(This story takes place about 9 years in the future of Sally and Beth)


The sun had just come up and was peaking in the blind drawn window waking
Sally up.  As she opened her eyes very slowly and reached for her wife, she

While Sally was going to school for her IT training, Beth was in school to
become a Doctor of Pediatrics.  She always wanted to help and treat
children and she figured the best way was to become a doctor.  After Beth's

could finish up in 3 years instead of the 4 required.  Even thought it

her entire college career with a 4.0 average and graduated summa cum laude
(with highest honors) in 3 years instead of the 4 and went on to Grad
school to graduate from there with another 4.0 average.  Beth became a
doctor and even at the start of her career, (with the help of her parents
and Sally's parents) was able to attract parents with children.  She had
the start of a thriving practice and was even able to start making some
money.  So, between Beth and Sally, they were able to bring in a nice
salary for a couple.

Connecticut and you can be the best MCSEŠ and CCIEŠ in the state also.  Or

"Well, to tell you the truth Beth, I would like nothing better than to be
the best in the state at what I do and I know you want to be the best at
what you do.  I guess it's just in our nature to be the best.  Hey, looks
like we're just about at Lisa and Stephanie's.  Let's wait till later when

As Beth pulled the Lexus SUV into the driveway where Lisa and Stephanie

parents over? Is something wrong or did you just want to get everyone

"Just for that remark, I'm not going to tell you anything until everyone is
in the house and settled with some food on their plates." With that said,
Stephanie turned her back on Sally and Beth, grabbed Lisa's hand, who was
smiling from ear to ear and walked off into the house.

Beth looked over at Sally, "Well, I guess she told you off, huh!"

"Oh, ask me if I really care that much. Come on, let's get in the house and
see what all of the excitement is all about." With that, Sally grabbed
Beth's hand and they walked hand in hand into the house.

of this but took it in stride. Beth saw her parents sitting over by the
fireplace and walked over to them to say hi. "Hey mom, hey dad.  I'm glad

"Well, hello to you too sweetheart, and how has my little girl been doing
lately?" Beth's mother inquired.

"I'm doing okay. It's been busy in the office. I have to give quite a
number of flu shots lately.  Seems that the flu has started coming around a
little early this year."

"Well, at least they're coming to you instead of another doctor, dear."
Beth's father said smiling.

"And how about you Sally. How's the IT field doing these days?" Beth's
father asked.

"Well Dr. Wilson, it's been about the same. Very busy, especially security
wise. It seems that a lot of businesses want to make sure that they keep
their clients records safe from any kind of hacking, so they bring us in to
make sure their servers and computers are covered."

"I guess that keeps you very busy." Beth's father looked over at Eugene and
smiled because he knew just how good Sally had gotten over the last few
years. It seemed that she was a natural in the IT field.

Sally then walked over to her parents and gave them a big hug and kiss
also. "Nice to see you again Mom.  I see Dad all of the time but you very
intermittently."

"I know what you mean sweetie. I'm glad to see you when I can." Judy smiled
at her eldest.

Lisa and Stephanie were just sitting there watching all of the interplay
between everyone and letting everything just fall into place before they
sprung their news on everyone.

"Can I have everyone's attention please?" Lisa looked over at Stephanie and
noticed she was nodding her approval.  Stephanie joined Lisa over by the
love seat, and with her left hand, twined her fingers into Lisa's right
hand. "As you all know, Stephanie and I have been going together for 9
years now. We've been through high school and now college together." Lisa
took a deep breath. "This past week, I proposed to Stephanie and she
accepted. We are now engaged to be married!"

At that announcement, all of the parents got up and surrounded the two

"Don't worry about your sister Stephanie. We are both happy for you and

way home when Beth decided to drive some place that they hadn't been in
quite a while.  Sally looked over at her and smiled because she knew they
were headed for the park where they took their first walk together. Sally

back against the seat and sighed. She realized that she was very happy that
her sister and Lisa finally decided to get married. All she wanted was for
Stephanie to be happy despite her being "a pain in the ass" to her sister.

As they arrived at the park, the sun was just starting to set. It was the
perfect end to a perfect day. Sally and Beth dismounted from the SUV and
met around the front end of it. As they did, they wrapped their arms around

they gave each other would have made the angels cry. As they parted from

"I know, it's just remarkable how far we've come. The first time I saw you
when I was coming off of that soccer field years ago, I just had a

I followed through with it."

Sally and Beth just kept on walking around the path. Sally removed her hand

they continued to walk, they noticed another couple walking the opposite
way towards them. As they got closer to the other couple, they noticed that

then that Beth realized that one of the ladies walking just happened to be
Allison White from West Catholic; the school that her old school,
St. Francis beat her senior year as they went on to become State Champions.

noticed that Allison and her girlfriend were slowing down.  Evidently,
Allison White recognized Beth and started smiling. "Elizabeth Wilson, is
that you?"  Allison asked.

"I've been fine. I'd like to introduce you to my wife, Sarah.  Sarah, this
is the only girl to ever shut me down in a soccer game; Elizabeth Wilson."

years so far.  It just gets better and better with each passing day."

Beth looked over at Sally and just felt her love for her grow even more.

"I know what you mean. Allison and I have been married three years too! Our
love for each other just continues to grow which surprises us everyday."

As the women continued to talk, they exchanged phone numbers and a promise
to get together as soon as their schedules permitted.  The ladies broke up;
Sarah and Allison placed their arms around each others waist, said goodbye
and continued to walk in the direction they were headed originally. Sally
and Beth said goodbye also, placed their arms around each others waist and
continued to walk in the direction they were headed.

Sally and Beth were headed home for the evening. Their walk was a
refreshing change of pace for them. They hadn't walked in the park in years
and afterwards, they felt another page of their lives had turned.  As Beth
drove towards home, they talked about inconsequential's; Allison and Sarah
was their main topic but they talked about Lisa and Stephanie's engagement
and what it would mean, they talked about their parents and of course their
own lives and how everything over the past ten years had just enfolded.

Beth pulled into the driveway of their house and as she stopped the SUV she
noticed that Sally's eyes were closed and she was breathing deeply. Beth
leaned over to Sally and placed her lips against her forehead. "Come on
sleepy head, we're home."

"Huh, what?  Oh, sorry for falling asleep on you baby. Today was just a
perfect day and I felt so relaxed on the way home that I couldn't help
closing my eyes for just a moment.  I didn't realize that I fell asleep."

"No problem. Let's get in the house and get ready for bed."

As Beth and Sally got ready for bed, Sally turned her attention to her
wife. She was watching Beth remove her jeans, and felt all her emotions
brimming to the top for her wife.  When she first met Beth years ago, she
had a feeling that something would happen with her but never in her wildest
dreams did she imagine this future with her. She was so uncontrollably
happy, she couldn't believe it.

Beth was in the process of removing her jeans when she felt Sally's eyes on
her. She knew from past experience what Sally was thinking and was so
overwhelmed with love for her wife that she never even thought that she
would be having this future with Sally.

Beth turned around, looked at Sally and smiled. "Come on, let's hit the
sack. I know how tired you are and I'm starting to yawn myself."

Beth climbed in first, and Sally followed. Sally spooned up in front of
Beth and Beth wrapped her arms around her. The last thing that came to
Sally and Beth before they floated off into dreamland was how grateful they
both were to have found their soul mate early in life and how safe they
were in each other's arms.
