Monday morning they went to the gym and work out a while and then
did some sparring before Sheena came in to do her workout. Gena figured
that the workout and sparring would burn off some energy and help Lara to
relax which it did until they got home. Then Lara became a bundle of nerves
so Gena sent her into the kitchen to fix lunch, something that she could
keep warm as Ms. Harper wasn't supposed to be there until one. Lara didn't
see the need to feed the woman that was coming after her but she did as was
requested of her. While Lara did that, Gena ran into work as there was a
problem that she needed to help out with. She had to keep reassuring Lara
that she would be back long before Ms. Harper arrived before Lara would let
her go. It took Gena longer than she had hoped but the got there about ten
minutes till one and that earned her a frown from Lara.
They were sitting in the kitchen when they heard a car pull up and
Gena saw the fear come to Lara's eyes. As much as she hated to she said, "I
think you should meet her at the door, I think that would be a nice touch."
"Why me? Why can't you go meet her?" Lara asked.
"Because she has come a long way to meet you honey, you need to be
the one to greet her." Gena told her.
"Will you come with me?" Lara said as her lower lip trembled.
"Yes baby, I'll be right behind of you, I'm been by your side so far
haven't I?" Gena said and asked.
"Yes you have," Lara said and she exhaled loudly before getting up.
Gena got up with her and she saw Lara put some iron into her
backbone and she walked purposely out of the kitchen and into the living
room. She went straight to the door opening it. Gena liked what she was
seeing from Lara, after worrying for three days, she seemed to have to have
decided to show a strong front even if her insides were turning into jelly.
Ms. Jimmie Harper was at the front steps when Gena saw her looking
over Lara's shoulder as she had her hand on Lara's back to let her know
that she was there for her. Ms. Harper was a petite and slim woman wearing
a nice business suit with dark blue slacks and a jacket with a lighter blue
blouse. Her hair, Gena could tell had once been dark brown but now was
streaked with gray that she had obviously decided not to hide by coloring
it. She had a confident expression on her face, as someone who knew who she
was and what she wanted from life and was determined to go for it. She gave
them both a big smile but Gena could see that this was a woman that one
didn't screw with. She liked this woman already and she hadn't even met
her and while she knew that Lara hated her at that moment, she could see
that Ms. Harper would win her over. Gena looked past Ms. Harper to see a
man and woman standing by the car that she had come in. These were
obviously her body guards and they looked like they were all business.
"Hi there, I'm Jimmie Harper, I'm happy to meet you both." She said
and Gena thought that she heard a bit of a New York accent in her voice.
"Hi Ms. Harper, I'm Lara Croft and this is Gena Tucker, she's a
sergeant at the police department." Lara said taking Jimmie's hand and
shaking it but she let go of the hand as soon as she possibility could.
"Oh please call me Jimmie, none of that Ms. Harper," She said giving
them a warm smile that seemed to be genuine to Gena.
When Lara didn't say anything but just stood there in the doorway,
Gena said, "Well call us Gena and Lara and please do come in." Gena then
had to tug on the back of Lara's blouse to get her to move away from the
door and let Jimmie into their home.
Gena was hoping that Lara would take over but she didn't say a word
so Gena brought Jimmie into the living room had her sit on the couch and
she sat on the chair to Jimmie's right side. Lara, she was hoping would sit
on the couch with Jimmie but instead she chose to sit on the arm of the
chair that Gena was sitting.
"Would you like something to drink, maybe a cup of coffee, Lara has
just put on a fresh pot?" Gena asked her.
"I would love a cup of coffee, I haven't had a cup since I left
Washington this morning and I am dying for one." Jimmie said with a smile.
"I'll get it." Lara said quickly as she jumped from the arm of the
chair heading for the kitchen.
"She's awfully quiet and a bit flighty isn't she." Jimmie said with
more than a bit of concern in her voice.
"She's afraid that you've come here to put her in jail." Gena told
her in barely a whisper so that Lara wouldn't hear her.
"Who gave her such a silly idea?" Jimmie asked.
Gena smiled, "I'm afraid that she gave it to herself and nothing
I've said can convince her that's not why you're here. And since you didn't
tell her what you wanted with her when you called; she has let her
imagination run. I don't think she is completely convinced that the DEA
will keep their promise not to press charges though they had done
everything they said they would and more."
"Well they'll keep their promises and I'm not here to arrest her, I
just needed to see who she was and if she can help me and help her
government out." Jimmie said.
"Well if you don't mind me telling you what to do but I think you
need to tell her that." Gena told her.
"I will though I don't think she is old enough or mature enough to
be of any help. I may have come here needlessly." Jimmie said bluntly.
"Oh I think she'll surprise you there." Gena said confidently and
she could see that Jimmie didn't believe her.
"Mmmm..." Jimmie said and Gena just smiled. She knew Lara better
than anyone and she knew what Lara was capable of, though it would help if
she knew just what Jimmie wanted from Lara.
Gena was about to go after Lara when Lara came back in carrying a
tray with coffee in a thermos, cups, and sugar and cream. She set it on the
coffee table and started to go sit by Gena when Jimmie said, "Lara, would
you come over and sit on the couch with me, I want to talk to you a
minute."
Lara looked at Gena with a questioning expression and Gena smiled at
her so she did go sit on the couch though she sat on the far edge, as far
from Jimmie as she could.
Gena watched at Jimmie turned to face Lara, leaving the coffee where
it was, "First off let me apologize for me not telling you when I talked to
you on Friday just why I wanted to see you. It was a busy day and I was
arraigning where I was going to be this week and it was a last minute thing
to work into my schedule to see you today. I have to be in Dallas this
evening so I decided that today would be a good time to drop in and see
you. But my visit here was just to see if you could help me with tracking
down drug money that is used to support terrorism. I didn't come here to
arrest you or cause you any problems. I have read some of your file and I
think you did a very brave thing in turning in your father and
brothers. You did your country a great service and we do appreciate it."
Jimmie told her.
Lara looked over at Gena who nodded her head and then she looked at
Jimmie taking the measure of her and her words. It took a moment but she
did let out a little smile. "Thank you for letting me know that, I know
Gena has been telling me that all weekend but I was worried all the same."
"Well I'm sorry that you were worried, that was my fault." Jimmie
told Lara giving her a smile but then she frowned a bit. "However I am
afraid that I may have wasted both of our time, I'm not sure that you will
be able to help us."
"Why not?" Lara asked and Gena could see Lara getting her back up a
bit.
Jimmie didn't say anything for a moment as she poured herself a cup
of coffee and put a little cream into the cup but no sugar. She sat back,
taking a sip of the coffee and then she said, "Just how old are you?" she
asked.
"I'm twenty-one," Lara said firmly.
"I know that is the age that you put on your license however I'm not
sure that you've quiet reached that age have you?" Jimmie asked giving Lara
a questioning look.
"Yea I have reached that age. The government says I am so that is
what I am." Lara said defensively.
Jimmie took another sip of her coffee seeming to take the measure of
Lara and seeing she wasn't going to get anywhere in this line of
questioning so she took another tack, "What I am trying to say is that I
need someone that has a lot of experience doing what you did, hiding money
and I realize that you did a great job, I don't think you have the
experience to see into what other people are doing. Do you understand what
I am saying?"
"Yea I know what you're saying," Lara said as she stood up and faced
Jimmie. Gena got just a little worried that Lara was going to do something
that she would regret later but then she seemed to control her body but not
her mouth.
"You're saying that I'm not old enough or smart enough to know what
I was doing and I just got lucky in not getting caught. Well let me tell
you something, it wasn't luck, it was because I was trained by the best in
the business and he taught me everything he knew. He also taught me to keep
up with all the tax and accounting regulations. And I did that and improved
on what he was doing. And you know why I did that?" Lara asked but she gave
Jimmie no time to answer her rhetorical question. "I'll tell you why,
because my life depended on me knowing what I was doing. If I had screwed
up and some tax man came sniffing around, my father would have taken me
into the mountains and killed me and bury me with my mother where no one
would have ever found us. And I did my job well, I fooled all the DEA
agents and their computer people, they didn't have a clue as to what I had
done until I showed them. I was even able to skim money from my father and
he never knew it and he knew exactly down to every dime that came in, just
how much should be there. Well I fooled that son of a bitch too. So you may
not think that I don't know jack shit but your wrong missy!" Lara spat out.
"Lara! That's no way to speak to Ms. Harper!" Gena said as she
started to get up.
"No that's fine, I deserved that. In fact I wanted to see if she had
any fire in her belly." Jimmie told Gena and then she smiled at Lara.
"I know you don't know your age and I doubt that you're twenty-one
however I don't care about that. I have seen all your files and I will
admit that creating that multinational finance company to help move the
money around was a stroke of genius but the people I want you to work with
have large egos and may be tough to deal with, I needed someone who can
stand their ground with them. I think you just might do Lara." Jimmie said
to Lara who was still trying to maintain her anger but she was confused by
Jimmie's comments.
After a moment, her pride got the better of her and she had to say,
"You caught that about the finance company, none of the DEA agents saw that
and I'm not sure that they understood what I was doing even after I told
them." Lara said.
"I caught that and I knew immediately what you were doing. You could
move all the money you wanted to without raising any suspicions. Though I
don't see how you ever thought of doing it." Jimmie told her.
"I had lots of time to study and it just came to me one day." Lara
said finally letting out a smile. "I can tell you all about it if you
like."
"I would like that," Jimmie replied.
"How about we talk about that over lunch, have you had anything to
eat?" Gena asked.
"No and I would love to have lunch with you both." Jimmie told her.
"What about your friends out there by your car, would they like
something to eat?" Lara said and then before she or Jimmie could reply,
Lara said "I'll go ask them." and then she was off heading for the front
door.
"Lara, they're on duty," Gena said getting up but Jimmie put her
hand on her arm stopping her.
By the time she and Jimmie got to the open front door, Lara was
already down by the car talking to the man and woman, Jimmie just waved
them in and they came. Jimmie introduced them and they all went into the
kitchen. Lara dished them both out a plate and they went to the living room
to eat as she, Jimmie, and Lara sat at the table. From that point on, Gena
just listened as Lara and Jimmie talked about laundering drug money and she
had to admit that she learned a few things and other things she had to
admit went over her head. She knew that Lara knew a lot about hiding money
and all of that but she learned just how much Lara knew about the current
tax laws and also new accounting trends. And this was a girl who never went
to school but taught herself. Of course with the threat of death hanging
over her head, she was motivated to learn but she went out on her own to
learn more than was necessary. The only way her father was going to get
caught laundering drug money was for Lara to spill her guts which was what
she did.
"Oh my, I've got to go or I'm going to be late for my flight."
Jimmie said as she glanced at her watch several hours after she had gotten
there.
"So did I get the job?" Lara asked her as she got up from the table.
Jimmie smiled at her and she put her hand on Lara's forearm, "Honey,
you got the job as soon as you let me know that I didn't know shit about
you and your abilities." She said and then laughed as Lara blushed.
"But I really must go, my assistant Hayley will be getting in touch
with you later on in the week and she will get things arraigned." Jimmie
said as she started for the door leading to the living room where her two
body guards were standing waiting for her.
Lara then leaned over and whispered into Gena's ear and Gena replied
with, "Well ask her."
"What do you want to know honey?" Jimmie said as she stood in the
doorway and being patient with Lara by waiting for her to spit out her
question.
"Will I get paid for what you want me to do?" She asked however she
quickly added, "I'll do it for free but we could use the money. With me
getting that car that I have to pay for and the insurance then things are
tight moneywise."
Jimmie gave her a broad smile as she came back to where Lara was
nervously standing, "Lara, let me give you a piece of advice, when you are
negotiating for a wage, don't tell your future employer that you'll work
for free, they might just take you up on that offer." Then she laughed but
with Lara and not at her.
Lara laughed a bit too but only because Jimmie had laughed, "I'll
try to remember that but..." Lara was saying when Gena put her hand over
her mouth.
"How about we let Ms Harper decide how valuable your work is to her
objectives. Lara will be thankful for anything that you deem that she is
worthy of receiving." Gena said as she took her hand from Lara's mouth.
"Yea, what she says." Lara said with a smile.
"I'll tell you what, I promise that you will be paid but I don't
know how much at this time. I am doing this out of my office budget and as
you know all of our budgets are being cut. But I believe that you've
something to teach us and also can help us, but you're not going to get
rich working for me." Jimmie told her.
"I think Lara can live with that. Just so she knows that she is
being rewarded for her work, which is something that has never happened for
her." Gena said.
"She will be but now I just run or I'll be late and I hate being
late for anything." Jimmie said then she did something that surprised both
Gena and Lara as she held out her arms and gave Lara a quick hug. They then
escorted Jimmie out to her car and saw her off.
"You know Jimmie is a real nice lady, I like her." Lara said as they
were walking back up the driveway.
"I'm a little confused here, isn't she the same woman you called a
bitch all weekend?" Gena asked.
"No, I didn't call her a bitch all weekend, just Friday; you
wouldn't let me call her that on Saturday and Sunday." Lara said with a
straight face then a moment later she burst out laughing.
"Well I guess I stand corrected." Gena said laughing with Lara.
"So what you want to do now?" Gena asked as they entered the house.
"Sleep, I don't know why but suddenly I feel exhausted." Lara said
as she shut the front door behind them.
"I don't doubt it, you've been stress out for three days, your body
is demanding that it be given a break." Gena told her giving her a kiss on
the forehead.
"How about I clean up the kitchen and you go run us a bath. I think
sitting in a tub of hot water would do us both some good." Gena told her.
"Okay," Lara said as she pulled away from Gena and headed toward the
back of the house. Gena was a tab bit surprised that Lara was letting her
clean the kitchen alone but then again that showed just how stressed she
had been and how tired she was now. Gena went on in and started on putting
the dishes in the dishwasher and getting it started. When she had that
done and had the table wiped clean, something struck her as strange, she
hadn't heard the water run in the tub. So she began to worry and she went
back toward the bathroom. She looked in there first and not seeing Lara or
any bath water running, she went on to the bedroom where she found Lara
laying face down on the bed sound asleep. She smiled as she went to her
gently pulling off her shoes and then all so slowly turning her onto her
back. Lara barely stirred so Gena went to her jeans getting them off of
her. She sat her up so that she could take her blouse and bra off. She then
went to find a gown to up on her. She found one and started back toward the
bed only to find that Lara must have awoken enough to slip under the covers
and she was off into the world of dreams. Gena put the gown back up and
went over to give Lara a kiss then she left her to the sleep that she so
needed.
Gena went to the living room and watched the news and then a few TV
shows, always going in to check on Lara every so often to make sure she was
okay. When she did finally go to bed herself, Lara hardly stirred except to
turn and cuddle up against her. When she made it to the kitchen on Tuesday
morning, Lara was as happy as she had seen in a while.
"Guess who called today?" Lara asked as soon as Gena got into the
car Tuesday afternoon.
"Mmmm..., Ms Harper's assistant." Gena replied.
"How'd you know?" Lara asked a bit disappointed that Gena had
guessed correctly.
"Because Ms. Harper didn't get to her position by putting things
off; I would bet that she called her assistant as soon as she left here
yesterday." Gena told her.
"Haley said that she called her from the airport." Lara said
smiling.
Gena had to smile as she said, "So what did this Haley have to say?"
"Oh yes, she said that there would be someone here Thursday to drop
off a computer and also install a small dish so that I can get a secure
satellite connection." Lara said proudly. Then she paused for a second,
"It was okay that I told her that they can put a satellite dish on the
house, it would be small she said."
"That's fine, you can do whatever you want to help you with your
work, the house is as much yours as it is mine now, hell you have done more
work to it than I have." Gena said putting her hand on Lara's arm and
giving it a squeeze.
"Thanks, I'm getting excited about all of this; I'm finally doing
something good." Lara told her.
"Yes you are, but you've already done a lot of good with putting
your family out of the drug business. What you did brought down one of the
biggest drug distribution networks in the country and they are still going
after people involved with it. You've already made up for anything bad you
were forced to do." Gena told her.
"Thanks, that makes me feel good to know." Lara told her.
"So did she tell you exactly what you'd be doing?" Gena asked as
they neared their house.
"Yea, at first I will be going over some of their older records to
see if I can find something that they missed. Then they will decide where I
would go from there." Lara stated.
Gena hesitated for a moment not sure if she should say what was on
her mind then she decided that she should, "You know they may be testing
you."
"Oh I thought of that already but I'm not scared, I know what to
look for and how to hide things. I'm sure that I can figure out how other
people choose to do it. I figure they will start me out with something easy
and then get harder," Lara told her.
"They also may throw you a ringer in there, something that looks
illegal but isn't." Gena told her.
"Mmm.. I didn't think of that, you think they would do that?" Lara
asked her.
"I would, just to see if I could trip you up, if I found that I
couldn't then I would let you loose." Gena told her.
"Yea but you're a sneaky bitch," Lara said with a giggle.
"And proud of it!" Gena replied with a big grin.
"That figures I try to insult you and you take it as a compliment,"
Lara said laughing.
"So does this Haley sound nice," Gena asked.
"Yea, real nice, she answered all my questions and was never
impatient with me." Lara told her as she pulled into the driveway.
"So what's for supper?" Gena asked as she unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Something juicy..." Lara said with a wink.
"Mmmm..., I like the sound of that." Gena said grinning from ear to
ear.
"I thought you would..." Lara said with a giggle as she blushed.
Gena did get something juicy for supper however it was a juicy
hamburger, the other juicy part did come later that evening when they
retired to the bedroom to do something other than sleeping. And Gena found
Lara's pussy as juicy as ever and she ate it with as much gusto as she did
the hamburger she was served for supper, actually she ate Lara's pussy with
even more gusto much to Lara's delight.
On Thursday, Gena got constant texts updating her on the new
computer that was brought to her and about the government worker who didn't
seem to have much to say as he worked. And the dish that he put up was out
of sight from the front of the house. Gena tried to get Lara to ask him to
hook them up with some of the pay TV channels however Lara just told her to
shut up and stop telling her to do that. Gena had to laugh as Lara was all
business when it came to her new job.
Their routine began to change as Lara worked on her first assignment
after supper while Gena cleaned up the kitchen. Once she was done, she went
to what used to be the spare bedroom which is where Lara had set up her new
office. She stood in the doorway as Lara focused on what was on the
computer screen and she had this determined look on her face yet it was a
happy expression too. Lara was back in her element but this time, she was
doing something good. Even though this was just training, it was still very
important and Lara was determined to do well. After a couple of hours, Gena
pulled Lara away from the computer and into the bedroom where they made
love until they were too exhausted to do anything other than sleep.
The first of the following month, Lara got her first check in the
mail. She had to come in to the station to show Gena and Gena could see
just how excited she was. Lara had already decided that she was going to
take Gena out to eat that weekend and then buy something for the house
however Gena suggested that Lara spend it on herself, getting some new
clothes and maybe some things for her new office. That evening they argued
for half the evening before a compromise was reached. They would first buy
the things that Lara wanted and needed for her new little office and they
would go out to dinner, the rest would go into Lara's new savings account.
Things did ease up for them both as Lara began to earn a little
money, Ms. Harper was right, Lara would never get rich from the wages she
was being paid. However it did help them both out as Lara could pay for
her own insurance and gas, and also pay George a bit of money and still
have some left over to go out to eat and do the other things that they
liked to do. Their lovemaking expanded too as they continued to learn what
each other liked and enjoyed. For the most part Gena had been the one to
introduce new things into their lovemaking however as with everything that
Lara had learned in her life, she began to go out on the web to learn new
things. Her new job of going through suspicious people's financial records
kept her busy but as she learned, she found that she had more free time to
play around on the net and that she did.
A couple of months later, Gena was having one of her worst days at
work in as long as she could remember. It started that morning with her out
on patrol and she saw an old truck weaving down an old mountain road. She
pulled the truck over and did the standard tests including the breath
analysis that the old man pegged out. Once she got him into the back of her
car, he promptly threw up all over the back seat. So by the time the tow
truck got there to get the old man's truck, her car stunk to high heavens.
She gagged all the way to the station and then had to spend a couple of
hours booking him and another couple cleaning out her car, trying to get
the smell out of it. Then that afternoon, she was in court and it seemed
that everyone she had written tickets to that month was challenging her on
everything that she did. And the judge pissed her off by siding with some
of them even though she was in the right. So to say that she was pissed by
the time she got off work, two hours late, was an understatement. All she
wanted to do was to go home and forget that the day had ever happened. The
only the good thing was that it was a Friday and thus she had two days to
get over the bad day. She had driven herself that day as she knew that she
would probably be late getting home, so when she pulled up in the driveway,
she let out an extended sigh, grateful that the day was over with.
She got out of her car and slowly walked up to the carport where
Lara now parked her car. She opened the kitchen door expecting to smell
whatever Lara was fixing for supper however she smelled nothing and to her
surprise, Lara wasn't in the kitchen nor did she hear her coming to meet
her. Gena looked around not seeing any sign that Lara had been in the
kitchen recently. She was sure that Lara didn't have any work to do that
day, she had gotten done everything assigned to her but that didn't mean
that she wasn't on her computer trying to learn anything new that had come
along in the rules of accounting. Gena went on through the kitchen and into
the living room. There she saw Lara or at least Lara's back. She noticed
that Lara had on a pair of very short white shorts that barely covered her
asscheeks. She had on the red sheer blouse that looked a bit tartly and not
something that she had ever seen Lara wearing nor would she would have
thought that Lara would dare wear. She started to say something when she
saw Lara seem to put something into her mouth and swallow it with a sip of
water. Lara's body seemed to shiver for a second and then she saw Lara's
shoulders relax a little.
Lara then turned around slowly facing her with this dreamily look on
her face. The top three buttons of Lara's blouse was undone and Lara was
wearing a pushup bra, again something that Gena didn't know she owned.
Gena's jaw dropped upon seeing Lara dressed like this and then she noticed
that there was something sticking out of the side of Lara's bra. Gena saw
that is was a small plastic baggie that appeared to have several small
pills in it. Lara eyes went wide as she realized that Gena was staring at
her bra. She looked down and seeing the little plastic baggie sticking out,
she quickly stuffed it back into her bra. "Ohhh..." Lara said in surprise
that just didn't sound right.
"What's in that bag?" Gena demanded of Lara. She was already pissed
from her bad day and seeing Lara take pills just topped it off. It wasn't
something that she had ever expected of Lara but that didn't mean that Lara
wasn't capable of proving her wrong.
"What bag?" Lara asked as if there was no bag.
"The one you stuffed in your bra! Now hand it over!" Gena demanded
feeling her blood pressure rise to the bursting point.
There seemed to be a moment on indecision in Lara's eyes then she
bolted for the back of the house. Gena didn't have time to move before Lara
disappeared into the hallway but when she did move it was with
determination and fire in her eyes. Gena was now in the mood to tear
someone apart and that someone just became Lara.
