she had slept on Gwen's shoulder most of the
drive. She stretched her arms and yawned.

"Nice of you to join the rest of us, Garry." Curtis said as he
looked back from his seat. "Lerner how do you handle all that snoring?"

"I think I just got use to it." Gwen answered.

"Thank God she is your roommate. Poor Lisa you better get some
head phones."

"I was not snoring." Keegan looked around for some confirmation.

"Keep thinking that way." Janet said. "Curtis are you sure we
can't swap rooms? Lisa will be deprived of sleep by Sunday."

"Positive Dailey. So do not get any ideas." Curtis said as he got
out of the van and went into the hotel with Ginny, the assistant coach.

"You're just trying to get out of rooming with AJ." Keegan teased
her.

"It's my turn this week just wait until its your turn." Janet said
as she pulled open the side door of the van. "I would love to be a fly on
the wall for that show."

"Funny." Keegan said as she scrambled out the door behind her.
Her leg was stiff and she needed to stretch it. "When do we play and where
is this place?"

"The field is about five minutes that way." Gwen pointed towards
the highway. "I played here a few times."

	"Is your family still coming?"

"They are supposed too." Gwen said knowing that her family had
disappointed her in the past. "Mom, Dad, and the respective families."
Gwen rolled her eyes.

Keegan did not press the topic. Bill and Sarah were coming down
for the game this weekend. Keegan wanted to ask Gwen to go out to dinner
with her parents, but she wasn't sure what the plan was with Gwen's family.
Her parents always tried to make her games. They tried not to stay over
night because of the girls. Ashley hated going to Keegan's soccer games.
Megan on the other hand loved watching Keegan play. Keegan had worked with
Megan over the summer when she was trying to get ready for Weston. Megan
was a pretty good player.

"Let's go ladies!" Curtis said as he held open the hotel door.
"You need to get settled, dressed and back here by three thirty" Keegan
headed up to the second floor. She was rooming with Lisa Sullivan. She
had spoken to the quiet girl on occasion but did not know her. Lisa was in
the room first. She had unpacked her bag and had her uniform sitting on
the bed.

"Are we wearing whites?" Keegan asked as she saw the uniform
sitting out.

"Yep, I hate the whites. If it rains, you can see right through
the material." Lisa said.

"Let's hope it doesn't rain." Keegan said trying to break the ice
with the sophomore. Lisa started to laugh.

"Let's hope." She said as she sat on the bed.

The team took the vans over the stadium. Curtis had them sitting
in the locker room. On the board he had the plays and the defensive
highlights. He made it a point before every game to go over the game plan
and to focus the defense on the opponent's strengths. "South Bend has a
quick front line. Their go to play is Michelle Powell. She is a sophomore,
but she plays like a veteran." Keegan had played against Michelle before
in club play. She was fast and a good shot. "Watch the outlet and the
goalie has a quick release. Also if we can score early, it frustrates
them." Curtis looked at his team. He had been keeping the starting line
up under his hat for the week. He used multiple lineups during the last
week of practice. "Starting in goal, Rose. " Curtis went through the
defensive line up. Janet was a bit disappointed that she was not named.
"Up front, Shannon, Gwen and Keegan" Gwen was smiling when she heard her
name. When Curtis read off Keegan' name as a starting forward, there was a
gasp in the air.

"Keegan you are starting as the striker. AJ, Carol and Nicole are
in the midfield. We'll start out this way. Keegan, you have a history
against Powell. I have seen the tapes." Curtis gave the returning
starters a stern look. "You have the speed. We need to be aware of where
she is. I want you to watch the off sides. Any questions?" Curtis pulled
them together.

Keegan felt as if all eyes were on her. Gwen told her to relax a
few times as they jogged the length of the field.

"If AJ wanted to hurt me before, she wants to kill me now." Keegan
said as they turned to head back to their bench.

"Don't worry about AJ, you need to concentrate on Michelle Powell."
Gwen looked over at the South Bend sideline. Michelle Powell was
stretching her legs out behind her back. "Not too hard she's cute."

"That's wasn't in the scouting report. You should tell Curtis to
add it to his defensive strategy." Keegan smiled as Gwen did a fake laugh.

"You girls ready to play?" Rabbit asked as they headed towards the
bench. "Don't worry about AJ just play your games." Rabbit and Rose
huddle the starting line up at the top of the goalie box.

"This is the first game. We need to work together. Let's start
the season out on a good note. Watch for Powell. Stay on sides. "Rose
looked around at her starting line up. "We need to work together." Rose
emphasized her words towards AJ and Carol.

"We are going to control this game. Score fast and keep it in
their face." Rabbit shouted to pump up her teammates. "Everyone in!"
Rabbit shouted as the team put there hands into the center of the circle.
"On three....team. One..two ...three!"

	"Team!" The Weston shouted.

"Nervous?" Keegan asked Gwen as they headed to the centerline.
"Shaking is more like it." Gwen answered. "You?"

"Ready to puke. Looks like we don't have time to back out."
Keegan took her spot in the middle of the field. Rabbit and AJ
started the ball off. Rabbit passed it back to Keegan who pushed through
the first line of South Bend players. She passed the ball to AJ, who ran
the sideline. AJ passed the ball to Nicole. The defender cut off the pass
and headed towards Weston goal. Keegan caught Powell moving down the
sideline. Keegan positioned herself between the ball and Powell. She
waited for the ball to be passed to Powell. She broke into a sprint to
beat Powell to the ball. She turned the ball the opposite way. Kicking
the ball to the left she dropped the ball five yards in front of Gwen.
Gwen took the ball towards the goal. At the last moment, she kicked the
ball to Shannon. Shannon took the shot. The ball skidded past the
goalkeeper.

Shannon celebrated her goal by jumping into Gwen's arms.

"Great pass!" Shannon smile widened as Nicole and AJ congratulated
her. Keegan smiled as Keegan ran up to the group. They hugged as the
walked back the middle of the field.

"Sweet!" Keegan said as she gave Rabbit a high five. "Way to pass
the ball." Keegan pointed out Gwen's assist.

"It's not over yet kids." Nicole stated as South Bend kicked the
ball up to the middle of the field. "Let's go."

The game continued on. Keegan kept an eye on Michelle Powell. The
one break away Powell had, Keegan was able to slide tackle the ball out of
bounds before any damage was done. Powell swore at her. Keegan just
ignored her remark. Powell had not liked playing against Keegan in
previous matches.

The inbound pass was stolen by Carol. The ball was passed up to
Shannon. Shannon centered the ball to Keegan. Nicole and AJ filled the
lanes as the ball was passed ahead. Keegan circled back towards the center
of the field waiting for the release pass. AJ took the ball towards the
end line. The South Bend defender got the ball. Instead of kicking the
ball to the sideline the defender kicked the ball to the middle. Keegan
saw the defender making the mistake and took advantage of it. She slipped
in front of the defender and cut off the pass. She turned and whizzed the
ball into the back of the net. The goalie did not have time to react to
Keegan's shot. The referee blew his whistle and signaled goal. Gwen was
immediately jumping on Keegan's back after her goal. Rabbit wrapped her
arms around Keegan's shoulders.

"Trying to show up the veterans. I think we have scored more today
than in the first five games from last year." Rabbit commented as they
walked to the circle.

"That was a freshman mistake." AJ stated as she lined up for the
start.

"I think that defender is a junior." Keegan answered the junior.

Weston went on to win the game three to zero. As they lined up
after the game, Michelle Powell grabbed Keegan's hand.

"I thought you died." Gwen and Nicole heard her statement. Keegan
was in shock. The South Bend player behind Powell expression confirmed the
statement had been actually made. She felt the malice and contempt in
Powell's comment.

"Keegan," Nicole called to her. "Keegan." Keegan turned around at
the sound of her name. "Are you okay?" Nicole glanced at Gwen. Gwen was
staring at Keegan.

"Why? What did I do?" Keegan said her voice cracked.

"You made her work. She is angry because she lost. Plus you made
her look inferior." Nicole stated. Gwen took a step towards Keegan.

"The accident happen for a reason. " Gwen repeated her words.
"You are here for a reason. Don't let anyone take that from you." Gwen
gave her a hug. Nicole gave her a hug.

Curtis had stopped and talked with the coach from South Bend. She
congratulated him on the win. Powell walked past and refused to
acknowledge Curtis.

"It doesn't seem that Ms. Powell likes anyone wearing white this
evening." Nicole remarked. "Come on let's go! We have some celebrating
to do,"

"We have a curfew." Keegan said as a small smile appeared as she
realized that Nicole was teasing her. "Thanks. Nice game ladies."
Curtis stood in the locker room waiting for the woman to settle
down. The first win of the season was achieved. He actually enjoyed
watching the game. The team played well together. There were some issues
that needed to be worked out. He nodded to Ginny. The assistant coach
began to read out the stats for the game. They did surprising well for the
first game.

"Whoever we play next is not going to be as surprised. We used
some of our new players to elevate our game. Frankly, no one saw it
coming. Gwen, nice assist. Keegan way to play the ball. Smart
ladies...play smart. Let's go back to the hotel. Ginny and Josh are going
to take the team to dinner. Anyone not going to dinner with the team has a
curfew at eleven. Those of you that have family here, make certain you
clear it through Ginny first. I am staying to watch the night game. "
Curtis finished his after the game speech.

Throwing her spikes into her duffel bag Keegan along with most of
the team decided to shower at the hotels and not the smelly visitor locker
room that Oakwood was offering.

Gwen piled in the van next to her. Janet seemed a bit down about
not playing. In fact Curtis did not substitute any players. Tara had
paced the sideline and shouted encouragement to Rose for every stop she
made. It would be hard for Tara to get playing time this year. Maybe if
Weston was up by a number of goals. After last season record, it did not
appear to be likely.

Keegan walked with Gwen up to her room. Rose had decided to stay
with Curtis and watch the next game. Keegan started to walk down to her
room after Gwen had opened the door.

"Kee come in for a bit." Gwen said.

"I don't want the team to talk. " Keegan looked around.

"Five minutes...we can't get in trouble for five minutes."

"You and I ..." Keegan pointed to Gwen and back to herself. "We
can get in trouble in two minutes."

"Come inside for a second." Keegan walked into the room. Rose's
things were spread across the bed near the window. Gwen walked behind and
wrapped her arms around Keegan's waist. "I just wanted to hold you." Gwen
confessed. "You have been so close all day and it's was very tempting to
kiss you on the drive from Weston. Taking the easy way out by sleeping.
Torturing me the whole way by cuddling on my shoulder." Gwen kissed her
ear lobe.

"Five minutes and I am out of here." Keegan turned and kissed Gwen
on the mouth. "You are already getting me going." Keegan said between
kisses. Gwen kissed her neck and Keegan slipped her hands across Gwen ass.
Gwen let out a moan as Keegan kissed her ear. Gwen pushed Keegan down on
her bed. Keegan let out a giggle. She smiled as Gwen straddled her waist
and began to move back and forth.

"What are you doing?" Keegan laughed.

"Taking advantage of you!" Gwen said as she took Keegan's hands
and pulled them over her head. She captivated her wrists and held them
above Keegan's head. Gwen continued to kiss Keegan. Her lips captured her
ear and neck. Gwen released Keegan's hands as she moved her hands to
Keegan's face. "You scored a goal." Gwen kissed her on the lips. Keegan
put her hands on Gwen's waist.

"I am trying to score again." Keegan said as she kissed Gwen back.
She lifted her hips to push against Gwen's bottom.

"I believe you will score again." Gwen laughed as she lifted her
shirt off. She looked at the clock. "We have time." Gwen said as she
pulled Keegan shirt and sports bra off. Keegan removed the hair tie that
held back blonde locks. She ran her fingers through the tresses as she sat
up and pulled Gwen closer to her. She could feel Gwen's sports bra rubbing
against her chest. She lifted Gwen's bra over her head. As they kissed,
their breasts rubbed against each other. The peaks played against one
another. Gwen's knee went between Keegan thighs. Keegan wrapped her legs
around Gwen's waist. Gwen dipped her head to kiss Keegan's breast. Keegan
held her breath as Gwen kissed and nuzzled her breast. Her mouth took the
orb in and began to suck. Keegan held Gwen's head to her chest as Gwen
tasted and kissed each breast. Her other hand hooked onto the waistband of
Gwen's shorts and began to slid them off. Gwen's hand replaced her mouth
as her fingers pinched and fondled Keegan's breast. Gwen pushed the globes
together as she kissed each one.

"God, you're breasts are great." The pink orbs peaked under her
touch. Gwen's continued to kiss and fondle her breasts. Her lips began to
move lower. She lifted her hips to let her shorts slide off. Keegan's
stomach convulsed as Gwen's tongue traced a line to her belly
button. Keegan began to laugh as Gwen tickled her. Keegan moved her
fingers across the Gwen's bottom. She slipped her hand lower and to touch
Gwen's labia from behind. Gwen shot up with Keegan's touch. She smiled as
she held on to Keegan's waist as she continued to trail her kisses lower.
Keegan held her breath as she felt Gwen's hot breath on her pussy. Gwen's
kisses continued. She spread Keegan's legs. Gwen's tongue lapped the
juices that dripped from Keegan's body. Gwen dug into Keegan's cavern and
found a sensitive area that made Keegan call out her name.

"Oh oh.." Keegan said as Gwen continued to press against her
vulva. Keegan pushed Gwen's head deeper. Her legs wrapped around Gwen's
body and urged her deeper. Keegan grabbed at the headboard as Gwen sucked
at her clit and her fingers enter her. Keegan felt the orgasm building.
She knew liquid was flowing out of her, she could feel the release
building. She let out a scream as a white light filled her head. Gwen
continued to feed on her labia and stroked the length of her valley.
Keegan held tight to the head board as she climaxed.

"Stop...stop" Keegan said as she tried to settle her reaction to
Gwen's touch. Gwen smiled as she wiped the milky sheen off her face as she
climbed up Keegan's body. Keegan tried to catch her breath. Gwen kissed
her and settled into the crook of her arm. Keegan's chest rose and fell as
she tried to calm herself down. She and Gwen had been together for three
weeks. Each time that they were together it seemed to get more and more
intense. Keegan did not speak as she moved to be on top of Gwen. Although
her breathing was still labored, she kissed Gwen on her lips and her face.
She could taste her release on Gwen's skin. She smiled and continued to
kiss her girlfriend. Keegan moved her hand between Gwen's legs and felt
the wetness at her apex. Gwen moved against her hand. Keegan dipped
deeper touching Gwen as she felt the heat from her body and the wetness of
her desire. She moved two fingers into her vulva and began the push
against her clit with her thumb. Gwen reacted to her touch immediately.
Keegan's thumb circled the enlarge member and fondled. From the noises
that Gwen was making, Keegan knew that she had touched the right area. She
kissed Gwen passionately and trailed a line of kisses from her lips to her
breasts. Keegan began to increase the cadence of her motions as her mouth
captured Gwen's breast. Each peaked and popped against her tongue as she
licked and stroked. Gwen's legs wrapped tight against Keegan's
back. Faster and faster her body pressed into Gwen's. She gave up the
assault on her breast and focused on Gwen's climax. Gwen held fast as she
continued to rock with her.

Against her fingers, she felt Gwen's muscles constrict and her
upper body convulse as Keegan wrapped her in her arms and held her tight.
Gwen muffled a cry as she kissed Keegan's neck. They lay on the bed
wrapped in each other's arms for a moment. They're breathing heavy and the
sweat beading on their flesh. Gwen rolled to her side and pulled Keegan to
her chest. Keegan snuggled close. Just as she closed her eyes to nap, the
phone rang. Gwen waited until the third ring and answered it with a groan.

"Hello." She said as she sat up in bed. She was leaning over
Keegan and pulling the room phone closer. Keegan nipped at her
breast. "Hey Dad." Gwen said as she swatted at Keegan. "No, I haven't
gone to dinner. Were you at the game?" Gwen shook her head. "Dinner
sounds good. I have to clear it though the assistant coach. Are you
coming to the game tomorrow? " Keegan leaned as an elbow and watched the
interchange between Gwen and her Dad. "Okay..okay...I can probably be
ready in a half hour. Are you at home? I can call your cell." Gwen wrote
down the number on the pad next to the phone. "I'll call you back in a
bit."

Gwen put the phone back on the cradle and looked at Keegan. "Do
you want to meet the conservative half of the family?"

"Sure..sounds like you really don't want to go."

"I don't." Gwen said as she sat up. She picked up the phone and
called the assistant coach to get permission for Keegan and herself to go
to dinner with her father. Keegan walked a

few steps behind Gwen as followed her through he lobby of the
hotel. There was a tall well build man standing by the entranceway.
Sitting next to him was a conservatively dressed woman in a suit. Keegan
immediately looked at her outfit. She hope that they were not going to any
fancy restaurant for dinner.

"Hello Gwen." Her father was cool in his greeting.

"Dad...Theresa. "Gwen answered his greeting. "This is my friend
Keegan." Keegan was very conscious of her slightly wrinkled polo shirt and
the pair of fade jean shorts she had on as Theresa, Gwen's stepmother eyed
her outfit. Gwen had dress in a sundress and looked stunning.

	"Nice to meet you...Ke"

"Keegan." Keegan stuck out her hand. "Nice to meet both of you.
I've heard a lot about you both." Keegan embellished the fact that Gwen
rarely spoke of her family in any way.

"Is the club okay? " Jeff asked his daughter. Gwen shook her
head.

"Its too far, by the time we get there eat and get back, it will
after curfew." She turned and gave Keegan a reassuring smile. "What about
Tony's? It's right down the street. Where is Evan?'

"I thought it best that he stay home to study. School started last
week. How are you're classes going?"

"I'll let you know next week. We are just at school early because
of the team."

"Lacrosse right." Theresa looked so proud of her self to name the
sport her stepdaughter played.

"Soccer." Gwen seemed a bit irritated with the woman.

"Tony's it is. " Jeff said as they got into his new luxury SUV.
Keegan could tell that Gwen did not want to spend time with her father or
her step mom. She was quiet in the car and did not make eye contact with
Keegan. The restaurant was not far from the hotel and they were seated
quickly.

"So Keegan you play on the soccer team also." Theresa asked.

	"Yes."

"You seem younger that Gwen for some reason...." Jeff chimed in.
He was a large man build like a football player.

"I do believe I am older than Gwen...I'll be nineteen in December."
Keegan raised her eyebrows at Gwen, who shook her head.

"I guess you are. " Jeff eyed his daughter and her friend across
the table. "Now Gwen what happen to your roommate? You mom said that you
have new one."

"The girl go homesick and left after one day. Keegan and I room
together."

"Really..you play soccer and room together. " Jeff's tone became
suspicious. "What else do you have going on?"

"Dad..stop." Gwen pleaded, as she looked at Keegan and back to her
father "Why do you have to start?"

"Keegan.." Jeff called to her. Keegan wasn't certain where this
conversation was going but she was not comfortable.

"Sir." Keegan said as she looked as Gwen who was shaking her head.

"Has my daughter told you about her choice in lifestyle?"

"Excuse me?" Keegan questioned. There would be not way that
Gwen's Dad would be this bold.

"Dad..." Gwen pleaded. " This doesn't have anything to do with
Keegan. Why don't you just leave things alone."

"I think it has a lot to do with your roommate. She is going to be
sharing living quarters with you. I do not think it fair to have her not
be aware of your choices. And Allison James. She is on the team with you
isn't she."

"Do not blame this on AJ."

"Well, who should I blame it on?" Jeff was having a hard time
controlling his temper.

"Jeff." Theresa tried to stop her husband from going farther with
the conversation.

"My daughter, this beautiful lovely creature is a lesbian. I think
that you should be aware of that fact." Jeff had a smug look on his face
and lean back in his chair. Gwen looked as if she was in shock.

"Mr. Lerner." Keegan looked at Gwen who was on brink of tears. "I
haven't know your daughter that long, but if she chooses to be a lesbian or
gay. That's her choice. It's not your choice or my choice, it's her
choice. As her father, I would at least hope that you appreciate the
honestly and trust she has in you to live her life openly. I feel sorry
for you because you don't even know her. I am aware of her choice. Thank
you for letting me know your opinion on the matter. If you excuse me, I
have lost my appetite." Keegan stood up and set her cloth napkin on the
table. "Gwen, you are welcome at my house anytime. "

Keegan got up and walked out of the restaurant. She did not expect
Gwen to chase after her. She was grateful at this moment to have Bill and
Sarah as her parents. She stopped at the cashier and asked her to call a
taxi to take her back to the hotel. Keegan stood outside and watched the
traffic flowing up and down the street. She had a sick feeling in her
stomach. She finally understood why Gwen would choose to stay at school
instead of going home. She flagged the yellow taxi down. She sat in the
back and told the driver where she wanted to go. She glanced back at the
restaurant and hope that she did not cause Gwen more difficulty. The taxi
was not that expensive and it was worth every penny to Keegan to get away
from Jeff Lerner.

Rose and Curtis were walking into the lobby just as the taxi pulled
up. Curtis cleared his throat to question where she had been and why she
was getting out of a taxi.

"Don't give me a hassle..." Keegan began to explain. "I went to
dinner with Gwen and her Dad." Curtis shifted his weight from one leg to
the other. Keegan could read in his body language that he had met Jeff
Lerner. "Too make a long story short, I did not appreciate how Mr. Lerner
choices to treat his daughter, so I left. I have not eaten and I just
spent the last of my cash on the taxi." Keegan waited a moment for Curtis
to suspend or question her story.

"Rose is ordering pizza, why don't you eat go in with her. We are
playing Valpo. They beat Oakwood. " Curtis walked towards the lobby and
up the steps. Rose looked at Keegan who seemed to be at a lost for words.

"What do you want on your pizza?" Rose asked as they walked
towards Rose's room. "Do you think Gwen is okay?"

"I hope so. I really hope she is not mad at me for saying what I
said to her dad." Keegan silently thought about how bad she felt for Gwen.
She fell into step next to Rose.

"You had a good game tonight. You were the talk of the home crowd.
Even the coach from South Bend spoke to Curtis after the game about you."
Rose smiled. "It feels good to win the first one. Feels even better to
have a shut out. Between you and Gwen, my ego had been a bit bruised."

Rose opened the door to her and Gwen's room. Keegan immediately
blushed as the goalkeeper eyed the messed bed that was her hotel mates.
She looked at Keegan and shook her head. Rose sat on her bed and pulled
out the phone book.

	"Veggy okay?"

"Yeah, but no mushrooms." Keegan asked to remove the fungus off
her pizza. Keegan settle on Gwen's bed. She could still smell the slight
scent of sex on the comforter. She smiled. Rose caught her grin.

"I don't want to know. " Rose said as she called the pizza shop.
"What do you think of your first game?"

"I thought I was gonna puke when we started." Rose laughed.
"Seriously, I looked at Gwen and she was shaking and I am ready to run to
the sidelines and puke. I was nervous. Once things got going it was cool.
I don't care for Michelle Powell."

"There was some rumblings after the game that she said some pretty
nasty things to you during and after the game." Rose said as she flipped
on ESPN.

"I am use the name's....maybe not Vanilla." Keegan commented at
the reference to the backup goalkeeper. Rose shook her head. "but she was
hateful...hateful."

"I heard that she didn't know who you were at first. As soon as
you chased her down and kicked that ball away, she figured it out." Rose
said as she flipped off her shoes.

"How do you know all this?" Keegan asked. Not many other teams
would talk to opponents. Rose's face flushed and she smiled.

"My ex is the goal keeper for South Bend. I stayed to talk to her
after the game." Rose confessed. "She actually wants to try to get
together tomorrow night. "

"You know the rules. The purpose of the trip is to win games."
Keegan mimicked Curtis.

"Don't give me that line of shit. Look at that bed. It wasn't
like that before the game. Besides, its been awhile since I've had a little
something something." Rose smiled.

The pizza was delivered and them sat around watching Sports Center
and eating. Gwen opened the door a little before eleven. She looked worn
and tired. Strands of hair were losing and falling around her face. She
saw the pizza box and sighed.

"I should have just stayed here." She said to Rose as she walked
farther into the room. Her shoulders slumped and she kicked off her shoes.
"Hey.." She said as she saw Keegan leaning on the headboard of her bed.
She immediately crawled on the bed and placed a kiss on Keegan's lips. She
covered Keegan's body with hers. "Thank you for sticking up for me." Gwen
said as she held fast. "I don't think my Dad knew what hit him."

"Did you hit her Dad?" Rose asked.

"No...I just said some things that I think he should have heard."
Keegan rolled to her side and wrapped an arm around Gwen's waist. Gwen
leaned closer and pressed her lips to Keegan's throat and began to nibble
on her. Keegan groaned as she felt Gwen's leg rub against her pussy.

"You are going to get me going." Keegan whispered in her ear.

"That's the point." Gwen said with a slight giggle in her voice.
Keegan quickly shot a look at Rose. She pulled away from Gwen.

"I would love to continue down this path, curfew is a couple
minutes. " Keegan scrambled to her feet. She saw the change in Gwen's
mood. She reached down and offered her a hand up. "I have to go, but walk
me to the door." Gwen placed her hand in Keegan's. Keegan looked at her
long delicate fingers. Her smooth skin and small gold ring she wore on her
middle finger. Keegan gave her hand a slight squeeze.

"Two nights." Keegan said as she pressed her forehead to Gwen's
shoulder. "Two nights..." She repeated. They would be in Pontiac for
another night and have to sleep apart.

"I know. " Gwen ran her hands down Keegan's back. "I'll see you in
the morning. " Keegan lifted her head to receive the kiss that Gwen was
giving her. The kiss was soft and gentle at first. Slowly, the passionate
began to build. Keegan put her hands on Gwen's chest and pushed her away
again.

"I'm going to have to take a really cold shower." Gwen touched the
back of her hand to Keegan's cheek. She smiled devilishly. "What?"

"Think about me in the shower." Gwen smile lit up as her eyes
danced over Keegan's face. Keegan blushed.

"I think about you all the time." Gwen kissed her quickly and
dropped her hands.

"Get out of here before I get started again." She opened the door
for Keegan. "I'll see you in the morning." Keegan agreed and stepped out
into the hallway. She had big grin on her face and was looking forward to
her shower.

On Sunday, Weston played Valpo in an afternoon game, Bill, Sarah
and Megan made the trip down to see the game. Curtis used the same starting
line up. Keegan had a few minutes with her parents before to speak with
them. Sarah told her that college life seemed to be finally agreeing with
her. Keegan smiled and agreed. She introduced Gwen to Bill. Sarah gave
Gwen a hug as she was re-introduced.

"I heard you scored your first goal on Friday." Bill said as he
rubbed his daughter's hair. Keegan pulled away and hit her Dad in the
shoulder. "Gwen is your family here?" Bill asked.

"No, Mr. Garry, they are not into sports."

"Too bad...I hear you are a great player. Call me Bill." Gwen
blushed at the compliment. Keegan laughed at her discomfort.

"I'll see you after." Keegan said as she tapped Gwen's arm to join
the team. She started to run towards the field when Megan called out after
her. Her little sister ran towards her full speed.

"Keegan." Megan said as she tried to catch her breath. "Try to
score a goal."

"You bet." Keegan gave her sister a hug. Gwen looked on and felt
a pang of jealousy towards the sisters. "Come on you heard the order."
Keegan said as she passed by Gwen.

The game was mainly about defense. Keegan had her fill of defense
and offense. There were a few close calls which Rose pulled a save out of
no where.

Late in the second half when Keegan redirected a free kick into the
back of the net. She was swarmed by teammates that knew that one goal was
all they needed to take home the tournament championship. Valpo tried
extremely hard to score on Weston after the goal was scored. Keegan
watched as a high kick almost took off Rabbit's head. AJ was getting her
share of abuse on the defensive side of the ball.
There was a miss kick and Keegan cleared it to the centerline.
Gwen flashed towards the ball. With her speed and the concentration of
Valpo's offense, she was able to get past the defender. Gwen was tied up
with the second defender that tried to keep her out of the box. She let a
shot fly. The defender got a foot on it. The ball bounced the opposite way
of the goalie's position. Keegan ran towards the goal but she watched, as
Gwen was able to get a strong foot on the ball and send it to the back of
the net. Gwen raised her arms above her head in celebration. Keegan ran
up and hugged Gwen around the waist and lifted her in celebration. Gwen
laughed and hit her to put her back on her feet. The team hoarded around
Gwen in congratulations. The whistle blew a short time later. As the
walked off the field, the upper classman were all smiles, even AJ. Keegan
wiped the sweat off her brow and stood in line behind Gwen.

"Where the hell did you get those freshman?" The Valpo coach asked
Curtis as they went through the line. Gwen turned to look at Keegan. She
was beaming with excitement.

"Feels good to score." Keegan remarked.

"Score.." Gwen looked mischievously at her. " A goal, it feels
great!" Keegan smacked her arm and gave her a hug.

"You did great." Keegan held on a little longer but only a few
people noticed.

At the championship award presentation right after the game, Keegan
was awarded the MVP of the tournament. Michelle Powell was given special
recognition. Keegan thanked her team and her coach. She gave props to
Rose who kept the opponents shut out. Her family greeted her in their own
fashion, her mother with a hug and Megan a high five.

"That was awesome." Megan said. "Where's Gwen she had a great
run."

"Yes she did." Keegan said as she pointed to Gwen. Megan's face
flushed and she shook her head. Keegan was taken back that her youngest
sister had such a reaction to Gwen. The realization hit her that maybe
Megan thought Gwen was cute. "It's okay. You can let her know some other
time."

Keegan leaned on the side of the van. Gwen was curled up next to
her. Her head rested comfortably on Keegan's chest. Under the Weston
sweatshirt that Keegan had covering her lap, her fingers were laced with
Gwen's. Dailey sat next to Gwen as they headed back to campus. It had
been a great weekend and start for the team. Curtis moustache curled over
his lip as a smile radiated off his face.
