I felt the wind blow through my hair. Ignoring the signs screaming
"40 m.p.h" I had the bike going just about full throttle. The sound of the
souped up engine made me feel almost better. I just had to get out. I
knew Sean was worried about what had happened to me, but I just couldn't
tell her. If I did, I knew she'd want revenge for my sake and she would
get hurt. As gangsta as she thought she was, Sean was no match for Nic
when her blood was up. And believe me, her blood was up!

Without thinking, I rolled up to a white house with black shutters.
I cut the engine of the Ninja and parked it next to its twin in everything
but color.

	"Lex?"

	"Hey Chase."

"What's wrong, sister-mine? You look like a train wreck. Where's
Sean?"

	I sighed. "Long story."

"Well, I have all night. Bri isn't going to be back until
tomorrow. Went to visit her parents."

We walked in, grabbed gallon each of chocolate chip cookie dough
for me and Rocky Road for her, and settled onto the couch. I looked at my
twin for a second before diving into my ice cream. My twin is the mirror
image of me, with the same muscular body, brown hair and green eyes. She
lives with Bri her girlfriend.

	"Well?"

	"I was in a fight."

"Can see that, sis. You wouldn't have burnt leather to get here,
so what's wrong?"

"I got into fight with Nic."

"I told you she was trouble."

"Yeah, I know. Plus, I think Sean's mad at me because I didn't
tell her, didn't
go to the hospital, and left."

"Why won't you tell her and when do I get to meet Sean?"

"Whoops! Been a little preoccupied. Because she'll go up to Nic
and cold
cock her and I know she can't take Nic."

	"What started the fight?"

"She threatened Sean, wanted me to be her "bitch" and said other
impolite things."

"Me and you'll figure out what to do, okay?"

	"'Kay. Can I crash here?"

	"Of course."

We went to bed and I felt as though I'd gotten a load off my chest.
The morning dawned and Chase reminded me softball practice started at two.
Crap. It was not going to be fun playing softball when I felt like
something the cat dragged in. I rushed out of the house and went to class.
Everything was fine, but I couldn't bring myself to talk to Sean just yet.
And it seemed she was really mad at me anyway, which I did deserve, so she
didn't say anything either.

My school day ended and practice began. It was hell. Weights,
cardio, and practice, practice, practice. Chase was groaning a bit too as
we did our fiftieth run around the school. It was like being in boot camp.
Coach Sanders was acting a little nuts because our game was Friday and she
didn't want to start out the season with a loss, so she wanted us primed
and ready. About four hours later, we were released and began to stagger
back to our rooms. I was in shape, but I hurt in places I didn't know were
possible.

"Chase, I'll call you later." She nodded and jogged towards Bri,
who waved.

I waved back and began the trek home, when I was stopped by someone
tapping on my shoulder. I turned around and was enveloped in a kiss before
I could say two words. It took about a split second to realize who it was.
It wasn't Sean, but Nic. As I pushed myself away from her, all I saw was
Sean's face and then she turned and ran. I shoved Nic away from me and
chased after my girlfriend.

	"SEAN! Wait!"

	"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

I caught up to Sean and grabbed her.

	"FUCK YOU!"

"Sean, it wasn't what it looked like."

"Oh yeah, like I'm really that stupid. You just got back with your
old
girlfriend. That's why you rushed out of the house the other night
and that's
why you are being so secretive. WE'RE OVER!"

I uttered a low cry of frustration and kissed her. I couldn't help
it. Maybe what I couldn't say in words would come out in my kiss. Sean
kissed me back for a split second, even if her hands pressed against my
chest in rejection. She struggled until she finally broke free and wiped
her hand across her lips, effectively wiping away the last vestiges of me.

"Don't ever do that again! We're through" she said quietly,
tossing her long black hair over her shoulder. Her eyes looked sharp
enough to slice metal and gleamed bluely with unshed tears.

	"I...."

"Don't." With that said, she walked away, never looking back and I
just crumpled down by a tree, sick to my stomach.

	"Hey Lex."

"Don't you think you've caused enough trouble?" I said looking up
at Nic.

"MMmmm, now by trouble do you mean what happened just now or what
happened the other day?"

"Both. Look, just stay the fuck away from me and from Sean.
You've already had your fun, so just leave me alone before I really kick
your ass."

"But why? You are mine after all."

"Uh, I really don't think so Nic. Shouldn't you be getting back to
the psycho ward now? Aren't you due for your medication?" drawled Chase,
swinging my bat back and forth.

"Yeah" Bri said menacingly, backing Chase up.

Knowing she was outnumbered three to one, Nic just turned tail and
ran. My two avengers sat down next to me and gradually coaxed the story of
what had just transpired out of me.

<Oh baby when you talk like that/You make a woman go mad/So be wise
and keep on/Reading the signs of my body/And I'm on tonight/You know my
hips don't lie/And I'm starting to feel it's right/All the attraction, the
tension/Don't you see baby, this is perfection>

I looked at the caller ID on my phone, saw it was Lex and hit
ignore. I just didn't understand why she would do this. I thought she
loved me. I couldn't believe she was using me to get back at her bitch of
a girlfriend. I slowly made my way back to the dorm where I curled up on
my bed. Here at least, were things that didn't remind me of Lex. At least
now I wasn't surrounded by things that made being mad at her harder to hold
on to.

I ignored my phone, the pounding at the door, and Lex's pleading
voice on my voicemail and fell into an uneasy sleep. I swore I could feel
Lex's tongue and hands on me, bringing me to new and greater heights of
pleasure, but when I awoke, all I heard were the sounds of my roommate's
steady breaths. I groaned and rolled over. I had to get Lex out of my
system.

Chase and Bri took me out. They must have sensed my need to just
get away. I didn't get drunk or even take a sip of the booze that was
prevalent at this party. A couple girls came up, from the softball and
cheerleading teams to see if I was interested in a little playtime, but I
turned them down gently. I overheard one girl say "Geez, it's always the
best and hottest lay that's taken. She must be awfully into this girl. I
know Lex and there is no way she would have turned any of us down if
something or someone wasn't under her skin." They walked away in a huff.
Chase overheard and I just motioned that I was going home, alone. She
looked at me wryly but understood. While my twin didn't go through the
same thing with Bri, she was there when the explosion with Nic happened so
she did have some idea of what I had to do.

I went back home and decided to tinker with my M109R. That thing
had a set of pipes on it that could break windows, but for some reason the
motor wasn't performing exactly the way I wanted it too. I was just about
to start playing with it, when I noticed Sean's bike was still in the
garage. Not wanting to be accused of stealing it, I decided to bring it
back to her. I hopped on and rode off. Sean's Ninja came to rest in the
space designated for her dorm in the parking lot. Before leaving, I
attached a note to the bike, in the hopes that while Sean wouldn't return
my calls or even speak to me, she might read it. One could hope, right?

Lex returned home, alone, unintoxicated, and did not head straight
for her heavy punching bag. That in itself was strange since she always
needed something physical to keep her mind off things. I went to talk to
her to see what was going on, since I hadn't spoken to her or Sean in a day
or too.

	"Lex? You still up?"

	"Yeah, Tone."

	"You ok?'

	"Never better."

"Okay, cut the crap. What's wrong? Otherwise your twin wouldn't
have called me to check up on you. Where's Sean?"

"Nic started trouble again and Sean's not speaking to me because
she thought I was using her. Happy now?"

	I was silent.

"Toni, I know what you're thinking. DO NOT go and talk to Sean."

	Still said nothing.

"Please" she whispered faintly, finally succumbing to the oblivion
total exhaustions creates.

I didn't know what to do. Lex told me to stay out of it, yet I
couldn't see both of my friends suffering because of Nic's antics and their
own stubbornness. I had to fix this, since in a way I was partly
responsible. I went to sleep thinking "What to do, what to do?"

The day of the softball game dawned crisp and clear. The coach was
trying to get everyone pumped and ready to cream the Cougars. It worked,
but only to a point. I was trying to get my head ready for the game, but
thoughts of Sean kept intruding. "Would she be there?" I wondered. Chase
looked at me and motioned.

"Look Lex, just focus on the game and we'll fix both problems
after, okay?"

That sounded much better than the mental hell I was putting myself
through, so I nodded the affirmative. I donned my uniform, laced up my
cleats, and grabbed my glove. It was showtime! As Chase and I brought up
the rear, I could hear the crowd and banged into my sister at the same
time. Looking at her quizzically, she pointed. It was Nic, making out
with the Cougar's third basemen, Gen. Gen was about 5'5 and had medium
brown hair. She was also the one person I couldn't stand and neither could
Chase. The coach hadn't managed to pump me up, but after seeing that, I
couldn't wait to kick some Cougar ass!

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PLEASE WELCOME THE MANHATTANVILLE COUGARS!
<Cougars line up to boos and catcalls> AND NOW PLEASE WELCOME THE
BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEE KNIGHTS!"

The team trotted onto the field and took their places. We were
set. Everyone had their game faces on. The Cougars were going to be in
for a fight. I took my place at the pitching plate. I nodded once to
Chase at shortstop and everyone else gave me the go ahead. The first
batter was called out swinging, as where the second and third. It was our
turn. Chase singled, Kate got a double and then it was my turn. The first
pitch was high. On the second, the only sound that was heard was the
CCCRRAAACCCKKK! of the impact of my wooden bat on the ball. It went deep,
deep, into left field and over the fence. YESSS!!! The Blue Knights
pulled ahead, 3-0. Julia and Bri were caught swinging and Whitney hit a
long fly ball that was subsequently caught. The score was 3-2 in the
seventh inning, with the tying run on third. Gen, third baseman for the
Cougars was up. I grinned ferally and hurled.

	SSTTRRIIIKKEE ONE!

	I threw again.

	SSTTRRIIIKKEE TWO.

"C'mon Lex, one more, one more!" Bri screamed from second.

"Last one," I thought to myself as I chucked the ball.

	CRACK!

	WHAM!

	"OOOOOFFFFF!"

I wasn't fast enough and felt the ball impact on my shoulder and
crumpled, gasping. The umpire yelled "TIMEOUT!" as my coach and teammates
rushed towards me. Chase reached me first, while Bri went after Gen.
Coach Sanders grabbed her before she beat the crap out of the Cougar's
third baseman. After getting Bri under control, she said "Lex out.
Marino, warm UP!"

"Coach, I can finish this. Marino, back on the bench!" I roared at
the unlucky freshmen.

"Are you sure?" she asked as Chase looked on worriedly.

I nodded an affirmative and got back into the pitching circle. I
looked at the batter. Gen just grinned, happy with her work. Without
warning, I heaved a change-up at Gen.

	SSTTRRIIIKKEE THREE! YER OUT!"

The Blue Knights won, 3-2 against the Cougars. My team rushed
towards me in congratulations and happiness. We made our way back to the
locker room with happy spirits. Even Coach Sanders was happy. Plans were
quickly made to go out and celebrate. Bri, Chase, and I got ready quickly
not really in the mood to celebrate. I had a date with a few ice packs and
the other two wanted a little alone time, not that I could blame them.

As the three of us walked out to the parking lot, I saw Nic and Gen
harassing Sean. I looked at Chase and grinned. As much as my shoulder
hurt, I wanted to kick some ass. We waded in just as Nic copped a feel of
Sean's chest. Chase took on Gen, I knocked the shit out of Nic, and Bri
just looked on, smiling. They finally crawled away and I looked at Sean.

	"Are you okay?"

	"Fine Lex. Can we talk?"

	"Sure. What's up?"

"Not here" she said, looking at my twin and her companion.

"Oh, sorry. Should have done this earlier. Sean this is my twin,
Chase and her girlfriend Bri."

"Whoops. Hi, that was a great game you guys played."

"Thanks. Sean, Lex, we'll see you two later, ok?"

They left and me and Sean were semi-alone.

	"My place?" I asked.

	"Yeah."

I hopped on the Ninja and Sean jumped on the back, holding me
tightly, her breasts pressed tightly against my back and her chin on my
shoulder. MMmmm, I had missed the feel of her against me. I almost wished
the ride could last forever, since I was sure she wanted to call it quits.
