				 Chapter 5

"What do you mean 'I have parents'?" Pat and Andy said simultaneously after
Jenny finally told them the truth the next morning.
"Look, I'm really sorry that I didn't tell you. I wanted to, but it never
came up, and-"
"How can you say it didn't come up? Let's see, what about when we flat out
asked you in the hospital whether or not you had parents? Was that not forward
enough for you? Jeez Jenny, how could you lie to us like that?" Andy asked, a
hurt look on his face.
"I really wanted to tell you, but I knew if I did you would make me go back
home. That was something I couldn't bare." Jenny said.
"Did they hurt you or something?" Pat said, a look of compassion coming over
her face.
"No, not really. I mean, sort of. I mean, they didn't understand me." Jenny
said softly, knowing it was a horrible excuse.
"DIDN'T UNDERSTAND YOU! THAT'S IT?" Andy yelled.
"No parents understand their kids. It's a fact. I can't believe you would run
away over something that stupid." Pat said.
"I'm sorry." Jenny said meekly.
"Actually, you know what, I'm not sorry. I'm happy I left. If I hadn't run
away from that god-awful place I would never have met any of you guys. I could
never regret meeting any of you." Jenny said to them all, but at that last
statement she looked directly at Amy, and gave her a sad smile.
"Even so, I know I have to leave. I can't stay here knowing you guys don't
trust me anymore. And there are other reasons, but none more important than
that. I went out and bought a plane ticket last night after I told Amy the truth,
so I'll be leaving here in a couple of days. I was wondering if maybe you
would still let me room with you, even though I lied. It'll only be until Monday,
so for two days. I would really appreciate it.
"Well sure we'll let you room with us. It's not like we hate you. We just
don't think you should have lied to us." Pat said, reaching out and grabbing
Jenny's hand.
"Thanks. You know, I'm gonna miss you guys more than anything. I'll miss you
more than I missed my parent, that's for sure." Jenny said as tears started
welling up in her eyes.
"We're gonna miss you too." Amy said, and the tears that had been threatening
all morning finally came.

"So, what do you want to do your last night here?" Amy asked Sunday evening,
after their last shift was over.
"Oh, well I hadn't really thought about it. It sort of scares me to think
about it. You know, this might be the last time we ever see each other." Jenny
said.
"No it won't. I don't wanna think like that. If we promise each other it
won't, and we keep that promise, we'll have to see each other again." Amy stated
as tears started pouring. She quickly composed herself though, and said
excitedly. "Well, even though you haven't thought about it, me and my parents have,
and we decided to throw a little going home party."
"What are you talking about? Where are you taking me?" Jenny asked as she was
pulled downstairs by a giggling Amy.
"You'll see..." Amy said slyly as she lead Jenny to the place in the kitchen
where the pizza was rolled and cooked. When they got there Jenny found
Kristie, Joe, and Amy's parents sitting around a big pizza, with party hats on their
heads. When Jenny walked into the room, they all blew their own little party
horns. Jenny was so touched she didn't know what to say.
"We decided we all need to say goodbye." Amy whispered into Jenny's ear.
"We're all gonna miss you, Jenny." Joe said as he put a slice of pizza on a
plate for her.
"And, since it is a Quiet tradition and all, we've decided to go around in a
circle and all say what we like about you, and what we will miss when your
gone." Pat said after giving Jenny and Amy party hats.
"And me, being the lucky winner, shall start." Joe said. "Let's see, what is
something I like about you? Well, I like how you always chew with your mouth
closed, something Kristie has yet to master, and I'll miss how you always
cleared off your plate when you were done eating." Joe said while laughing.
"Oh thanks, I'm glad my table manners impressed you so much." Jenny said,
jokingly punching Joe in the stomach. Instead of replying he just took another
bite of pizza and gave her a bow.
"My turn now!" Kristie exclaimed. "Let's see, I like how you always pay for
yourself when we go to the movies, and I'll miss how you always put Joe in his
place!" Kristie exclaimed.
"I guess it's our turn now dear." Pat said to Andy. "We both liked how you
gave us your tips to pay for your medical bills quicker, and we'll miss the way
you always corrected the customers when they gave you too much money."
"And last but not least, me." Amy said as she walked over and gave Jenny a
hug, though making sure it wasn't too long so her family wouldn't suspect
anything. "I love your eyes." Amy whispered in Jenny's ear so that no one else could
here. "And I'm going to miss your smile. It's so beautiful." Amy again
whispered as a lone tear fell down her cheek.

Two hours later, long after Pat and Andy had gone to bed, the four teenagers
were still awake and talking with each other and laughing.
"So, I guess it's time for me to go home, my mom will be mad if I get back
too late." Joe said after he finished his last piece of pizza.
"I'll take you." Kristie said quickly. "I mean, I have to go home anyway, so
I could drop you off." She said, trying not to sound too needy.
"Sure, that would be great!" Joe said excitedly. "I was gonna have to call my
dad, and he would have been pissed. I'm going to miss you, Jenny. Maybe I'll
see you again someday." Joe said in a funny voice as he dramatically hugged
Jenny. Jenny returned the gesture with a punch to his gut. "See ya later Amy."
Joe said.
"I'm gonna miss you too, Jenny. You're still the sexiest bitch I've ever
met!" Kristie exclaimed teasingly. "Fight for her." Kristie whispered to Amy as
she walked by her. She gave the astounded Amy a knowing grin as she walked out
the door.
"Well, and then there were two." Amy said as she walked over to Amy and held
her hand.
"Yep, just you and me." Jenny said as she pulled Amy in for a sweet kiss.
"Not that I'm trying to take advantage of you or anything." Jenny said after she
pulled back, smiling for Amy's benefit.
"Would you be mad if I told you I wanted you to? To take advantage of me?"
Amy said, and both she and Jenny blushed.

Thanx for the E-mails. They were very helpful. I got it done a lot quicker
than I thought I would. I don't think I need any more, though. I figured out how
it would end yesterday. You can still email me, but I think it might be
better if you wait until the end of my story.
