former students pays him a visit.
COMMENTARY: This story is a lot fun. The author does a nice
job setting the scene. He gives enough details to make it
credible. He leaves plenty of room for the reader's
imagination. He does not cut to the chase too quickly.
There are a few references in here that are a bit before my
time. There is also some medical terminology used, herein,
that left me puzzled. In neither case was it very
distracting. In fact, once the story got rolling I had no
interest in slowing down, reading that is, even if there was
an occasional word or two that I did not understand. The
ending is, well, I'll let you find out for yourself, but
suffice it to say that I was impressed by it.

boyfriend walks out on her. She runs into an old friend
from high school, Greg, on her first visit to the doctor's
office.
COMMENTARY: I enjoyed this story quite a bit. The plot
takes in much more than just sex. A good deal of it focuses
on Becca and her pregnancy. She continues to work while she
is expecting. She runs into Greg in places other than the
doctor's office. She interacts with some of her clients at
the counseling center. She has a life.
There is one plot line that is dropped towards the end
without any sort of resolution. It wasn't central to the
story, but it left me thinking that the author dropped the
ball before she crossed finish line. I don't know if that
last sentence made sense, but hopefully you get the idea.
I did find the sex to be very arousing, but there isn't an
abundance of it. That's why I gave it the arousal score
that I did. The score reflects quantity, and not quality,
in this case.

COMMENTARY: I enjoyed this story because of the bondage and
forced sexual activity. That sounds odd, since I normally
don't care for stories that involve forced or non-consensual
sex. On the other hand, I can see how such a situation
could be both frightening and arousing. I think it is the
mix of emotions that got to me.
I think that the author went a bit too far with her female
characters' actions, at the end of the story. I suppose
that they were just trying to protect their reputations, but
I had a hard time seeing it that way, while I was reading
the story. At the time, their actions just seemed cruel to
me. It wasn't so much what they did, as much as the fact
that their victim didn't seem to get any joy or thrill out
of it.
So, I enjoyed this story, with reservations. It is arousing
and entertaining, but it is also short on plot, the author
cuts to the chase too quickly, and the way it ends makes me
uncomfortable. Okay?

SUMMARY: Allan almost falls to his death, while washing
windows on a skyscraper. That's how the story begins, more
or less.
COMMENTARY: This is a nice story, but I found it somewhat
lacking. The sex is somewhat arousing, but my biggest gripe
with the story is that I felt there was too much telling and
not enough showing. By that I mean that the author seemed
to inform the reader rather than simply describe what was
happening. It can be a fine line, but the difference seems
to me to be that in the latter case the author does not
leave the evidence as open to interpretation as he (in this
case) does in the latter.
I suspect that I may be blowing this whole showing versus
telling thing out of proportion. It is entirely possible
that I am overlooking a true gem of a story. In light of
that, I will point out that this is a romantic story. So,
if you like erotic stories that have a romantic flavour to
them then you may want to give this one a spin.

COMMENTARY: This story flows beautifully. As I read it, I
could feel the tension building within me. The main
character is torn between dread (at what her mistress has in
store for her) and joy (at the thought of being treated in
such a manner by her mistress). These emotions and came
through very clearly, and while they are conflicting they
also made her seem very real. The ending is divine. It
doesn't completely resolve everything, but it does leave the
reader with plenty to wonder about.
For those of you who may get squicked by some bondage and
discipline stories, let me assure that there is nothing very
extreme in this story, other than the main character's
emotions. Maybe I should have just coded it 'Light
Bondage', but I chose not to.

COMMENTARY: On the one hand I feel that the author has done
a very nice job just presenting characters without mixing in
too much plot. On the other hand I think that I would have
liked it if there had been a little more to the story. It
was compelling, in some ways, but it also left me thinking,
"aren't there other angles or details that author could have
included?" Still, this is a first rate effort. It isn't
too predictable, nor too focused on sex. The ending wasn't
quite what I expected, but it was credible.

COMMENTARY: I enjoyed this story quite a bit. It is paced a
little fast. Some aspects of it required me to suspend my
disbelief more than I normally prefer to; still, I liked it.
The author does not cut to the chase too quickly. He takes
his time and allows a series of events to build up. What I
meant when I said that it is paced too fast, is that the
action within each individual scene flows too quickly. The
story on the whole is nicely paced.
I believe that this story will appeal more to men than it
does to women. I say that primarily because this seems like
more of a male fantasy than a female one. I could be wrong.
Its happened before; once in 1975; nobody's perfect. Maybe
if Darcy had been fleshed out a little more before she and
Lance got involved (ooops, did I just give a way part of the
plot?) then I might not have made this assertion.
