The Photographer's Assistant
Part Two
By Chris
It was when she picked up her bag, that she noticed the bag from the
camera store. She figured that it was just the bag that Caroline's camera
was in, that is until she picked it up seeing that it was too small a bag
for the camera and then she remembered that Caroline had put her camera
back into the bag when she got to the motel. She reached into the bag
feeling a small box in the bottom. She then remembered the way Nathan and
Caroline were acting when Caroline was paying for her camera and she had a
pretty good idea wath was contined within the box.
"You wouldn't happen to know how these lens filters made it into my
car do you?" Sheila texted to Caroline once she got into her bedroom.
Sheila received a text from Caroline almost immediately "What lens
filters?" was what Caroline texted.
"You know what filters I'm talking about smarty pants," Sheila texted
smiling to herself.
"No I don't, maybe Nathan was being nice and put them into the bag,"
Caroline texted.
"Yea right, Nathan is real nice but he never gives anything away for
free so fess up," Sheila texted.
There was a pause and Sheila was wondering what excuse Caroline would
come up with next. "So what is your paper you got to do about? I was
meaning to ask you when you were here," Was Caroline's reply.
"Nice try, now about the filters?" Sheila typed into her phone while
trying to suppress the smile that was forming on her lips.
"If you need anyone to edit your paper, I'd be glad to help. My tutor
in English and grammar had a PHD from Harvard and she made sure that I
learned everything about grammar and catching common errors that most
people make." Caroline texted.
Sheila let out a frustrated sigh realizing that Caroline wasn't going
to admit to anything. But she wasn't going to give up just yet, "I just
might take you up on that offer."
"Then meet me Monday afternoon at the library and I'll give it the
once over," Caroline texted.
Sheila thought this over for a moment before deciding that it might
not hurt to let Caroline look her paper over, it was important that she get
it right. "Okay see you about three?"
"Sure that will be great, glad I can help you out," Caroline texted
and Sheila just knew that Caroline was grinning at that moment.
Sheila pulled out her laptop and began to work as she continued to
text with Caroline. Mostly they talked about the paper that Sheila was
working on and Caroline did have a couple of good ideas on some of the
points that she was making. After a couple of hours, Sheila began to get
tired and her bed started to call out her name. So Sheila told Caroline
that she had to go but not before making one last stab at her.
"Oh and thanks for the lens filter, I do appreciate it," Sheila said
hoping to catch Caroline off guard.
"You're welcome," Caroline texted back.
"So you did buy it for me you little fink," Sheila said grinning from
ear to ear.
"FIDDLE STICKS!" Caroline texted back.
"Got you!" Sheila texted to her.
"That wasn't fair, you caught me off guard!" Caroline texted back
putting a frown emoticon after her text.
"I know, I'm a sneaky bitch aren't I," Sheila said grinning.
"Yes you are sneaky," Caroline texted back.
"I'm a sneaky what?" Sheila texted back just to see what Caroline
would say.
"You're a sneaky young woman," was what Caroline typed.
"Oh you can do better than that," Sheila said now wanting to get
Caroline to say it.
There was a long pause and Sheila could just see Caroline trying to
figure out a way to say bitch without actually saying bitch. She figured
that as smart as Caroline she would figure out a way to do it.
"You a sneaky B_____!" came Caroline's reply.
"Close enough for the first time," Sheila typed putting a big grin
emoticon after it.
"Now go to bed and I'll see you Monday," Caroline typed.
"Night," Sheila typed.
She was a bit late getting to the library on Monday and then she
wasn't sure where she was supposed to meet Caroline, since she had just
said to meet her there. Sheila figured that Caroline would be at the front
entrance but she was coming from the back side so she just went through the
first floor going on back out. She immediately saw Caroline standing on the
top step waiting for her. She snuck up behind of her.
She got real close before putting her hands to Caroline's sides and
saying "BOO!"
Caroline let out a yelp and Sheila had to grab onto her to keep her
from tumbling down the stairs. Caroline then turned and upon seeing Sheila,
she immediately hit her on the shoulder.
"You scared me to death you little..." Caroline said ending her
sentence without saying what Sheila knew she wanted to say.
"Bitch?" Sheila asked grinning.
"Yes that!" Caroline said but now she was smiling.
"You already text it so you can say it," Sheila said still grinning
thought Caroline hadn't actually spelled out all the letters.
"Yea and Nanny Kay will come down here and give me a real good
switching," Caroline told her.
"Did she really use a switch on you?" Sheila asked not believing that
anyone would do that nowadays.
"Yea but not all that hard, it hurt my feeling a lot more than it did
my bottom. I hated to disappoint Nanny Kay and she knew that so it didn't
take much to make her point." Caroline said in a loving manner.
"Oh I see," Sheila said feeling a little better about what Nanny Kay
had done to Caroline. For some reason it hurt her that someone might hurt
Caroline, like she needed to be protected and she felt like she needed to
do so.
"However if you keep scaring me and making me say bad words, I won't
be so easy on you," Caroline told her serious like.
"Oh is that so?" Sheila asked raising her eyebrows at her.
"Yes I will and I'll make you go cut the switch and if it isn't long
and strong enough, you'll have to get me another!" Caroline said.
"Is that a threat?" Sheila asked.
"Nope a promise!" Caroline stated before laughing.
"Yea like you could hurt a flea," Sheila told her and Caroline's
smile confirmed her theory.
"So what's your paper about? You never really told me the other
night. You just gave me some sentences you needed help on. " Caroline asked
as they began to walk to the entrance of the library.
"Is nude photography a true art form?" Sheila stated and she wondered
what Caroline's response would be.
"Oh course it is, that's a silly question." Caroline flatly stated.
"Not to everyone, some think any time a photo of a naked woman or man
for that matter is dirty and a moral outrage" Sheila told her.
"Well they're stupid," Caroline told her.
"Maybe but don't read my paper that way, have a neutral point of view
if you can," Sheila told her.
"Oh I'm not here to see if you made your point, only to see that each
sentence is structurally correct and what might need to change to make the
sentence say what you intended it to say." Caroline said and Sheila could
almost see one of Caroline's tutors telling her that same thing.
They went on to one of the study rooms where they could talk without
disturbing everyone else. They put their bags on the table and Sheila got
her paper out. She had planned on just putting it on a jump drive but
Caroline insisted that she print it out. As she put the paper in front of
Caroline, she saw Caroline taking out a pair of glasses from their designer
case.
"I didn't know you wear glasses," Sheila stated.
"Only when I have to do a lot of reading, otherwise I end up with a
massive headache." Caroline said with a smile.
"Well you look nice with glasses on, they make you look
sophisticated," Sheila said meaning it as it really did.
"You mean it makes me look like a nerd," Caroline said with a laugh
that really wasn't a joyful laugh, more of a putting herself down laugh
which was what she was doing.
Sheila put her hand onto Caroline's arm causing her to look at her,
"No I mean that it gives you a sophisticated look," Sheila said.
"Oh... thank you," Caroline said shyly with a bit of a blush but
Sheila saw that Caroline appreciated the compliment even if she didn't
completely believe that Sheila meant it.
"Now let me take a look at that paper of yours," Caroline said very
businesslike.
Sheila watched as Caroline began to read and she didn't get through
the first paragraph before she picked up her pencil, putting a star at the
beginning of a sentence.
"What is wrong with that sentence?" Sheila asked defensibly.
"I don't know maybe nothing, now be quiet and let me read," Caroline
admonished her.
"Okay," Sheila said though it was killing her to think that she had
made a fatal error in the first few sentences.
Needlessly to say, it killed her watching Caroline's pencil mark
sentences and words all through the paper. She wanted to tell Caroline that
the paper was being graded on its contents and what points it made and not
any minor or slight grammar errors contained within. Then Caroline had the
gall to make her wait as she read it a second time. Only then did she put
the paper down and turn to face Sheila.
She took off her glasses before saying, "Now take a deep breath and
calm down," Caroline said calmly.
"I am calm," Sheila replied though she was anything but that.
"No you're not, you're about to blow a vein." Caroline said with a
slight smile.
"What makes you think that?' Sheila asked.
"Because I hated watching one of my tutors grade one of my papers,
every mark they made killed me," Caroline said with a knowing smile.
"Okay I'm a bit upset but I couldn't have made all those mistakes,"
Sheila told her.
"You didn't make many mistakes; not quite as many as you think,"
Caroline replied.
"Then why did you mark up my paper so badly?" Sheila asked.
"Some points you made I didn't understand until I got further in the
paper when you tied a second point to the first one and it became clearer
as to what you were saying. And a few sentences I think you can say better
but that is up to you," Caroline said.
"Oh," Sheila said feeling herself calm down.
"Now are you ready to review your paper or do you need another minute
to relax?" She asked.
Sheila laughed, "No I'm completely calm now."
Caroline began to go other the paper and Sheila quickly saw what
points that Caroline was making and how to change the structure of a
sentence to make it read easier. Most of the points that Caroline made,
Sheila found herself agreeing with though she had to argue some just to
make herself feel better. But in the end, she figured that she would make
most if not all of Caroline's changes permanent.
"So what are you doing for dinner?" Caroline asked as they exited the
library.
"Oh probably have some noodles," Sheila said without thinking as that
is mostly all she could afford.
"Oh I can do a lot better than that, you need something more
nourishing than noodles to eat," Caroline said and before Sheila knew it
Caroline had her by the hand and leading her down the stairs.
"No I don't want or need you to buy me dinner," Sheila protested.
"I'm not going to; we're going my suite and we're going to order
something good." Caroline told her.
"You're still paying for my dinner," Sheila said pulling her hand
away and stopping at the bottom of the steps.
"No I'm not, my father is and don't worry he can afford it," Caroline
said with a slight smile, a sad smile Sheila thought at first but then she
wondered if there was something more to the smile.
"In that case I accept," Sheila said seeing that the sad smile turned
into a happy one.
"Cool but I must warn you that I tend to order only from the good
side of the menu," Caroline said happily.
"You ordered nachos the other night," Sheila reminded her.
"Well I do slip every once in a while and order something bad,"
Caroline said laughing.
"I can see that," Sheila said rubbing her belly making Caroline laugh
that much harder.
"Come on and we'll fill that belly of yours," Caroline said getting
her laughing under control.
So they began their journey across campus talking mostly about the
paper and some of Caroline's classes. Most of her classes where what most
every freshman had to take but a couple was the type of classes that Sheila
had spent her three years there avoiding. When they got to Caroline's
suite, Sheila went on to the restroom to freshen up a bit. It was a warm
late summer's afternoon and she had more than a bit of perspiration on her
body. She removed her tee-shirt and used a washcloth to wipe the
perspiration from her arms and body. When she came back out, she was
feeling much like a human being again.
"I hope you don't mind but I ordered for both of us," Caroline said
from her desk as she pulled the memory chip from her camera.
"No that's fine with me, you know what they have and what is good
here," Sheila said.
"About everything I've tried here is excellent." Caroline said not
turning around as she responded.
"Yea, I should have known that," Sheila said with a laugh. "So what
you doing?"
"Oh I'm downloading some pictures I took today," Caroline told her.
"You took your camera with you to class?" Sheila asked as she came up
beside of her.
"Sure I like taking pictures of the buildings and the other students
as I walk around campus," Caroline told her innocently.
"You know you have to be careful, not everyone likes having their
picture taken. And you don't need to be taking photos of people when
they're not aware that they're being photographed. And you definitely can't
post them anywhere without them giving you their consent." Sheila warned
her.
"Oh I'm not going to post them anywhere, just for me to look
at... and you," Caroline told her with a worried look on her face.
"I know you wouldn't, I just wanted to warn you," Sheila said
reaching down squeezing Caroline's shoulder to reassure her. "If you see
someone you want to photograph, go up and ask them. If they say no then
thank them and put your camera away so they know you are good to your
word."
"Oh okay, did you learn this the hard way?" Caroline asked.
Sheila smiled, "No but then I have had more experiences with a camera
plus I learned it from one of my professors."
"Well I'll be careful from now on," Caroline told her.
"Good, now let's see what pictures that you took today," Sheila said
as she pulled up a chair to sit beside of her.
"I hope that they turn out okay," Caroline said as she began to
download them into a file on her desktop computer.
"Remember that there is a delete button is for and it's used for,"
Sheila told her with a smile.
"I'm afraid that I may be using that a lot," Caroline replied.
"Caroline, I still use it and I definitely used it when I first
started taking pictures with that camera my father gave me." Sheila said
leaving unsaid that she really didn't use it that much as she seemed to
have a natural talent for photography.
"Well let's see what I have," Caroline said opening the file that she
had just downloaded the pictures into.
"I bet most will be great," Sheila said reassuringly while hoping
that she was correct.
The first picture was of the park that Sheila had taken her too on
Saturday, "Oh I went back to the park yesterday," Caroline said confirming
what Sheila was thinking.
"I can see that," Sheila said with a little laugh.
There were several pictures of the river and some of the flowers most
of which turned out pretty well. Caroline only had to delete a couple of
them as the camera focused on the leaf in front of a flower and not the
flower that Sheila had wanted to take. Sheila gave her a little lesson on
how to get around this when there things in front or next to what she
wanted to shoot. They were just about to get to some of the people in the
park when there was a knock on the door.
Caroline went to the door but before opening it she picked up a small
purse lying on the small table by the door, pulling a bill or two out to
tip the waiter who had brought up their dinner. The waiter wheeled in the
cart putting their dinner onto the small table by the kitchenette.
"It looks good," Sheila said looking down at the small chef salad and
the plate containing a roasted chicken breast, green beans and a bake
potato. And to the side was a small dish of mixed fruit for dessert.
"It is and has all the food groups represented," Carolina said with a
laugh.
"I can see that," Sheila replied laughing with Caroline. "You
definitely ordered from the good side of the menu tonight."
Sheila noticed a slight frown from Caroline as they both sat down at
the small table, so Sheila asked, "Is there something wrong?"
"Actually I didn't order this, I lied to you before." Caroline
confessed with a frown on her face.
"How so?" Sheila asked.
"I just told Carol that I had a guest dinning with me tonight and she
put the order in," Caroline told her and Sheila saw that Caroline was
embarrassed by this confession.
"Who's Carol," Sheila of course asked.
"She the poor lady that got stuck with taking care of my account,
she's near retirement so I think she got stuck with looking out for me and
making sure I get everything I need." Caroline said to her.
"Is she nice or a real bitch?" Sheila asked.
"Oh she's real nice, when I got here and met her; the first thing she
said was that she's going to treat me just like one of her
granddaughters. I just didn't know that she intended that I ate right and
didn't stay out too late." Caroline said with a bit of a smile.
"Sounds like she the perfect person to look out of you," Sheila told
her.
"But that's it, I can look out for myself, I don't need anyone
looking over my shoulder." Caroline protested.
"Caroline you'll be out in this bad world soon enough; enjoy having
someone looking out for you and making you eat all this delicious looking
food." Sheila said with a big smile.
"But..." Caroline started to say before Sheila stopped her.
"But what, is Carol really keeping all that tight a hold on you or
did she just tell you that she was?" Sheila asked.
Caroline sat back for a second, "I don't know, I figured that maybe
she was keeping tabs on me through the rest of the motel staff."
"My parents went on a weekend trip when I was a senior in high school
and they told me that Mrs. Manning next door was going to keep an eye out
to make sure that I behaved. I had always liked her until then as I was
more than old enough to stay by myself," Sheila told her seriously but then
she let out a grin. "Sure enough that first night Mrs. Manning called me
at eight to make sure that I was okay and I told her that I was. Then she
told me to be good and get a good night's sleep. I went to the kitchen
window that faced her house and I saw her turning out the lights and going
to bed. I then realized that as long as I didn't make enough noise to wake
her then I could do about anything I wanted."
"So did you do anything?" Caroline asked.
"No, once I realized that I did have the freedom I desired, I found
that there really wasn't anything I really wanted to do... except I did get
into my parents liquor cabinet and got a shot of rum. I tried to down it in
one gulp like they do in the movies," Sheila said stopping her story there.
"And?" Caroline asked.
"Once I stopped coughing and my throat stopped burning, I cleaned up
the mess I made when I spit it out and went and watched a movie," Sheila
said with a laugh making Caroline laugh too.
"That's probably what I'd do too trying to drink rum straight."
Caroline said as she quit laughing.
"I wouldn't worry too much about Carol, I think she'll give you all
the freedom you need or want, just don't have a wild party up here every
weekend," Sheila said laughing. "Now let's eat before it gets cold."
"Yea," Caroline said and Sheila suspected that went for both things
she was saying.
After eating the meal that Carol had chosen for them, they went back
to Caroline's computer to view the rest of her photos. The first ones they
saw were some of kids running around and playing. Here Caroline had more
than a few that were blurry so Sheila had to reassure Caroline that it
wasn't really her fault. It was hard to take action pictures and she showed
Caroline which setting she needed to use where the camera could focus
quickly and take a series of pictures quickly. Next Caroline went from kids
running about to people sitting having picnics and just sunning themselves.
They went through several pictures that actually were pretty good and
Sheila told her so making Caroline smile with pride. Sheila had begun to
like to see Caroline smile as it was such a sweet smile and her face seem
to light up as she did so.
"Wait a minute, go back to that picture," Sheila said as something in
the photo caught her eye and she had to make sure she was seeing what she
thought that she had seen.
"What did I do?" Caroline asked with a bit of alarm on her face.
"Nothing, just go back to that last photo," Sheila told her.
"Okay," Caroline replied hitting the back button however she hit it
one too many times going back two pictures. "Oops."
"That's okay, let's look at this one," Sheila said looking closely at
a young woman sitting on a park bench. She was wearing a very short skirt
with a tight tee shirt.
"She's not wearing a bra," Caroline said as she zoomed in on the
young woman's rather large breast with her nipples visible pressed against
the thin material of the woman's tee shirt.
"Nice tits," Sheila said before she could think and she glanced over
at Caroline who was nodding with her.
"Now go to the next picture," Sheila told her.
"Okay," Caroline said looking at the picture of the same woman.
"Zoom in on her legs," Sheila instructed her.
"Why?" Caroline asked as she was doing so.
"Because I don't think that her bra wasn't the only thing that she
forgot to put on," Sheila said giving Caroline a wink.
"Seriously?" Caroline asked as she zoomed in on the lower portion of
the young woman's body.
"Seriously," Sheila said grinning at Caroline. "See she has her legs
parted in this photo. I think she was giving you a show."
"No way!" Caroline replied.
"Yes way!" Sheila replied with a little laugh.
They both looked in closer and a moment later Caroline exclaimed, "Oh
My God, she isn't wearing any panties... and she shaves her pussy!"
Sheila sat back looking at Caroline more surprised by what she had
said that what the young woman in the pictures was showing, "My God, you do
know a dirty word!"
"What?" Caroline said and then a very red hue came to Caroline's
cheeks after she obviously realized what she had said. "Oh sorry."
"That's okay I say pussy all the time," Sheila said grinning at
Caroline's embarrassment. "Now let's see what this young woman so wants us
to see, get in closer."
"Okay," Caroline said with her cheeks becoming an even rosier hue.
Sheila noticed that Caroline was looking in as closely as she
was. She obviously wasn't offended by what the young woman was doing. The
picture began to blur so Caroline backed off a bit to get the best view
possible. The skirt shaded her pussy a little but still they got a decent
view.
"She does have a pretty pussy doesn't she, not a hair to be seen,"
Sheila commented.
"Yes she does..." Caroline replied making Sheila wonder about
Caroline's sexuality. But she knew complimenting a woman's pussy doesn't
make one lesbian.
"Let's see if you got any more of this woman," Sheila said after a
moment.
"I doubt it," Caroline said with just the slightest of sighs.
The next picture was of a couple sitting somewhere near the bench
that the young woman was sitting upon. Since it was a lot less interesting
than the young woman they went on to the next picture which was of the same
couple now with a young child running toward the mother. They went on for a
couple of more pictures before another one of the young woman
appeared. This time she had her legs even wider and her pussy was in clear
view though there was something to the side of the picture that was blurry
and out of focus.
"Oh god, look at her now, she's showing her..." Caroline said however
she stopped herself before she said the last word.
"Pussy?" Sheila asked.
Caroline turned to face Sheila and her face was still had that rosy
hue but not as rosy this time. "Yea, that" She said.
Sheila smiled at her before she turned back to the picture, "At least
we know now she wasn't showing off to you," Sheila said to her.
"How do you know that?" Caroline asked.
"See this person at the side of your picture, there's someone else
taking a picture of her; I bet she is showing off for them. You just
happened to come along at the right moment." Sheila said pointing to the
side of the picture.
"Oh I see," Caroline said with a bit of disappointment in her voice
making Sheila wonder again.
"Well since this pretty woman wants to show off her pussy, let's take
a closer look at it," Sheila said though Caroline was a step ahead of her
zooming in on the woman's legs.
"Yes does have a nice..." Caroline was saying before she
stopped. Sheila gave her a slight smile though Caroline didn't finish the
sentence.
"Pussy? Yes she does, doesn't she?" Sheila said with a smile thinking
again about which way Caroline interest lie.
They both looked for a couple more moments before they moved
on. There were no more frisky photos but there were some lovely pictures
that Sheila complimented Caroline on getting her to smile and her face to
light up again.
They talked for another hour or so before Sheila had to go back to
her apartment to get some studying in. She was going to walk back to her
car, claiming she needed the exercise after the big dinner but Caroline
wouldn't hear of her walking across campus alone with it starting to get
dark so she took her down to the entrance where Caroline's car was waiting
for them.
"Nice car," Sheila commented looking at the new black Mercedes Coupe.
"Thank you, it wasn't my first choice of cars, a bit too flashy for
me but it is well build," Caroline told her as she went to the driver's
seat.
"I've never ridden in one of these," Sheila said sitting down in the
soft leather seats.
"Want to drive it?" Caroline asked.
"No I'd be afraid I'd hit something with it," Sheila said with a
little laugh.
"I trust you," Caroline told her.
"That's okay, I'll just enjoy the ride,' Sheila said.
"Well I'll let you drive it soon," Caroline said with confidence of
someone who was sure of that fact.
Sheila got several text messages over the next few days which she
answered back, if not immediately, she did answer them. And when she got
her grade on the paper that Caroline helped her, Sheila had to text her new
friend telling her what she got and thanking her for helping her to get an
A.
On Thursday Sheila got the text that she sort of been expecting and
one she wasn't sure how to answer. "Do you want to go do something after
you get off Saturday?" She asked of her.
Sheila was having lunch with Maddie, one of her friends, about the
little get together that she was having Saturday evening. Maddie was a gay
rights activist at the university and she was very passionate about her
cause. Most of the people at the get together were from the LGBT community,
mostly from the University but also from the surrounding community. It was
being held at Maddie's parent's house as her parents had always supported
their daughter and her causes.
"Crap," Sheila said when she glanced at the message.
"What's the matter?" Maddie asked.
"Oh it's a text from this girl I met," Sheila said and she saw a grin
come to Maddie's face.
"She's not that type of friend, just a freshman who I think is very
lonely and needs a friend and somehow I became that friend." Sheila said to
kill any romantic thoughts that she was sure going through Maddie's ever
romantic brain.
"Well invite her along, we'll be happy to have her," Maddie said.
"I don't know how she'll feel about going to such a gathering, you
know you all can get riled up at times." Sheila said.
"And you don't?" Maddie asked as she saw this issue in black and
white but then so did she, however she wasn't as open about it as Maddie
was.
"Yes I do but Caroline comes from a very conservative family and I
don't know if she straight or gay." Sheila told her.
"Hell Sheila, we all come from conservative families, we live in a
very red state which makes our fight that much more important." Maddie
replied. "So ask her!"
Sheila looked at Maddie who she knew wasn't going to shut up about it
until she answered, so Sheila wrote, "I've already got plans for Saturday,
I'm going to a little get together with some friends."
"And she's invited!" Maddie demanded.
"Wait a minute, she's kind of shy and might not want to be around a
lot of strangers," Sheila said defending her lame answer.
It only took a moment before she got Caroline's answer and she could
just see the disappointment in Caroline's eyes, "Oh, well have fun then."
"Invite the poor girl!" Maddie said as she moved over to the seat
beside of Sheila so that she could to see her phone. Maddie was never one
to mind her own business; she figured that everyone's business was her
business especially romantic business.
"You invite her then," Sheila said handing her phone to Maddie which
she realized was a big mistake as who knew how Maddie would go about
inviting Caroline.
"Never mind, I will," Sheila said quickly taking her phone back
before Maddie could type anything into it.
"Then do it," Maddie said with a grin of someone who had just won a
big argument as she had just done.
"You're welcome to join me," Sheila text and then quickly added,
"though there will mostly be people from the LGBT community,"
"I would love to meet some of your friends," Caroline quickly texted
back, "If you don't mind me tagging along..."
"You don't," Maddie told her. "And tell her you'd love to get into
her panties as you have this big crush on her."
"Hush I don't have a crush on her, she's just this lonely shy girl
who has made me her new best friend." Sheila told Maddie.
"Then maybe she has a crush on you..." Maddie said with a grin.
"Oh god, I'm going to regret ever introducing her to you," Sheila
said with a sigh as she texted Caroline, "No I would love for you to come
along.
"Just be nice to her okay," Sheila added, "She really is a shy
innocent girl."
"Oh Sheila, you know I will, I can be a sweet as honey when I want to
be... and mean as a snake when I have to be." Maddie told her.
"Well when I introduce her to you, pour on the honey," Sheila asked
of her.
"You know I will," Maddie said giving Sheila a hug before going back
to her chair so that they could finish their lunch.
Sheila was left wondering if this was such a good idea. She wasn't
sure if Caroline was ready to meet some of her more activist friends as
well as a couple of her former lovers who were sure to be there. And she
wasn't so sure that Caroline could accept that she was gay. She really had
no designs on getting into Caroline's panties as Maddie put it though she
had to admit that there was something about Caroline that seemed to get to
her. But the deed was done and she had to see it through.
Sheila became more worried that evening about inviting Caroline to
this type of party. All thorough Friday Caroline's texts indicated that she
was so excited about going with her to this little get together and that
she would meet a lot of her friends. Sheila wanted to tell text Caroline
the details of the get together and also of her own sexuality but she knew
that she had to do this in person and not through a text. Caroline did
insist that she drive which meant that there was a real possibility that
they just might be making an early exit. Sheila enjoyed going to these
little informal meeting and would normally stay until the end. But then she
figured that she let Caroline take her home and then return.
Sheila was waiting outside her apartment when Caroline arrived in her
fancy car which was so out of place among most of the other vehicles there
owned by mostly students. Sheila came on down to Caroline's getting in as
soon as Caroline pulled in.
"I'm so glad that you invited me, I so want to meet all your
friends," Caroline said excitedly and in the almost the same breath she
added. "Now you won't leave me alone there will you."
Sheila couldn't help but to see that Caroline was both excited about
being invited to a party and to meet new people yet at the same time her
shyness came through, fearing doing what she was so excited to do.
Caroline was just about to put her car into reverse when Sheila
stopped her by saying, "Wait a minute, I need to talk to you for a moment."
She then reached over turning off the engine for Caroline.
"What's that?" Caroline said as she turned toward Sheila with a bit
of fear in her eyes.
Sheila looked into Caroline's innocent eyes and she wondered if she
shouldn't just suggest that they skip the LGBT gathering and just go out to
dinner or something else a lot tamer than this gathering would be. But then
she knew that Caroline had a right to know who she had chosen to be her
first friend at the university.
"There's some things I need to tell you about where we're going and
who I am," Sheila told her.
"Oh god, you're not an alien from outer space and the men at MIB are
after you?" Caroline said and then she burst into laughter.
Sheila was surprised by what Caroline had said and it took her a
moment before she just had to laugh which did break the intense tension she
was feeling. "No I'm not an alien from outer space."
"Well that's a relief," Caroline said with a big grin.
"That's good," Sheila said with a matching smile.
"You were acting so serious there so I had to do something to break
the tension," Caroline told her. "You know whatever you're going to tell me
won't change my friendship with you."
"It might," Sheila told her.
"It won't," Caroline told her confidently.
Sheila decided the best way was to just put it all out there and see
how Caroline's reacted. "We're going to a LGBT gathering and most everyone
there will be gay, including me." Sheila said watching for any reaction
from Caroline, good or bad.
At first Sheila didn't see any reaction from Caroline but then she
saw just the slightest of smiles with a light blushing of Caroline's face
that Sheila didn't know how to read. "That's cool." Caroline said and then
she turned to start the car.
"That's all you have to say, just that it's cool?" Sheila asked.
"Yea, I'm cool with you being gay and I want to meet your friends,
I'm all for gay rights and the right to marry that should have been legal
years ago. It's all those righteous assholes that think they know what
they're talking about and they don't." Caroline said with conviction.
"You're right about that," Sheila said thinking that maybe Caroline
wouldn't be so out of place after all, at least she hoped so.
Caroline talked about what she had read about the gay rights movement
and she was so excited about getting to know some people that were active
in it. Caroline talked away making Sheila smile at seeing Caroline so
excited and more importantly at ease, at least until they arrived at
Maddie's house which was located in a upper class neighborhood on the
outside of the city.
"You won't leave me alone right?" Caroline asked as she pulled into
an empty spot on the street in front of Maddie's house.
"No I won't leave you alone for a second, I promise." Sheila said
with a smile seeing Caroline's shyness and nervousness return in abundance.
"You'd better not," Caroline said in all seriousness before she gave
Sheila a shy smile.
Sheila gave out a little laugh, "I won't."
"Then let's go meet your friends before they wonder what we're doing
out here," Caroline said shutting off the engine.
"They probably already are," Sheila thought to herself as she got out
of the car.
When Caroline came around the car, she came up to Sheila's side and
to Sheila's surprise she hooked her arm into her arm.
"You know, they'll think that you're my new girlfriend if we walk in
like this," Sheila warned her.
"I don't care," Caroline told her which made Sheila look at her in
wonder and in more wonder when Caroline asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No not at the moment," Sheila told her.
Sheila waited for an answer but she got none but she swore that she
saw the slightest bit of relief on Caroline's face. Before Sheila could
press her on why she would want to know, Maddie opened the front door to
welcome them in. Caroline gripped her arm a little tighter and Sheila
whispered to her that it was going to be fine.
"Maddie I'd like you to meet my friend Caroline, Caroline this is
Maddie who put together this little party," Sheila said giving Caroline a
formal introduction hoping that Maddie would get the message.
"Thank you for allowing me to join you tonight," Caroline said to
Maddie.
"Oh any friend of Sheila is a friend of mine." Maddie said with a big
smile then she reached out pulling Caroline away from Sheila to give her a
hug.
As she did so, she mouthed to Sheila, "She's cute."
Sheila almost let out a laugh but then Maddie released Caroline who
immediate went back to Sheila's side though she didn't grab her arm as she
did so before.
"Come on in and let me introduce you to everyone," Maddie said
stepping back to allow them to enter.
Maddie took them into the living room where most everyone was
gathered talking in small groups. Once Maddie had introduced Caroline to
everyone there, she left them to go let someone else in.
Sheila took over from there taking Caroline on into the kitchen where
there were some drinks and food set out figuring that would help calm
Caroline's nerves as she could see that Caroline was feeling a little
uptight. There were only a couple of people there so that made for a good
place to start. One of the women there was actually her old girlfriend
Lisa. While their romance was brief but very intense, they had managed to
remain good friends afterwards. For some reason Sheila failed to mention to
Caroline who Lisa was to her. Anyway Lisa was easygoing and never met
anyone she couldn't make a friend of and so she did with Caroline. Lisa
easily drew Caroline out getting her to talk and Sheila stood back seeing
the tension ease from Caroline's face, however as Lisa led Caroline out of
the kitchen with their snacks, Caroline looked back to make sure that
Sheila was following close behind which of course she did.
Sheila went from one group to another making sure that Caroline met
everyone and was comfortable being there. While she didn't talk a lot,
Sheila could tell that Caroline was taking it all in.
"So how did you like your first meeting with the radical dykes and
queers of the community?" Sheila asked of Caroline once they were at
Caroline's car.
"Sheila, I can't believe you said that!" Caroline said clearly
offended.
"I was just kidding," Sheila said grinning as she got into Caroline's
car.
"Well I don't like it so don't say that to me again," Caroline told
her and from the expression on Caroline's face, she saw just how deadly
serious she was.
"I'm sorry, I was trying to be funny," Sheila said apologizing.
"Well it wasn't funny to me," She replied.
"Did you have fun tonight meeting my friends?" Sheila asked trying to
make up for the way she worded her question before.
"Much better," Caroline said with a soft smile, "and yes I did, I
enjoyed it very much."
"I'm glad, I was afraid you'd be a bit overwhelmed with all those
people some of which have very strong feelings," Sheila said as Caroline
started her car.
"Yea I got the feeling that about half of the people there wants to
challenge every law on the books that keeps the LGBT community from being
full citizens and the rest wants to challenge them one at a time," Caroline
told her.
"That's about right," Sheila said seeing that Caroline had everyone
separated into the two camps.
"So which camp do you fall into?" Caroline asked.
"Which one do you think?" Sheila had to ask to see if Caroline was
reading her comments right.
"That's tricky, you seemed comfortable with either group," Caroline
said and then she paused as if she was thinking which Sheila allowed her to
do. "But I believe you are firmly in favor of doing it one law at a time."
"You think so?" Sheila asked just to see how firm Caroline believed
this about her.
"Yes I do, you're smart and know that here in the south that is the
only way you're going to get the laws changed." Caroline said and then she
glanced over at her, "I'm right aren't I?"
"I want to throw all the laws out and make it fair but yes you're
right, we have to do it one brick at a time until the wall crumbles,"
Sheila said with a smile. "What about you?"
"I say get a bulldozer and knock the damn wall down," Caroline said
seriously.
Sheila let out a laugh, "well you get the bulldozer and I'll drive
it."
"Deal!" Caroline said laughing with her.
They talked about which laws needed to be attacked first and which
ones that were already in the courts. It was going to be a long struggle to
earn the rights that straight people already had like marriage and the
right to adopt. Even after Caroline got to Sheila's apartment building,
they sat out in her car talking until they both began to yawn indicating
that it was time to put themselves to bed for rest that their bodies and
minds needed.
When Sheila got under the covers that night, she thought about the
night and how Caroline let a little more of herself out. She was still very
shy but she did voice her opinion when asked. She also realized just how
smart Caroline was and not just book smart, that she already knew. But
Caroline also seemed to be smart about people and had an understanding of
them. This surprised Sheila since Caroline had lived a very sheltered
life. She could see Caroline becoming a close friend, if she wasn't
already.
The next week Caroline sent her several texts and Sheila answered
them back immediately or at least as soon as she could. Then on Friday,
Caroline asked her if she wanted to go see a movie, this time Sheila didn't
hesitate as she said "Sure, she'd love to."
When Caroline dropped her off after the movie, Sheila knew that
Caroline had become her friend and she wasn't surprised to find that she
liked being friends with Caroline as she was a nice friend to have. She
didn't even mind that Caroline showed up the next day as she was getting
off of work, wanting to do something. They walked around the mall until
Caroline saw a young girl getting a pair of roller skates. Caroline
commented that she had never been and that was all Sheila needed, she took
her to the nearest skating rink. This provided for a night of laughs and
more than a few bruises.
Over the next couple of months Sheila took Caroline bowling, movies,
a couple of plays that the school put on and even a couple of
concerts. Through it all, Caroline always had her camera which seemed to be
attached to her hands. Sheila got to the point that she didn't mind
Caroline taking her picture. Well she minded a little but she stopped
protesting and even modeled a little for her, just for fun. And when
Sheila went to take her own photographs, Caroline was usually at her side,
helping with the equipment and taking it all in. Of course while Sheila
took photos of flowers or buildings or the stars, Caroline was taking
pictures of her.
The first week of November the university had a job fair for all the
seniors. Caroline helped prepare her with the interviews that Sheila had
arraigned for that last day and when she finished the last one at about
five, she met Caroline at Caroline's apartment where Caroline already had
dinner ready for her.
"So how did it go?" Caroline asked as soon as Sheila entered the
suite.
"Exhausting," Sheila said trying to smile though she was sure that
her facial expression showed her state of mind.
"I can see that," Caroline said, "sit down and let's get something in
your belly, that'll make you feel better."
"You sound just like my mother," Sheila said with a little laugh.
"Well she is right," Caroline said firmly. "Now eat!"
"Yes mother," Sheila said laughing a bit more feeling a little better
about the day and the interviews.
"So did any of the interviews sound promising?" Caroline asked only
after Sheila had taken a bit of her dinner.
"A couple but I think the last one was the best," Sheila said.
"What's it?"
"A advertising firm in New York, they're one of the best and they
liked my portfolio but they want more pictures," Sheila told her.
"Well we can get those, you got thousands for us to go through,"
Caroline told her.
"Us?" Sheila asked.
"Yes, you're coming over first thing in the morning and we'll start
picking out the best. You said that you took tomorrow off so we got all
weekend to look through them. That way you can send them to the firm on
Monday morning, that way they know you want the job." Caroline said firmly.
"You sure you want to do this?" Sheila asked though she could see
that Caroline was already thinking of what they needed to do.
"Yes I do," Caroline told her with conviction.
When Sheila arrived the next morning a little after ten, Caroline had
her computer set up and was ready to go. Sheila pulled out all her jump
drives and discs giving them to Carolina so that she could begin to load
them into her computer. Sheila had her load some of her earlier photos
mostly taken during her freshman and sophomore years. Caroline had a large
flat screen monitor so it was easy for them both sitting side by side to
view the photos as Caroline put them onto the screen.
After they had gone through several discs, Sheila saw that the photos
that she thought were what the advertising firm would like were the same
photos that Carolina was choosing. She began to get a real appreciation of
Caroline's ability to see what each photo held and what someone might see
in it. As the day wore on, Sheila put more trust in what Caroline was
seeing. Every time Sheila would protest a picture that Caroline wanted to
keep, Caroline would have an argument ready as to why it was important to
keep. So Sheila would give in a fair amount of the time, trusting in what
Caroline was seeing.
They took a long lunch break to rest their eyes and also their minds,
so they talked about school and Sheila told Caroline more about her
childhood which Caroline seemed never got tired of hearing.
By early evening, they had settled on which photos would go into
Sheila's new portfolio. These weren't what Sheila thought were her best
photos but neither of them figured that a advertising firm would be
interested in her ability to take pictures of buildings, sunsets, and the
moon as it crossed through the night sky. They wanted photographers who
could make a box of cereal look tasty. But then taking photos of cereal
boxes wasn't what Sheila wanted to do either, but it would help her pay off
her large student loans and also give her some real world experience.
"I'm glad we got that done, my eyes and brain is killing me,"
Caroline said as she sat back on the couch with her eyes closed as was
Sheila.
"Mine are too but I'm not yet done with what I need to send to New
York," Sheila said without opening her eyes.
"What else do you need?" Caroline asked.
"Pictures of models, they also want to see how I do photographing
people." Sheila said to her.
"What about what you do on Saturdays?" Caroline asked.
"I can't use them and besides they don't want to see families but
rather models, male or female or both." Sheila said.
"Oh..." Caroline said.
"Yea I like taking photos of nature rather than people and as you can
see that's all that I have photoss of," Sheila told her.
"Then we'll have to get you a model," Caroline declared.
"Maybe I can get one of the cheerleaders or someone like that, except
I don't know any of them," Sheila said as much to herself as to Caroline.
A couple of minutes later Caroline suddenly sat up, "Oh! Oh! I know a
couple of girls in my English Lit class that I bet will do it. There're
real pretty, slim with great bodies."
"What makes you think they will do it?" Sheila asked sitting up.
"Because they are always talking about beauty pageants they were in
and how they want to become models," Caroline declared.
"Did they tell you this?" Sheila asked wondering how Caroline would
know such girls and why they would talk to a shy girl like Caroline.
"No I sit behind them so I couldn't help but to overhear them talking
before class and see the magazines that they were reading," Caroline said
with this big grin.
"I see, well give them my number and tell them to call me but make
sure that they know that I don't have any money to pay them however a
advertising firm will at least see their photos," Sheila told her.
"Okay, I'm sure that I can get them to model for you and you're sure
to get the job then," Caroline said with confidence.
"I'm sure that you can too," Sheila said with a smile. "But now I'm
tired and I'll think I'll head home."
"You know you can just stay here, I got an extra bedroom you can
sleep in," Caroline suggested as she had numerous times before all of which
Sheila had turned down.
She was about to do so again but then she felt how tired she was and
the hopeful expression on Caroline's face, "Okay."
"Cool," Caroline said jumping up.
"Where you going?" Sheila asked.
"To run you a bath, you need to soak and relax," Caroline said and
was gone before Sheila could protest, but then again, a nice long bath
without anyone needing to use the bathroom to disturb her.
So when Caroline returned several minutes later to declare that her
bath was ready, Sheila thanked her and headed in that direction. When she
entered the bathroom, she saw that the bathtub was full, including nice
smelling bubbles. There was also a large fluffy towel laid out with
everything she would need for after her bath like lotion and new
hairbrush. Sheila pulled her tee shirt off and then undid her shorts
pushing them off her hips along with her panties; next came her bra leaving
her ready for her long bath.
She dipped the toes of her right foot into the water feeling the very
warm water as it swirled around the tub. Sheila smiled as she stepped on
into the bathtub sitting down in the warm water. She stretched out her legs
lying back against the edge of the large tub. The water moving around
underneath the bubbles immediately began to relax her. It was like a dream
come true to just lay there and not think of anything but just how great
the bath felt.
Sheila was surprised that after an hour, the water was still very
warm which meant that the jets circulating the water also kept it warm. She
so wanted to stay longer but she knew that she had been in the bath much
too long already. She sat up on the edge and using the razor and shaving
gel that was the little shelf on the back of the tub, she shaved her legs,
armpits and her pussy so that she would truly feel like a new woman. She
then drained the tub as she dried and put on some lotion that was much more
expensive that anything that she had ever used.
She put on the warm soft fluffy robe and opened the bathroom
door. She had taken a couple of steps toward the living room when she
passed by Caroline's bedroom. She glanced inside and what she saw stopped
her dead in her tracks. Caroline was standing in front of her bed with her
back to the door. She was naked except for a pair of plain white cotton
panty briefs. Caroline was drying her hair giving Sheila a clear view of
her back and that panty covered ass that begged to be
photographed. Caroline turned slightly as she was drying the right side of
her hair giving Sheila just a hint of her breast which appeared to be a
small C cup. Sheila's eyes moved down to Caroline's legs which were smooth
and well define with nice calves and firm thighs. But then again, Caroline
did walk back and forth from the university so she got plenty of walking in
every day. Sheila just stood there for another moment before she saw that
Caroline was putting her towel down. Not wanting to embarrass Caroline nor
herself, Sheila slowly eased her way back toward the bathroom.
