Rogue Review No. 419 - July 29, 1999

TITLE: Fun in the Tub
AUTHOR: Mike Hunt
LENGTH: 4,200 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Married Couple
KINK(S): Golden Showers
SETTING(S): Hotel
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: Mike and June play a game called "slave".
This somehow leads to them giving each other golden
showers.

COMMENTARY: This is a nice, playful story. It is
almost worth reading just for the author's humorous
notes before and after the story. I'm not wild about
golden showers, but for the most part I enjoyed myself.
I found the game they played to be more
arousing than what it led to.

Rogue Review No. 420 - August 4, 1999

TITLE: Love Is All You Need?
AUTHOR: John A
LENGTH: 32,900 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Infidelity
                 Older Male-Younger Female
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Hotel
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: When they first meet, Dan is 38-years-old, happily
married, and has three children. Chrissy is eighteen and a
senior in high school at the time. Over the next few years
he risks quite a bit to spend a good deal of time with her.

COMMENTARY: This is not a short story, but it is a very
nicely constructed one. The focus is as much on how torn
Dan is between his affair with Chrissy and his marriage, as
it is on the sex in his relationship with her. While the
story has a somewhat repetitive feel to it, Dan's fear and
guilt help to keep it fresh. He never seems to be
completely at ease with himself. Chrissy does not get as
much as attention as Dan does, but the author still does a
nice job of fleshing her out, to a lesser degree. She is
more than just a body.

Some of you may be somewhat turned off by the "older male-
younger female" relationship. I recommend that you at least
give this story try. I think that it is worth it.

OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: 9.0 (out of 10)

        - Arousal: 4/5
        - Editing: 5/5
        - Plot and Characters: 5/5

SUBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: Excellent

Rogue Review No. 421 - August 5, 1999

TITLE: Early In, Early Out
AUTHOR: Titmouse
LENGTH: 3,500 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): --
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Office
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: One good favor deserves another. The nameless
narrator of this story offers to reduce the amount of time
that Susan has to work in his office, if she does him a
favor in return. He isn't specific, but Susan comes up with
a favor that they both are agreeable to.

COMMENTARY: The story is a little short on plot, but the
author does a nice job setting it up. The sex is very
arousing. This is a quickie, not a full blown story, but
the author has done a very nice job with it.

Rogue Review No. 422 - August 9, 1999

TITLE: Afterwards
AUTHOR: Losgud
LENGTH: 7,800 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Father-Daughter
                 Husband-Wife
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Car
            Home
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: A man is seduced by his daughter, Linda, who has
just dropped out of college.

COMMENTARY: This was a fun read. The author does not cut to
the chase too fast. The main character not only gets teased
by his daughter, but he also shows some doubts about
committing incest. If you don't care for incest stories or
older male-younger female stories then you may not like this
one, otherwise I recommend it.

Rogue Review No. 423 - August 10, 1999

TITLE: The Deep South
AUTHOR: Anthony Matthews
LENGTH: 2,100 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Brother-Sister
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Hotel
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: A young man and his older sister, Regina, kiss and
makeup. This occurs after they have fought over whether he
should get to sleep in the bed with her or have to sleep on
the floor.

COMMENTARY: The thing I like the most about this story are
the details. The author does a very nice job setting it up.
The sex is nicely handled. Both characters seem realistic.
Their relationship comes across as true-to-life. If I had a
complaint, it would be that the beginning sets up this
beautiful background, which is then hardly used at all in
the story. It gives the story flavor, but it also raised my
expectations.

There are a few places where it seems that words are
missing. Considering how short this story is, that seemed
excessive.

OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: 8.0 (out of 10)

TITLE: Double Cross
AUTHOR: DG
LENGTH: 29,500 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
                Twosome (2 Females)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
                Homosexual (Female)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Unmarried Couples
KINK(S): --
SETTING(S): Indoors
            Outdoors
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): Short scene that contains semi-consensual BDSM

SUMMARY: Frank Stern is a private investigator and a voyeur.
He knew that taking pictures of Claire Ingleford, a well-
known actress, while she was sunbathing topless on a beach
was risky. He did not foresee all the trouble it would
bring him.

COMMENTARY: This is an entertaining read, although if you
are looking for stroke fiction then I advise you look
elsewhere. For the most part I was not aroused by the sex.
One sex scene, in particular, was more touching to me than
it was arousing. Maybe I just need to get my pulse checked.

This is a detective story. It is set in southern California.
The cast of characters are well drawn. The story unravels
at a nice pace.

There are a couple plot lines that seem as though they
should have been a bit more fully developed, or given a
little less attention. The author brings them in, but then
doesn't seem to do much if anything with them.

OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: 7.0 (out of 10)

TITLE: Anything
AUTHOR: a.k.a. nolan
LENGTH: 3,600 words
MAIN CHARACTER: Male
COMBINATION(S): Twosome (Female, Male)
ORIENTATION(S): Heterosexual (Female, Male)
RELATIONSHIP(S): Married Couple
KINK(S): Role Playing
SETTING(S): Hotel
GENRE(S): --
CAUTION(S): --

SUMMARY: Travis and Claire cannot afford to go on another
vacation. Claire's desire to do so coupled with her promise
to do "anything" he wants, sways Travis' assessment of their
financial situation.

COMMENTARY: This is a wonderful story. The author paints
just enough of the picture so that the reader knows what is
going on, but not so much so that it feels bogged down in
details. The sex is extremely hot, although I must admit
that it is similar to fantasies I have had. I have no
complaints. One thing to keep in mind is that the story is
told from Travis' point of view, which is to say that Claire
is not as fleshed out as her husband is.
