Rogue Review No. 398 - June 21, 1999
TITLE: Exposed
AUTHOR: Vickie Morgan
LENGTH: 6,300 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Female
COMBINATION(S): --
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): --
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Strip Club
Talk Show
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --
SUMMARY: Kate is invited on a daytime talk show under the
pretense that she will be discussing her friendship with her best
friend Debbie. During the course of the show Debbie admits to
having an affair with Harry, Kate's husband. Harry confirms
Debbie's boast and suggests that Debbie move in with them. Kate
doesn't take to Harry's idea, but does accept an invitation from
the owner of a strip club, who also appeared on the show.
COMMENTARY: I have a feeling that this story may appeal to women
more than it does to men. There isn't any sex in it. It is a
nice story, but I wasn't drawn in by Kate's dilemma. I was not
able to feel Kate's pain, and thus it was hard for me to
appreciate her triumph (of sorts) at the end of the story.
On the whole I would say that Kate's character seemed a bit too
restrained. I am not suggesting that she should have been
telling the world how she feels. I am suggesting that the author
should have given more details that would show, rather than tell
the reader, what Kate was experiencing.

Rogue Review No. 399 - June 22, 1999
TITLE: The Blood Pressure Check
AUTHOR: Al Steiner
LENGTH: 4,300 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Doctor-Patient
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Hospital
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --
SUMMARY: Bob goes for a physical. He doesn't pass the blood
pressure test. The doctor tries a rather unorthodox method to
lower his blood pressure. In the end, she isn't successful,
in lowering his blood pressure, but is satisfied enough to
fudge the numbers on his forms.
COMMENTARY: This is a fun story. Nothing in particular about it
sticks out, other than the fact that it is very arousing and very
well written. I think this is because the author does a nice job
of setting the story up before even hinting at anything sexual.

Rogue Review No. 400 - June 23, 1999
TITLE: Sex and the Single Girl Scout
AUTHOR: Jenny Wanshel
LENGTH: 12,000 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Female
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): --
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Home
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): Pre- and Early-Teen Sex
SUMMARY: Jenny describes how she lost her virginity at the age of
twelve to the 14-year-old son of her Girl Scout troop leader.
After this she tells of her second time, a year later, with one
of her friend's older brothers.
COMMENTARY: I had a hard time getting into this story. I lay the
blame for that in a number of places. First there is the age of
the main character. I have a hard time getting aroused by a
description of a 12-year-old losing her virginity. If the story
is described in such a way that her age is not emphasized, then I
might be able to ignore this fact, but that is not the case here.
Second, there is the large amount of narration sans dialogue.
Okay, let me take a step back. There is dialogue in this story,
I am not trying to deny that. My problem is that there is not
enough to satisfy my tastes. What you end up with, when you have
as much narration as there is in this story, is much more
description than there is "meaningful" interaction between the
characters. It was just too one-sided for me.
Third, and finally, there is the plot. It seems as though this
story could have been split in to two separate stories. That may
or may not be apparent from by summarization of the plot. I
think that if I had been more taken in by some of the other
elements of the story then I may have been a bit forgiving when
it came to the plot; unfortunately, I wasn't.
This is not a badly written story. It will probably appeal to
women more than it does to men. If dialogue isn't as important
to you as it is to me and you don't mind reading about a 12-year-
old having sex, then you may enjoy this story.

TITLE: The Garden
AUTHOR: E. Z. Riter
LENGTH: 2,900 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): --
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Home
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --
SUMMARY: Jack gets some help in the garden and elsewhere from
Beth, his 21-year-old stepdaughter's best friend.
COMMENTARY: This is a very nicely written story. In particular,
I enjoyed the descriptions. They are lush and sensual. The
author includes just the right amount of detail. This allows the
reader to fill in the rest with her or his own imagination.
The only other thing that occurs to me is that there aren't any
graphic descriptions of sex in this story. That will probably
turn some of you off and others of you on. I found the story to
be somewhat arousing.

KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Hair Salon
GENRE(S): --

that most of you should enjoy it as well.

TITLE: Forty-five Words
AUTHOR: Miss Behavin'
LENGTH: 17,000 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Female
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Married Couple
Unmarried Couple
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Home
On the Town
Outdoors
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --
SUMMARY: Kate wishes her sex life was a bit more like her best
friend Julie's. With some assistance and advice from Julie, her
wish comes true.
COMMENTARY: I think that what makes this story special is the
fact that it does not feel predictable in the least bit. The
characters seem real. They are not stereotypes. They have
feelings. The author does a nice job putting the reader inside
the head of each of the four principal players, to varying
degrees. The plot has twists and turns. Everything does not go
as planned. Sometimes this is because one of the characters
change their mind and sometimes it is due to circumstances beyond
their control. I can't think of anything else to say. Look
folks, it all (characters and plot) works and it is extremely
arousing. Need I say more?

TITLE: The Skier
AUTHOR: Mike Hunt
LENGTH: 5,300 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Nurse-Patient
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Hospital
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --
SUMMARY: Mike manages to break his arms and legs in a skiing
accident. Carole Anne, one of the nurses, gives him some
"special" attention during his stay in the hospital.
COMMENTARY: This is your basic stroke story, which happens to be
very well written and very arousing. The author does a nice job
keeping it light and not too focused on the sex. Both characters
seem realistic enough. Read it! I think that most of you should
enjoy it.
