Saint Valentine's Day
A Kim & Carin Story

By Mas

She said that no one's ever done anything special for her on Valentine's
Day. She said that she never got any flowers or chocolates. She said that
she always wanted some.

She told me this as we fell asleep. She told me this after we made love.
I knew that it was important, only important things got said when all you
wanted to do was sleep. The last minute things that are on your mind all
day. She usually fell asleep saying, "I missed you today," against my
skin. Or like last night, "You know you're cooking tomorrow right?" Then
she'd be knocked out a second later. That is until one of us woke the
other up burning up with need.

"I never had someone send me flowers..." and that was it. I held my
breath, waiting for her to continue, but only heard her quiet, deep
breathing.

She never asked for much. No she doesn't ask, she looks longingly at
things that she wants and says that she doesn't need it. Unless it was me
her eyes rested on, then a hitch in her breath or a lingering touch made me
anxious to get alone. But material things? I always applaud her restraint
and responsibility with her money even though she wasn't lacking
financially. Then if the bills are paid up on my end, I buy it for her,
whatever she wanted.

One night I surprised her with a gift of a Toronto Raptors jersey, she
nearly cried, telling me that I didn't have to. I sang Beyonce's Sugar
Mama to her, dancing and everything until she grabbed me and pulled me down
for some mouth to mouth...resuscitation. Small point of no real importance
that I was quite alive and breathing of course.

But this was different. I knew that I had to make it special.

I woke up early. The sun wasn't up yet and the streets were practically
empty, but I had a plan. Breakfast then some good ole fashion, "before the
sun rises" lovin'.

She loved oatmeal, and since we spent most nights and mornings together I
began to like it to. It didn't hurt that it was actually healthy. I'm
more of a bacon and eggs kinda girl though. But she doesn't hold it
against me.

I made oatmeal with a twist. That night I snuck in some fresh blueberries
and bananas with the groceries. I sliced it up and dropped them on the
steaming bowl. I had a rose that I kept in the back of the fridge for this
morning, so it was still fresh.

And of course I had a love note. I loved to write them for her, and it
made me smile to know that she kept every single one in a little box in her
closet. I've been told that I'm quite the romantic writer when I choose to
be from her best friend and roommate. She begged me to allow her read it
to her, to show it off, I had to say yes when she gave me the puppy dog
look.

'What else goes with oatmeal? Toast!' I popped two slices in the toaster
then slathered on some jam. Guava jam from back home that she told me she
loved. The water was ready so I poured it over her favorite flavor tea bag
carefully dropping in one teaspoon of sugar. That had to be the quietest
stirring that I ever did in my life.

I know that she loved yogurt but didn't know what brand so I had the only
two that I ever saw her eat in two little bowls. That should do it!

Now the music. I turned on the stereo and Frank Sinatra began to sing My
Funny Valentine, nice and low. I loved his voice, she did to. Then she
loved when I mimicked his voice. Just more reason to absolutely looove his
voice.

It wasn't too loud or too soft, I wanted her to be able to hear it when I
opened the door but not wake her up in a start.

I balanced the tray against my stomach and slowly opened the door. The
sight that greeted me made me smile. She was so cute when she slept. She
had my pillow tightly held against her. The sheet and blanket pushed down,
hanging on the bed for dear life. The t-shirt that she wore was just tight
enough and was the only article of clothing that she wore to bed most
nights.

I still haven't figured out why she puts it back on after we make love.
And most nights I never see when she does. Not that she has an explanation
either, "Just another weird thing that I do." I had to disagree. There was
nothing weird about Carin in a tight t-shirt. Her hair was sprawled over
the pillow, some over her eyes whose chocolaty brown was now hidden from
the world.

I gently placed the food on the bed and smiled as the song repeated itself.
I began to hum it softly and kiss her arm. She had shapely arms, slim,
smooth soft...especially her shoulders. Then my lips found her neck and I
pulled some of the skin that moved with her pulse into my mouth. She
moaned then stirred into wakefulness.

"Mmmm..." she moaned as she stretched and pulled me closer. Our lips met
in a slow sensual dance. I loved the way she kissed, every time we kissed
it felt like the first time.

My tongue traced her lips then pulled her lower lip into my mouth to suckle
on it.

"Morning..." I said as I held her lip in my mouth. My mouth moved to her
ear to pull her very sensitive lobe in for inspection. She began to giggle
and push me away only to pull me back.

Her eyes now fully opened gazed at me, she kissed me again then pushed my
hair around wildly.

"Hey, it's crazy enough without your help!" But we both know that I loved
it when she played in my hair. And I couldn't deny her anything.

"Morning," Her sleep soaked voice reached my ears and my eyes darkened. I
growled and attacked her throat again. "Haha! Stop! Stop! Kim!"

"You know how I love your sleepy voice," I pulled back and sat up. She lay
back against the pillows now fully awake so I held the tray before her.
Eyes opened wide in surprise.

"Happy Valentine's Day baby," Her eyes watered as she looked at the tray
that I placed gingerly onto her lap when she scooted up.

"Awee Kim..." she swiped at a tear then blushed. My hand found her thigh
and squeezed.

"Gotta make sure my girl knows how much I love her you know." She smiled
and pulled me closer then we just gazed at each other until she kissed my
cheek.

"I bought you something," she said shyly. Unlike her, I loved gifts and
practically jumped up and down until she told me that it was in her purse.
I pulled it out and smiled at the shape. It had to be jewelry. I tore off
the paper and ripped open the box then gasped at the necklace. It was so
delicate that I was afraid to touch it.

The gold was thin, and the pendant was half of a heart. In the back was an
inscription;

"FOR...C" I looked at her then. She had a similar necklace in her hand and
brought it closer for my inspection. Her half read, "EVER, K &."

"You have my half and I have yours," she explained.

"It's so lovely baby," I slipped it on and took her hand, turning it over
to kiss her knuckles. She smiled at the gallant gesture. "I'll never take
it off," I promised. Carin rolled her eyes but blushed again, and then her
eyes rested on the note.

"You're spoiling me with these love letters Kim," she slowly opened the
letter then picked up the rose and inhaled deeply, her eyes were glistening
again. I seemed to have tapped into a deep well of creativity when it came
to expressing how I felt about her. It was all worth it though when she
looked at me the way she was now. Those eyes...it looked like a thousand
stars were twinkling in them. "Kim..." She said then read the note out
loud.

My Carin,

A day isn't enough to show you and tell you about my love for you. Every
second I want you to know how lovely you are, how strong you are, how
gentle you are, how much you deserve to be cared for and cherished. I
think of you as a rare, precious stone some times; priceless, shining,
night or day. You're so precious that you deserve to be left alone and
only gazed upon, but I can't seem to leave you alone. Even when you sleep
I have to touch you and gaze at you. I find myself pulling you from sleep
to have you near me. You need to be loved like this every minute of every
day. So Happy Valentines Minute baby.

I'm yours,

Forever,

Kim.

"Thank you, I do the same thing," she said this as she polished off her
toast popping another piece of it into my mouth now and then. She liked to
feed me food from her plate. No matter how much food is spilling from mine
she takes something from hers and stuffs it into my mouth.

Even in public she did, "Can't help it, you're too cute." She'd say.

"Do what?" I asked as I settled back into the present.

"Wake you up just to hold you close." She placed the tray on the night
stand and took off her t-shirt. The pale light from an ever brightening
sky bathed her skin. It shone a soft ivory that contrasted with the auburn
hair that fell against my face. I pulled her hair back and held her close.
"You'd be on the other side of the bed and I'd pull at your arms until
you're holding me again."

"Baby you can wake me up any time." I kissed her and rolled us over until
I was sprawled over her naked warmth. "Lemmie show you how a Valentine
should be treated." I suggested. From her slow smile I knew that she was
game.

Our class was on break. I stood talking with a few class mates when my
cell rang. Absently I answered.

"Hello?"

"You brought me flowers..." Came her small voice, almost as if she was
whispering or just finished crying.

"You're home now I guess." I turned from the curious eyes and walked a few
steps away gesturing that I had to take the call.

Her roommate told me that she'd be home to sign for the flowers since Carin
would be in class.

"And chocolates..."

"Mmmhmm..." I chuckled at her surprise. She had to have known that I'd
buy her flowers she practically told me she wanted them.

"Thank you, they smell so good,"

"You love roses, I know, but these looked so much like you..." The florist
told me some name that I didn't remember, all I know it that they were
orange and red. Hot. Like Carin. I pulled on the necklace and lifted it
to look at the inscription again.

"I want you home now," she growled.

"Looks like someone dug into the chocolates..." I laughed at her sigh.

"Ohhh yeah, those aphrodisiacs are jus' shooting through my body." I
laughed at that. "This is really sweet Kim, thank you honey. I love you."

"I love you too Valentine," I rolled my eyes at my friends who made gagging
motions. "I'll see you tonight."

"You better not be late," came the warning.

"I won't be," I hung up and walked over, immediately they began to tease.
"Oh kaaay, yes, yes we all know that I have a girlfriend now."

"Looks like someone got a gift," for a second I thought one of then found a
hicky but I followed her eyes then her fingers as they reached for the
pendant then she read out loud. The ladies all sighed together.

"Oh she's a sweet heart, how romantic...forever..." her eyes took on a far
away look.

"You need a man." Someone announced to the laughter of the rest.

One of the guys nudged me, "Or a nice an' pretty woman."

Her room mates were in the living room when I entered the apartment without
knocking. Why they refused to lock the door still baffled me. Another
reason that I used to get Carin to stay overnight more often.

"Kim, wassup?" One of the girls asked. Jinny. She was from Vietnam and
was in Carin's program.

"Oh I'm cool ladies, how ya'll doin'? Oh, and happy Valentine's Day."
They both smiled at me, Kathy, the blonde law major jumped up to kiss me on
the cheek.

"You made our girl swoon! Those flowers were too much Kim."

I blushed and looked down the darkened hall way that led to her bedroom.

"She's home?" I asked, knowing that she was but liked to talk to them when
I had the time.

"Oh yeah, prancing around in them boxers you have around, gettin' high off
chocolate. She thinks she's so cool in those." Jinny smirked then turned
to the television.

"I wish my boyfriend could get off his lazy ass to buy me some flowers."
Kathy leaned over the flowers that sat in a vase half filled with water and
breathed in deeply. "I got a kiss on the cheek and a burp."

"I told you to dump his broke ass a long time ago Kathy," Jinny shouted
from the living room.

"Quiet, loud mouth, sleeping beauty is resting." Kathy came out with a
soda and handed it to me. I took it but left it unopened laughing at their
always entertaining interaction.

"She's waiting on her princess charming to kiss her back to life." Jinny
said with a smirk.

"Ain't that the truth," Kathy said pushing me into the hallway. "Don't
worry, we plan on having the volume real high. We know how...anxious Carin
was all day."

I shook my head as I approached the door, barely hearing Kathy demand the
remote only to have Jinny tell her in colorful words where to go find her
own.

My lips were still smiling as I slowly opened the door.

Carin was sprawled over the bed in a tank top and, as Jinny said, one of my
boxers. She looked lovely.

I walked over, shedding my clothes as I neared the bed. By the time my
knees touched the top of the bed I was naked. I pushed an opened box of
chocolate away and lifted up my body. Hovering over her, my eyes moved
over her face as she slept, watching as her lips twitched in a dream. A
small smile formed on her lips then fluttered away as a pout settled in its
place.

My eyes moved to her neck and the delicate gold necklace that was very
similar to mine. Then on to the slow rising and falling braless chest
which had me mesmerized for a few minutes.

I brushed my lips against hers and pulled back and watched her lips pucker.
I did it again, then pressed in closer turning my head until our lips were
perfect then I pushed my tongue past until it moved to the inside of her
upper lips. Her mouth opened on a gasp and I plunged in. Her hands moved
quickly to my waist as if to push me away then gripped me.

"Ummgh," she moaned in surprise, then closed her eyes just as quickly and
moved her hands to my hips. My nakedness met her approval. Her hands
spread and grasped me possessively closer.

"You're late," she murmured when we finally pulled away. I kissed her neck
and tried to look contrite, pulling a pout through my smile. She laughed
and kissed it away.

"I'm sorry."

"I know." She smiled as her hands moved up and down my back, every muscle
flexing under her touch. I heard laughter from the living room and thought
of the flowers.

"So you liked them," it took her a moment to catch up with my thoughts,
then she nodded her head slowly.

"Good," I slid her tank top off and sighed as our breasts touched and moved
suggestively just to see her eyes darken. "Very good my little valentine."
My lips neared her ears and sucked on her lobe, her hands held me closer.
"A little birdie told me you've been getting' wet all day for me." The
low, breathy statement seemed to be the thing to set her off because
suddenly I was on my back as she was positioning her self on my lap. I
pulled the boxers down and she flopped back to allow me to tug it off then
repositioned her body over me.

I opened my legs wider to allow for us to feel each other even more. Her
hands roamed up and down my stomach until they found my breasts. She
leaned forward and then her lips fastened to my breast. All of the
moisture in my body polled between my legs.

"Ohh yeah Carin..." I grasped her head to me as she moved over me, our
bodies soon picked up the pace of her lips and my hands found her hips and
moved them into me. Her clit rubbed against mine and I urged her on.

She moved to the other breast and I moved my hand between us to touch her.
My fingers found her heat and I sighed in pleasure.

"This is all I need..." Her lips released my breast with a popping sound
and found mouth hungry for her.

"I need you too Kim," She whispered against my lips. My fingers entered
her slowly then pulled back out then stayed at her opening, moving in slow
torturing circles. "I need you sooo much...so much...so much..." I pulled
her further up my stomach and moved inside her body.

She reached back and began to move her fingers against me as her eyes
closed. I watched her closely; saw when she bit down on her lower lip, her
forehead furrowed in concentration.

When she suddenly inhaled I curved my fingers inward and a smile found her
lips then disappeared as her mouth opened in a soundless shout.

My thighs tensed beneath her, I sat up to fuse my mouth with hers. I
searched for her tongue and sucked on it as her hand roughly squeezed my
breast sending little shocks down my body with each tug...each touch. It
felt like our movement matched our heart beats. As if someone was playing
a drum in our heads that our bodies danced to; that her body writhed and
grinded to.

When a whimper left her lungs I placed my finger firmly on her clit and
rubbed it slowly, spreading her juices over it. Her hands stilled against
me for a moment as she clenched around my fingers. Her body lowered until
her face hovered over mine, our lungs sharing air as her release neared.

I came against her fingers and felt her suck on my neck as her body
continued to grind against my fingers then they clenched again and she came
against me on a shout that echoed in my head long after.

"I don't want it...it to stop..." she said and slowly moved against me,
jerking, moaning as she pulled out every ounce of pleasure then she
collapsed against me as I held her. Calming her body as I breathed just as
erratically with words leaving my lips that I can't recall now, it's okay,
I've got you...

"You're my valentine forever Kim." I kissed her on the top of her head.
She sighed then we both fell into a comfortable silence.

She didn't move, and soon the deep breathing of sleep met my ears. I
couldn't fall after her; I was still humming with adrenaline. Her night
was going to be very restless so I let her dose off now. Valentine's Day
my ass, I don't think that I could love her enough in one day...so I won't
even try.
