I woke up around 5 the next morning a little later than I was used to but
was still early enough I dug into my suitcase and got out the safety razor
and shaving cream and went into the bathroom.  I turned on the water and I
forgot my clean pair of boxers and got them.

I checked the water and saw it was good and stripped out of my boxers and
stepped into the shower.  I was in the shower for 10 minutes long enough to
wash my body and was the stubble on my head and heat my face up. I stepped
out of the shower and I lathered up my face and shaved my face.  I dried
myself off and put on my boxers and went out and put on my deordorant.

I put on my red knit shirt and my khakki slacks and I got on the bed and
put on my socks and Sandi woke up as I was putting on my black dress shoes
I got from the Army.

She looked at me and said," Well, morning handsome, how did you sleep."

I said," I slept well we should be at least pretty close to California if
we aren't in California tonight."

She replied," Ummm that sounds great and by the time we get to L.A.  we
will be fully rested."

I smiled and said," Yep, we should be."

She went into the bathroom with her clothes and hair brush and was in there
for about 20 minutes and came back out in khakki shorts and a light blue
blouse and her shoulder length blonde hair looked absolutely stunning. She
went and put on her loafers and she looked absolutely beautiful. She than
put her dirty clothes in her bag and she closed her bag.

She asked," You ready to checkout and get a bite to eat?  I can try to pay
for my meal."

I laughed and said," Naw, this can be like our first date."

She laughed and said," Oh so now I know your motive."

I smiled and said," A man has to try anything doesn't he."

She said," OK well that can be good I guess."

We went out into the lobby and handed the keys to the front desk.

The manager asked," So Mr. Andrews and Miss Stevens was your night pleasant
for you and did you have a good rest also?"

We both said yes we did and we turned and got in the car and headed to the
road and we found a diner.

We got out and I held the door open for Sandi and went in after her.

We sat down at a booth and saw it was 6:30 and thought we are doing quiet
well in time.

The waitress came and gave us our menus and said," So are you 2 traveling?"

Sandi said," Yes, I am from Georgia."

I thought I heard a southern accent when she spoke and it sure sounded sexy
to me.

 I said," Well, I am origionally from Alabama but I just got discharged
from the Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky."

She asked," Have you 2 been together for long?"

I said," No, I stopped at a bar and was enjoying a beer and she was asking
about a bus."

Sandi said," I was so fortunate that Mike was there and he paid for our
room with 2 double beds."

She said," That is wonderful and in my opinion I think you should hold onto
him."  She asked," Mike what are you going to do in L.A.?

I said," Well, I heard that L.A. does the traffic condition reports with
helicopters and I hope to get that kind of job flying one of their
choppers."

She says," Sounds wonderful, Now I know you should hold onto him Sandi."

We both laughed and we looked at our menus and decided on what we wanted
and made our orders.  They brought back our orders and we laughed and
talked during our breakfast and my coffee.

We got done eating and I left my tip and paid ofr our orders and we left
and got in the car and on the road by 7:30.

The Rolling Stones was blaring on the radio and had the top down the day
was really starting well.

She said," What a great thought having a man like you as my boyfriend."

I smiled and said," You definetly would be a knockout girlfriend."

We drove on for about 9 hours and she asked if I wanted her to drive for
awhile and I said sure.

I pulled over to the shoulder of the road and I got out and switched places
with her.

As soon as she got in she pressed the clutch and put it in first gear and
off we went.

After about 5 miles I felt myself go to sleep.

It seemed like minutes but I knew it had to be a few hours and Sandi said,"
I drove as far as I could."

I asked," Where are we at?"

She said," About 100 miles south of L.A.. Do you want to change places or
got a hotel room?"

I said," How about we check into a hotel?  I was not expecting to be this
far and we can get into L.A. fresh tomorrow."

She said," Tjhat sounds good to me."

We drove to a motel and drove to the lobby door and I checked us in and
came back out and took the wheel and found a parking spot by the room and
got out a key.

I just got my suitcase and got out Sandie's suitcase and she grabbed my
elbow and I unlocked the door and we went inside.

I stretched and was ready for bed we definetly made good time today and I
will admit it we both had a bit of a lead foot but we did good.

Even though we had 2 double beds Sandie surprised me after she got in her
nightgown.

She climbed into bed with me and no I will disappoint you we didn't make
love that night I was too wiped out from driving. She snuggled up next to
me and she kissed my cheek.

As I was falling asleep she whispered in my ear," Mike you owe me a real
date."

I whispered back," You will get it Sandie after we make it to L.A..

I started drifting off to sleep smiling at the thought of this potential
heavenly relationship I have with this beautiful lady Sandie.
