SUMMARY: The main character is a young man, a college
dropout in his early twenties. He has been making his
living seducing older women, since he left school. His life
takes a rather dramatic turn the night that he meets Sylvia.
COMMENTARY: This story is divided into two parts, more or
less. In the first half the main character finds himself
dominated by Sylvia and her assistants. In the second half
the transgender transformation occurs.
I found the first half to be quite arousing. The pacing was
great. The main character is used to stringing women along,
but he finds himself to be the one who is getting strung
along. He isn't quite able to accept this fact and yet he
goes along with it. I found this to be very realistic.
I didn't enjoy the second half quite as much as I did the
first. In particular, I have a problem understanding why
the main character allows himself to be transformed. Up to
that point in the story he seems to allow things to happen
to him without really understanding why. At that point he
has to make a decision; continue with a process that has
already begun or return to his old life. He chooses the
former. His mental state isn't entirely apparent. One
possible explanation could be that he says "yes" because
that's what the author wants him to do. He is drugged at
the time, maybe that's why he says "yes," but that does not
explain his acceptance of his new life. Maybe I am just
missing something. Maybe, my problem is that I have a hard
time understanding why a man would want to be a woman. It
isn't a fantasy of mine. Maybe if I did fantasize about
being transformed into a woman then I would understand why
he accepts Sylvia's offer.
Anyhow, this is a very well written story, but if you tend
to prefer romantic, vanilla stories then I recommend that
you steer clear of this one. If, on the other hand, you do
enjoy transgender fiction or happen to have a strong stomach
then I recommend you give it try.
