Subject: basketball conclussion / athletics

 I kow its been almost 2 years since i started telling our story after
some proding from a few reader's here is the final chapter .

  After that afternoon in Kara's bed Jenn had finally felt complete. No
one in the house said anything about the noise they had caused that first
morning . Upon returning to campus.
  Not knowing how to react with eachother in front of friend's , but
everyone seeing the love to two had for the other , all wishing they had
someone like that. Jenn got busy getting in shape for the up coming
season . Jogging every morning with Kara both wanting to do well in their
respected sport. It's a wonder looking back now i still shake my head at
all the events that happend that we pulled through even in our darkest
hour .
  Walking back to the dorm after one of Kara's swim meats , a group of
guy's and a few of Jenn's  team members were playing a pick up game they
wanted Jenn to play . After some begging and pleading jenn took off down
the court , weaving and cutting between players. Wide open taking the
shot from outside , nothing but net , hearing her # 1 fan on the grass
yelling and cheering.

  The girl's were beating the guys and they were starting to get alittle
upset . jenn had a open fast break dribbling down the side going up for
the shot one of the guys cutting her legs out from under her on the way
down . It seemed like everything was in slow motion watching her body do
a flip in the air and her come crashing to the concrete landing on her
head seeing it snap back . Her laying there legs twisted back her eyes
staring straight up into the blue sky .

  Kara screaming " someone call 911" , tears streaming down her face
knealing over Jenn . " Don't move bbaby there coming'' , her teammates
crowding around . The guy crying saying he was so sorry. Blinking her
eyes focusing seeign evryone above her , "karrraaa " trying to talk tears
running down her face. " It hurt's" . " I know baby don't move please god
let them get here soon ".

  Pushing his way through the crowd the coach not believing what he's
seeing . Hearing the ambulance coming , pushing everyone back.

  Jenn closing her eye's praying please god this can't happen not now.
The crew bringing the streatcher in , getting all the info on what
happened , putting a brace around her neck getting the iv's going
straping to a back board . Into the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

  Blacking out from the pain , coming in and out from all the drugs. Not
knowing what is happening to herself hearing the machines . Out in  the
hall the coach talking with the doctor . " So what are you saying then ,
" Kara watching the Dr. and coach " her back is broken in two places ,
there is pressure on the spinal cord , there is alot of swelling we are
going to have to wait for it to subside before we will know anyhting".
Coach turning and wiping the tears from his eye's see Kara standing there
shaking his head no.

  Stepping into the room seeing Jenn is awake seeing she has been crying
also. Taking her hand see her looking into her eye's . "I love you Jenn ,
its going to be ok ' , Kara's voice cracking ,squeezing her hand gently
not getting any reaction from her hand when she does. " No it's not".
Jenn already knowing what God has delt her and trying to come to grips
with the thought of not ever getting to walk again, and thinking of the
one person she can't put through all the thing's yet to come.

  Laying in the hospital bed not being able to move is a frieghtening
thing to some one who had every thing going right in their life for once.
No family to help carry the load and to help take care of the many needs
that lay in store . After talking with the DR. to figure out what to do ,
after the swelling went down it still left Jenn in a wheel chair
paralized from the waist down. Going through rehab trying to figure out
what to do with the rest of her life . All of her extended family from
college stood by her side all the way . Even with trying to constantly
push Kara away , finally getting it through her hard head that that girl
loved her no matter what.

  Hearing the door to her room open , turning to see Katherine standing
there, " Hi, sweety you ready to get out of here and get home".  Jenn
looking up at the most loving mother in the world " yeah, Katherine i
am",  " You know it's mom now not Katherine , even though you are my
daughter's lover , i still think of you as another daughter ok" leaning
down kissing the top of her head. "Ok mom lets go".

  Kara finished with her degree , i changed my major and graduated as
well . Kara's parents will never really understand how much they have
touched my heart .  We grow stronger as a couple everyday i run a
sucessfull business. Kara has her own practice , we have two adopted
kid's that we just love to piece's. They are my legs watching them run
and play is all i need , i'm still in a chair but to me it's just a
accessory i put on every morning when i crawl out of bed.
