Evolution of a Taiyoukai

Epilogue

Leaning against the open door of the limo, Kagome watched as her friends exited the school after the final bell.  Wearing oversized, dark sunglasses and because of the prominent silver streaks in her hair, the little miko doubted that her friends would spare her a glance let alone recognize her.  As far as they knew she had gotten married and moved away, that’s the story her mother had told them after the old well had collapsed, making it apparent that she wouldn’t be passing through the time rift again.

Wrapping an arm around her waist, Sesshomaru kissed her on top of the head.  He still looked like the mighty taiyoukai he was, even after 500 years, though a spell now hid his fangs and markings and he wore his hair shorter and tied back.  “You know, I wouldn’t care if you went back to school or contacted your friends Kagome.”  He told her quietly.

With a small smile, she shook her head.  “No thanks Sesshomaru.  I don’t think I could handle it any more.  After 500 years on this planet I can’t see myself handling sitting in classes and spending so much time studying.  Especially in classes like history.  Hell, I could teach that class because I lived it with you!  Nor could I handle listening to the inaccurate and, at times, all but fabricated version that they teach.  No, this is just a reminder to me of how much I don’t miss that and of how much I’ve changed.  Besides, you couldn’t handle me being around guys like Hojo all the time.”  Sliding an arm around his waist, she gave him a gentle squeeze then changed the subject.  “Did we get everything on mom’s list?”

“You’re right, I couldn’t.”  He growled a bit then switched subjects.  “Yes, we have it all I believe.”

“We had better head back then.  You know what Kouga and Inuyasha are like when they get together.  No way Kagura can put up with them for too long without doing something.  My family wants an intact shrine so we better head back before things start getting out of hand.”

“Indeed.”  He said with a smirk while he helped her into the limo.

A.N.-  After 511 handwritten pages and 82,851 words its is finally finished!  I hope you enjoyed it.  I would like to thank Grey, Soul Daddy and Angelic Memories for their great beataing!  Also, for all those who voted and left the wonderful reviews I want to thank you.  Writing is a labor of love more than it is rewarding and can be quite a frustrating venture at times.  The great reviews and things people say can often brighten your day when you’re the most frustrated. 

On another topic… I mentioned It Is What It IS 2 when I finished it.  For writers our muse can be a tricky thing at times.  Though I have an outline for it I’m not happy with it so it’s being put on hold for now until I can fix what’s wrong with it –whatever that may be because I don’t know.  But, never fear, there is something else coming soon.  I’m going to rest for a couple days- I think I earned it- then there will be a short oneshot.  After that I’ll begin my next multi-chapter monstrosity so keep an eye out for it!
