Baisers D'ecarlate : Scarlet Kisses exists to provide a comfortable community for writers and readers of vampire erotic fiction. Though we are not the only story site of this genre, it is our goal to present a less angsty version of the fantasy. Even though the vampire creature may be portrayed in any way the writer wishes, the overall feel that we are going for is not very traditional.

Many are drawn to the vampire mythology, and their reasons are suprisingly diverse. We do not seek to stifle that diversity, but rather to embrace it, by shutting out the idea that a vampire has to be an evil killer or suffer. As appealing as that can be on so many levels, it is a black and white portrayal, while there are many people, mostly outside the vampire community, who find something delicious in the fantasy that they are too frightened to approach. Only the intolerant should feel uncomfortable here.

I am J. A. Koika, or just Koika, the creator of this site. I'm currently working on a complete novel called "Soleil D'ecarlate", which inspired the name and theme of my web page. As for what intrigues me about vampires, I would love to express that here. I am afraid I am not currently a member of any vampire lifestyle or subculture, since I'm seldom part of anything in the traditional sense (i strive on my chaotic nature) and I do not find I desire blood. I know about "real" vampires, and I respect them as long as they reserve their fangs for willing throats, and play it safe. I do not actually believe in anything supernatural, so if you do then don't expect empathy on such things if we exchange e-mails (with all due respect.)

So what is my attraction to vampires, then? I have come to think that it's in all of us - they are simply erotic. Power is sexy, penetration is phallic, blood is sweet and life is shared from prey to predator. But beyond that, I am driven by something more abstract. The way I see it, blood is the essence of our lives, but even though vampires must drink it to survive, they don't truely live at all. Could that be because the essence of the blood transcends the physical liquid itself? That would explain the disgust most vampires have with animal blood. Indeed, the fierce motion of their fangs into an area so tender as the neck or breast leads to a drink, but it is typically that of prey under the predator's maw. It could also be a deep, passionate kiss, and that passion alone could could, in my mind, fill the lonely creature quickly.

If it were my life blood, the creature supping on me would almost be my victim, the one needing to nurse as I give suck. Upon the breast especially, that maternal image is very real. I find it beautiful that someone could nourish someone else like that, with something so essential that it goes straight through the drinker's heart. One could even listen to it beat afterwards. But I find that few stories give me that feeling, so I put together this website, to showcase my fantasies and perhaps find others who feel the same way. I hope nobody takes their lifestyle so strictly that I seem to be bastardizing it in any way, but I will listen to such grievances... I understand what being a minority is all about. Or instead of correcting me, write about it on the forum. As for what you put in your story, if you plan to submit, there really is nothing I intend to force on you, except to avoid non-consent and snuff. For more about that, read 'contact information'.

I hope you enjoy yourself here, no matter who or what you are. And thank you for stopping by.
