Subject: Kathy and Jess Installment 9

Jess followed her heart once again and so far he was the one that was
making all the right decisions.

They took a shower and got dressed, Kathy had to borrow some clothes from
Jess since she wouldn't let her leave. The house was quiet like usual, you
could smell the scent of breakfast, probably bacon and eggs, Wanda was an
early riser and she always had something different to offer.

"Good morning nana" Jess said and kissed Wanda on the cheek.

"Good morning baby, how did you sleep?" Wanda still hadn't seen Kathy.

She turned around with a bowl full of scrambled eggs and placed it on the
table.

"No wonder you look so happy this morning." Wanda saw Kathy and smiled. The
remark addressed to Jess of course.

"Good morning." Kathy said returning the smile.

Emily came downstairs still on pajamas and yawning.

"What are you doing up so early?" Jess asked and sat next to Kathy.

"Because some neighbor that I have was being a little loud." Emily winked
at Kathy who was redder than a ripe tomato.

"Don't listen to her baby, she's louder than us." Jess kissed Kathy on the
cheek and laughed out loud.

Wanda finished setting the table and sat down to eat with the girls, she
felt happy to finally see her little girl happy with a woman that loved her
dearly.

"Did mom and dad leave already?" Jess looked at Wanda, she usually knew
everything that happened around the house.

"No, your dad is meeting with his lawyers, and your mom went
shopping. They're leaving tonight after supper."

Kathy helped Wanda do the dishes while Emily and Jess went upstairs.

"Wanda I wanted to ask you something." Kathy was a little nervous.

"Yes dear?"

"Do you think that if I ask Jess to marry me she would accept?"

Wanda froze in place, she didn't say anything, she hugged Kathy and kissed
her in the forehead.

"I think that would make all of us extremely happy." Wanda's eyes got
watery.

"Ok, tell her I went to town to get something that you needed for tonight's
dinner." Kathy got on her way, her truck was parked in the driveway.

There was only one jewelry store in town, Kathy parked her truck and got
off, she was so excited. The attendant greeted her cordially .

Kathy ordered the ring and wrote in a piece of paper what she wanted to
engrave on it.

"More or less how long would it take?" She asked.

"Give me about half an hour." The guy got to work even before Kathy had
exited the place.

Kathy walked around for a few minutes, she went inside a movie store and
purchased some new releases. She still had a good twenty minutes so she
walked down to a Hallmark at the end of the shopping center and bought a
little green elephant that sang and danced a very famous song.

By the time she walked back to the jewelry store the ring was ready and
carefully placed inside a black velvety box. It was beautiful and
sophisticated just what Jess deserved.

Back in the house Jess and Emily where wondering where she had gone, Wanda
said that she needed some extra ingredients for the food, something that
never happened, she was anal about her stuff always insisting on going
personally to do the groceries.

Jess told Emily everything that had happened in the morning and how happy
she was to have finally cleared out the air between them.

"Maybe we should go to town and spend some time in that gay bar, if you're
lucky enough you'll find yourself a nice girl to talk to." Jess
volunteered.

"Yeah, maybe. I would love to meet someone new." Emily had been alone for
too long already, her latest dates had been meaningless sex and drinking
buddies, nothing serious.

Josh knocked on the door to Emily's room, her figured they would be in
there gossiping like usual.

"Hey daddy." Jess hugged him and gave him a big smile.

"Hey girls. I heard about the news, you and Kathy I mean." He said winking
at Emily.

"That was fast. I guess its just like old times."

"I'm glad you guys made up."

"Did mom come back already?"

"Yes, she's helping Wanda in the kitchen. Its going to be an early dinner
because we have to be in the airport at seven, so I think you girls should
start getting ready." Josh left the room and went to take a shower, he
couldn't wait to be alone with his beloved wife, just them and the sea
miles and miles away from stress and work. He knew he would miss the ranch,
but he had already invested too many years of his life building it up and
making it a gold mine now it was the girl's turn to continue on his legacy.

Kathy practically ran to her room to hide the ring and the green
elephant. She didn't want to bump into Jess with her precious cargo still
in tow.

The door opened and Jess came in the room lighting everything around her.

"Baby where did you go?" Jess asked throwing herself in Kathy's arms.

"Hey baby, Wanda needed some things."

"I'm glad you're back." Jess kissed her on the lips and grabbed her butt
with both hands.

"I'm still recovering from this morning, somebody took all my energy away."
Kathy lied playfully.

"Ah come on, don't be a chicken." Jess took her girlfriend's shirt off and
began to kiss her chest.

"I'm going to have to buy some protein shakes to keep up with your energy
woman." Kathy joked again and went with the flow.

Jess smiled and continued her turning on process, not that Kathy needed it
very much, she was turned on just by seeing Jess walk past her.

Dinner was served and everyone was called down to the table, Jess and Kathy
had to run because they were late.

Wanda had made a chicken and rice casserole topped with cheese, potato
salad and a freshly made apple pie.

While Wanda received compliments from everyone on the table Kathy excused
herself and went upstairs to her room to look for the ring and the green
elephant.

Emily and Jess removed all the dishes from the table and took the apple pie
out of the oven, there was some vanilla ice cream in the fridge so they put
a scoop on top of each slice and served everyone.

Kathy came back just in time and gave Jess the stuffed animal.

"Oh baby, that is so cute." Jess squeezed the elephant's right paw and it
began to rock sideways and to sing - you are my sunshine , my only
sunshine, you make me happy . . .-. Everyone on the table started laughing
at Jess who got up and hugged Kathy.

"You like it?" Kathy asked getting really nervous, she was about to ask
Jess the big question.

"I love it baby, I love you." Jess was about to sit down when she saw Kathy
reach into her pocket and retrieve a black little box. Jess's jaw dropped
and her legs got weak.

Kathy went down on one knee and opened the velvety box.

"Jess would you be my wife?" Everyone on the table looked at Jess eager for
her answer.

Jess smiled and two tears ran down her cheeks.

"Yes Kathy. I would love to be your wife." Kathy took the ring out of the
box and placed it on Jess's finger. It fit her perfectly and the color of
the white gold matched her skin.
