Part Two

TK sat there wondering where this was all going and how she was going to
fix it. She thought that Carmen had forgiven her for what she had done but
obviously not. This was going to take more work on her part to convince Carmen
that she was real and what they had was real. She wasn't going to abandon her now.
A few minutes later, Carmen came out of the bathroom and TK could see that she
had been crying. She started to say something but Carmen went on past her and
just said that the bathroom was free. TK got up and she went on in. She empty her
bladder and she wiped herself noticing that there was a little moisture left over
from the intense kissing session that they just had before everything seemed to
go haywire. TK brushed her teeth and ran a brush through her hair before she
went to the door and opened it to find the room dark. She turned off the light and

wanted to say something but she didn't know where to start. She thought about

to hear. The silence began to build to the point that TK thought that she was

"I'm sorry that I went off like that on you but I got scared." TK heard
Carmen say is a low soft quivering voice.
"Scared of what Carmen?" TK asked even though she was pretty sure she
knew what Carmen was scared of.
"I'm scared that you'll bail on me again." Carmen said.
TK heard Carmen's voice crack and she knew she had to put an end to this
kind of thinking right now. So she sat up and leaned across of Carmen and turned
on the bedside light.
"Sit up; I want to talk to you." TK said in a commanding voice. And she saw
that Carmen was crying and while she wanted to wipe those tears away she had to
do something else first. She helped Carmen to sit up and she turned her so that
Carmen was facing her.
"I want to tell you a few things and I want you to listen carefully as I'm just
going to say this once." TK told her a little more harshly than she had meant to but
she saw that she had Carmen's attention. "I won't pretend to know what it has
been like growing up as a genius. God knows that that I'm sorely lacking in the
brains department. But you have given me a clue into that world. I know that
everyone has avoided you and no one wanted to be your friend and I'm sure that
when you got here, you got more of the same. So you lived in this little room and
watched your movies and studied. Then I come along and you thought that I had
become your friend then I did to you what everyone else has done to you. I got
scared and ran away. But I didn't tell you the complete truth a while ago when I
said that I backed away from you because I thought that it was uncool. I did think
that but I'm beginning to realize that wasn't the real reason why I backed away. I
started to like you and that scared me. It was scarily how you could smile and
whatever you wanted me to do, I suddenly wanted to do. That scared the hell out
of me and I wanted to be as far as I could away from you. Then I was forced to
come back to you and you gave the cold shoulder and I deserved it. But I kept
coming back because you told me to. And as the days went by, I began to want you
to talk to me, to treat me as a friend as we once were before I fucked up. You
made me wait and wait and finally you waited for me after the game. I was on top
of the world because the weird girl was actually talking to me again. Well once I
got you talking I was determined not to fuck up again. I wanted you to be my
friend; I needed for you to be my friend. Then you started to give me those little
kisses just as I was falling asleep. I woke up every morning feeling great just
because you had kissed me the night before. And tonight, I got to kiss you back

going fucking anywhere!" TK said and she was out of breath from talking so fast

didn't you say anything?" Carmen asked.
"Because I figured that when you were ready, then you would do something
when I was a little more alert, like tonight." TK told her.
"I didn't do anything tonight; you were the one to kiss me." Carmen

"Sure you did, when I looked into your eyes after you put the movie on, I saw
a girl that wanted to be kissed so I did." TK said and she leaned forward but she
stopped before she got to Carmen's lips. She waited a second and she was hoping
that Carmen would come the rest of the way and after a moment's hesitation; she

she moved her hand behind of Carmen's neck and she held Carmen there as she

to do." Carmen admitted.
"Don't worry when we get to that, you'll know what to do." TK told her.
"Did you, I mean the first time?" Carmen asked.

with what I thought was the right thing to do and it was." TK told her and then
she added, "And I'll be scared the first time that we make love."
"Why, you know what to do, you've done it before." Carmen said obviously
puzzled with what TK had told her.
"I haven't made love with you before so I won't know what you will like or not
like so it will be like the first time I have made love. So you see, we'll both be
starting from scratch." TK told her and she saw that Carmen smiled.
TK kissed her lightly on the lips and then she reached over and turned off
the light and they settled down to sleep. This time Carmen kissed her goodnight
while she was still awake and TK took full advantage of this by kissing her back.
The next morning it was back to the normal routine or rather the new
normal routine. TK woke up and she saw that Carmen was already up and dressed
and working at her computer. TK got on up out of the bed and she went over to
where Carmen was sitting. She bent down and kissed Carmen on the cheek and
said, "Morning."
"Oh morning, sweetie." Carmen said smiling and she tilted her head up and
TK knew what she wanted and she bent back down and kissed her on the lips this
time. When the kiss ended, TK went on into the bathroom and she got ready for
the day to begin.
They went to breakfast, holding hands on the way to and from the dining
area. From there, Carmen gathered her things and she went to the lab for a couple
of hours while TK went for her morning run and then after a shower, she sat down
and worked on a paper that she had to write for her biology class. When Carmen
came back in, she reviewed the paper making a few corrections and then they
studied for a while longer.
"Well I'm done for this day, how much longer are you going to be?" TK asked
as she got up and sat down on the bed and then lay back on it with her feet still on
the floor and she closed her eyes.
"It looks like I'm going to be at this all day, I can't seem to get it to work
today.
TK let out a groan as she was hoping that they could go and do something for
a while. Then she felt something heavy land on top of her. "Ohhh!" She cried out as
she heard Carmen giggling as she bounced on her.
"Oh I'll get you for that!" TK cried as she got her breath back and she

"I figured you would say that." TK said as she thought of something for

"You'll see, just come along." TK said.

room.

back to her work and TK went back to her studies but after that, Carmen always

"You know it's not just your hair that I like about you." TK said as they lay in

with her hair falling down around TK's face blocking off some of the light from the
beside lamp.
"I don't what it is about you but you seem to be getting to me more each

"I'm glad you feel that way and I feel the same way about you." Carmen

"Thank goodness for that." TK said as she let her right hand curl around to

she turned her attention to the movie which had started but TK could see that

They ate a few pieces of pizza apiece and then TK put the rest into the

toss out an idea only to have one or the other of them shoot it down. They were

"I didn't see you say or do anything when she handed you your milk." TK said
and then she continued before Buffy could say anything, "Oh wait a minute, I did

Carmen let out a laugh and then she said, "She's got you there Buffy." And

When the laughter died down, TK got to thinking that she had never
introduced Carmen to Buffy yet Carmen obviously knew her name. "Do you two know

"Just when did this occur?" TK asked just wondering how Carmen and Buffy
had met and wondered if it was before or after she had met her.
"You remember when I suggested that you go see Carmen when you were
first having trouble with your statistics class and I said that I knew of a couple of

"Yea," TK replied.

I went to summer school to get my calculus classes over with as I'm terrible with
math. Someone suggested that I go to Carmen and she helped me through the
class. So when you started having trouble, I thought that Carmen was just the
person to help you, plus I thought that maybe you could become friends. You were
this big softball player and she loves sports so I thought that you two would be a
perfect fit." Buffy confessed.
TK looked over at Carmen and she saw that she was just as surprised by
this as she was. "So you set us up?" TK asked bothered but yet not bothered by
Buffy's confession.
"Yes I did and it eventually worked out even through you had me worried
there for a while." Buffy said as she looked at TK and TK felt bad for a moment as

"I don't know whether to be mad at you or come over there and kiss you." TK

"Yes we are but that doesn't let Buffy off the hook. I still have a key to her
room and I may come down there one night." TK said ominously as she saw Buffy's

"I did but she canceled out on me. Her English professor decided that

and she thanked the waitress as did Buffy and Carmen. They then set into eating
and they all had to admit that the food was actually pretty good. As they ate,

Ann and she was going to be a grade school teacher like she was. When they were
done with their meal, the waitress then brought them out a dish of blueberry

"It has been a nice evening hasn't it?" Carmen said as she sat down at her
desk.
