Becoming Becky (part 11)

It seems like a dream-come-true when a young gender dysphoric boy has
understanding parents who supports his transition. When she gets engaged,
she faces the challenge of how to tell her fiancι! I hope you enjoy
this work of fiction.

––––––––––––––––––––

The next day was a work day, so there was only time for a little kissing in
the morning.

At breakfast Bill and Becky discussed wedding plans. Becky had a long-time
friend, Joanne, from a transgender support group in Davenport, Iowa. She
was going to ask her to be her maid of honor. I thought I would ask Dan,
one of my friends from work to be my best man. I thought I would ask my
brother and Becky's brother Bob to be groomsmen.

Becky wasn't so enthused about Bob being involved, but Bill explained,
"sure, he's been a jerk, but I wanted to show there were no hard feelings."

"Ok," said Becky, "but you know he has been a jerk most of my life. You
are a lot more forgiving than I would be."

Becky mentioned the names of a couple of girls from work she wanted to
include as brides-maids.

While they were not avid church-goers, Becky wanted a church wedding, so
they decided to do some exploring, and look for locations for the
reception.

They drove to work together, which was a really nice perk of living
together.

Becky didn't lose any time at work spreading the news of her engagement,
and recruiting brides-maids.

There was a rough wedding date planned, but it wouldn't be firmed up until
a church was chosen and arrangement made. Bill took a lot of kidding from
his friends about finally getting trapped by a woman, but he took it well.
Bill called his mother and made arrangements for their visit with them next
weekend. They would hold dinner until about 8pm because the drive from
Moline to Dayton was over six hours. Bill planned to take a southern route
through Peoria and Indianapolis in order to avoid the heavy Chicago
traffic.

While church weddings were really nice, Bill wasn't very excited about the
church part. Neither Bill nor Becky were fond of religion, which tended to
be so judgemental and certainly not at all sympathetic to transgender
issues. Still, Becky was living as a normal woman, so it wasn't a big
deal. They would have to talk about it and do some shopping around. Bill
was absolutely certain that he wanted nothing to do with the more
conservative denominations.

Bill received a text from Becky saying that her friend Joanne agreed to be
her maid of honor, and that she would help with many of the wedding plans,
having done so for some of her other friends. She asked if they could have
her over for dinner some evening this week. Bill agreed and replied
accordingly.

After work they drove to the jewelry shop that was sizing Becky's ring. On
the way they discussed churches. Since they didn't belong to any
denomination, they were free to shop around, and both agreed that a liberal
denomination would be best.

"How about Unitarian?" asked Bill.

"I'd prefer a denomination that is more of a church," Becky said.

"It is a church," argued Bill, "more so than Scientology!"

"How would the Episcopal Church be?" Becky asked, "my mother used to go
there."

"Sound good to me," said Bill, "I'll check around and see what is nearby."

They both laughed and discussed other options. They arrived at the jewelry
shop and went in. They ring was given to Bill, to put on Becky's hand.
For a typically confident guy, Bill was very nervous as he slipped the ring
on her finger. I didn't go on very easily and he had no KY jelly! He had
never seen Becky smile so intently!

On the way home Becky would not let go of Bill's hand, and Bill felt really
proud to be engaged to beautiful Becky. They stopped at a seafood
restaurant for dinner and Becky just kept admiring her new ring. "Becky
dear," said Bill, "please take a moment to look at the menu".

Startled, Becky smiled and chose a selection from the menu. Bill ordered
for both of them as Becky went back to admiring her ring.

"Bill sweetness," said Becky, "I know that I'm not a very good
conversationalist at the moment, but I'm just so overwhelmed right now!"

"Oh?" Bill responded, not quite fathoming just what a big deal this was to
Becky.

"For most of my life," explained Becky, "I wondered if I would ever be able
to have a normal life. When you came into my life I saw the hope, and now
it's really happening."

Bill smiled at Becky as she continued to beam with joy. He knew he
couldn't feel as excited as Becky, but he really felt wonderful about being
Becky's "knight in shining armor".

After dinner they stopped at a beverage store and bought a bottle of white
merlot to enjoy when they got home. With Becky's mind racing, Bill thought
it might be good to have something to help them both sleep.

"Joanne will be coming for dinner on Wednesday," said Becky.

"I look forward to meeting her," said Bill, "we should make something
special for dinner."

Becky agreed and she told Bill how Joanne had been such a help to her as
she was moving into adulthood. Bill had not realized how lonely it could
be for a transgendered woman, who had to keep so much of herself secret.
He hoped that Becky would feel less closed, now that she could confide in
him.

They arrived back at Bill's place and went in. After changing into casual
clothing Bill poured the wine and they sat on the couch together.

After a glass each Bill and Becky were doing some serious cuddling. "You
really took good care of me last night," Becky said, "like you had lots of
experience."

"My experience is mostly with you, dear," replied Bill, "enhanced by your
father's advice and some basic knowledge of biology."

"Oh, so now you are making me a biology project!" mused Becky.

"You are a project alright," replied Bill, smiling.

"By the way, just how did you know about my dildo's?" asked Becky, "I've
always kept them hidden."

"I noticed them as you unpacked, and took them out of your nightstand,"
Bill said.

"Well, you might as well keep them in your nightstand," said Becky,
"because you will be using them more than I will."

"Judging from how wonderfully you responded, I plan on using them very
often," Bill said, "at least until our wedding."

"Then you can give me the real thing!" declared Becky.

"I sure will!" agreed Bill

After finishing the wine they went to bed, drifting off to sleep in their
usual spooning position.
