Part 2

I always seem to wake up early. It was about 7am, Kelly was still asleep. I
decided not to wake her. She looked so peaceful. I got up quietly and went
into my bathroom and took a shower. I must have awoken Kelly in the process

Later that morning after we had gotten dressed; we went to check on my
mom. To my surprise she wasn't there. I was rather worried we had done

upstairs and got our shoes on, deciding to go out for breakfast this

I looked at her, "Well Denny's does have good waffels..."

"Denny's it is then!" We drove to Denny's and went inside. We sat at a

again, I nudged Kelly in the side and she came back to reality. "Huh...oh
yeah...I want scrambled eggs toast and some orange juice please." The
waitress wrote it all down, and went off.

She smiled at me, "You mean you want to go out with me?" I blushed, people
were staring at us, because she said it rather loudly.

I whispered, "Yes, as long as you dont talk so loud so everyone can hear
you!"

She laughed and kissed my cheek, "Don't be shy. I want everyone to know
about us. Is that so bad?"

I glared at her, "Yes it is bad, I don't want the whole world knowing yet!"
The waitress came back with our orders and we ate breakfast rather
silently. I paid the waitress leaving her a tip, and we went back home.

The whole way home neither of us said anything to eachother until Kelly
said, "Please dont be mad at me Cathy, I didn't know it bothered you so
much...or embarassed you so much to be my girlfriend..." She was starting
to cry, "I'm not at all ashamed of being your girlfriend Cathy."

We pulled into the driveway and I got out and so did she, I went to her and
put my arms around her to comfort her, "Don't cry Kelly, i'm just not used
to it okay? I'm not used to people staring at me, at least not everyone."
She sniffled and hugged me tightly and we went inside.

My mom was in the kitchen making herself some breakfast, she looked up at
us, "Good morning girls." She didn't seem to say anything about last night
at all. "Where were you two off to so early?"

I looked at her, "We went to Denny's to have some breakfast, we didn't want
to wake you...we didn't wake you when we left did we?"

She looked at me, "No, but you did wake me last night with all that moaning

looked at us "You know I did have a girlfriend once, I just decided being

I changed the subject, "So who did you go to see?"

Her face saddened "You remember Polly don't you?"

I looked at her and started to cry, "You mean, Pol? No she didn't

breakfast and came over to me, and all three of us embraced in a warm hug.

The rest of the morning was basically spent with me and my mom crying over
Polly, until Kelly finally said, "I think we should go take a dip in the

My mom declined the offer with a, "I'm on my period..it's not such a good
