Soulmates - Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Janet was a 30-year-old just recently divorced woman. She was fairly
attractive with red hair, green eyes, 5'8", and 125lbs. While she never
considered herself a knockout, she also wasn't lacking in her share of men,

with moving into her new home and life and starting over. Serious

During their marriage, the two started a pretty successful computer
consulting company. Because they both worked equally hard in it and since
they ended on good terms, they decided to split things down the middle. As
a result, Janet was pretty well off. While she was not rich, she was not
hurting for money either.

She decided to start her life over in the south, Georgia to be specific.
She always loved the slower pace of living it offered, compared to the high
stress of the Washington DC area which she grew up and lived all her life.
She bought a modest townhouse and decided to take a year off to recharge
her batteries and take stock in her life.

She was just starting to unpack when she heard a knock at the door. As she
opened it, she saw an incredibly good-looking redheaded women standing

As Donise extended her hand in a friendly shake, Janet noticed her palms

Janet finally managed to regain some composure and said "Oh, thank you.

Can I offer you something? Ice tea and coffee are all I have at the
moment". "Ice tea would be wonderful, but please let me help you with it"
Donise offered. As Donise moved into the townhouse, Janet couldn't help
herself eyeing her. She was a little older than herself, but incredibly in
shape and very cute. Janet caught herself thinking "why am I looking at her
this way, am I turning lez or have I just been alone too long?"  She
finally shrugged it off as an admiration of another attractive woman and

"Well, if there is anything I can do to help you out at all, you never

"Well, I am a music composer/producer and have been living here most of my
life. I was born in Tennessee but moved here right out of college and fell
in love with the area. I was married for 25 years before my husband died 2
years ago." Janet moved in and took her hand in hers "I am so sorry to hear
that" she offered. "Thank you Darlin. As they say, time heals all wounds,
so I've been doing pretty well now with work and all keeping my mind busy".

Janet then took another look at Donise and said "25 years?? You must have
been married very young, you couldn't even be in your 40s yet!" Donise just
laughed and said "Darlin, I just turned 51 this year, but thank you, a lady
always loves a nice complement".  "I mean it too" Janet said, "you are very
cute and sexy, guys must be falling all over you". Donise just smiled and

eternity, but was actually only a minute, she regained composure and said
"Well, I better get back to unpacking, I don't want to keep you from your
work for too long". Donise smiled back and said, "That is the benefit of
being your own boss, I set my own hours. But you look like you could use
some help. Would you like me to stay and help you unpack?". Janet jumped at
the chance to spend as much time with Donise as possible and said "Thank
you, yes please".

The two women spent the next several hours unpacking and cleaning up the
townhouse. Finally the place looked less like a disaster area and more like
a home. Donise then offered up "Tell you what Darlin, why don't we get
cleaned up and I will take you out for something to eat, my treat as a
welcome to the neighborhood gift". Janet wasn't about to argue, plus she
was up for anything that allowed her to spend more time with Donise. "Yes,
that sounds wonderful" she said. "Ok, let me go get ready and I will be
back in about an hour to pick you up" Donise said. She gave Janet a nice
hug before leaving and she felt her knees go soft but caught herself before
she fell over.

After Donise left Janet started wondering about the feelings that seemed to
be stirring inside of her, but just shrugged it off as excitement at
meeting a new friend. She jumped in the shower and came out feeling
suddenly re-energized. She realized she forgot to ask Donise how she should
dress, so she opted for a nice red summer dress with 4" red sandals. For

They made small talk as Donise drove to the restaurant, but mostly Janet
